I have a few ideas for how you can get a horse. I've had the answer for months. A ruined cathedral isn't the best place to keep a horse though. We aren't staying in the cathedral too long. My rp's end too soon when we stay in hub areas too long.
Also, Erik and Brandr have a post together.

It's not ending, Annie. I'm reminded of how we stayed in the hub area of Into the Void, I was building up the plot, and then everyone disappeared. Lol. Fish disappeared, then Westinev disappeared, then everyone else. I'm constantly worried that it could happen again.

That said, if anyone else disappears from Vampyro, I might end the rp, do a review of my work, see what lessons I learned, and then work on a new one. I don't see anyone else joining Vampy any time soon. Could they? Maybe. Vampyro is vulnerable right now because these forums aren't getting new roleplayers. Not to guilt trip anyone into staying in Vampyro.
Edit: Was going to get up a post for you, Annie, but I'm too tired to post, and the page refreshed, exited me out of the thread, and closed the window. Lame. I have no idea what key I pressed.

Subaki's un-Japaneseness is a result of my lack of knowledge of Japanese culture, lol. I'll see what I can do.
I should have clarified I alluded to historical Japanese culture, not modern. I can provide a few examples below.
For example, back in medieval Japan, hugging was nonexistence. When Subaki's mother hugs him, that is unhistorical (though since we are in a fantastical environment, it may not matter). There was limited childhood in medieval Japan beyond teaching one's children, so affection was rather nonexistent beyond one's purpose to learn then perform one's position in the caste system.
Most samurai were poor, as poverty was considered honorable. If I recall correctly, Sakura's father owned a good, large home, which would have negative connotations. Even today in Japan, having lots of money, or even talking about money, will get you frowns and I have speculated this is due to the echoes of samurai culture.
You may have noticed in animes that, when a character points one's chopsticks at a main character, or sits on the ground, this character is either a bad guy or a rude lead character. If I recall correctly, Sakura never sits on the ground, she instead sits on a log, or kneels to sharpen her axe, but if I remember incorrectly and she does sit on the ground, this was to depict her as an evil character. However, since she is a samurai, Sakura will still have utmost respect at the dining table, inside someone's home (so long as it is clean and taken care of; she lacks respect of the cathedral due to its dilapidation and she may have sat on the floor there to portray that but I might not remember if she did so), at the dojo/school/educational center, etc.
Samurai did not fight rushed or with fast thinking, their movements had to be graceful to let the weight and thickness of the katana do the work for you--Japanese are smaller than Westerners so for them the katana is not necessarily very light.

I got that you were referring to medieval Japanese history, problem here is that I know almost nothing of Japanese history beyond Feudal Japan, the 47 Ronin, Commadore Perry and the fall of the Meiji dynasty., and Modern Japanese history. My knowledge of Japanese history is so incomplete that I would have preferred no Bushi culture in a country based on Lithuania. It feels so out of place. I decided that it wasn't worth fighting over. I'm pretty relaxed with enforcing personal preferences. I don't do it often. Any post relating to Subaki or Bushii culture are going to be historically incorrect in some way. I might benefit from taking a class on Japanese history so I can get some credit for a transfer to university.
