Azi, I don't mean any offense by this, but I would say that the main issue I have with your roleplays is that they combine too many concepts.

Most of the roleplays you've made have just been you taking already existing worlds and gluing them together, and in some cases they don't necessarily mix well together.

I mean, I said I was interested in making a roleplay about musket-era partisans/guerilla fighters struggling to survive in occupied territory, and then you suggested that I throw in cowboys and armoured soldiers.

Also, I personally would rather roleplay in somebody's own original setting instead of a fanfiction setting from an established franchise.

Lastly, from what I've seen, most of your settings have featured massive, sprawling worlds with multiple factions, which don't exactly work well when there are only about five or six regular RPers.

Reasonable points for sure, Fishing. I used to focus on original ideas, but I moved on from that to make my RPs simpler to understand. I just don't have as much time or energy as I once had, so I figured the use of Imgur images was the best way to showcase ideas, features, settings, and characters. And, that also means that existing franchises are what's mostly available in Imgur. There's lots of fantasy images, too, and I have tonnes stored away. I also try to make my RPs interactive, like a graphic novel, hence pictures to display scenes/characters/things.

For example, in what Impurity currently became, it took some features from For Honor, but the rest is a mix of artwork/images from Imgur that I could find.

As for lots of content and multiple factions, I like to create roleplays where users can influence/forge the world and its story. That way, it's like a democratic system, of which your 'vote' is you just roleplaying, and I try to work with users' bios' themes/features in the RP. I want RPs to be about the players, not the game master.

I just struggle with simpler or limited ideas, my brain can't function without vastness and freedom. That's why I can't make short stories, and even my fanfics tend to exceed 150k words even though the average novel is around 90-110 thousand words.

With such settings in mind, your 'haunted house' expands into a 'haunted London' or 'haunted evil town' which I feel is more interesting, as such a setting could work with gunslingers, mercenaries, witches, monster slayers, cursed kids, or what have you.

I also think being able to roleplay as a villain would be an interesting twist, seeing as I tend to be (unintentionally) semi-disruptive in other users' RPs with my characters XD

The idea is to create a setting that could concievably be completed in one or two months - so there would only be three to five clues scattered about the house that would unravel the whole mystery (piecing together how to destroy the ghost). After this, the story would end.

The goal was to create a short christmas themed roleplay with a concievable ending. If the setting was the issue, I can easily pitch another concept. If the short roleplay concept itself is the issue, then it's time to burn the drawing board.

So you can see how expanding the world wouldn't really fit my intended goal for the thread.

Okay, concept number 2:

The world has gone to hell after a nuclear apocolypse, though it is slowly recovering in a steampunky fallouty manor. Our characters are bounty hunters assigned to capture a wanted man who runs a gang from a rest stop in the middle of nowhere. As our characters pull up to the station, a timid snowflake will fall upon the window.

It will be too dangerous to drive back tonight, our driver will likely conclude.

We will enter the rest stop and deal with the situation (violently, peacefully, or they could pick a third option). It's also possible for the characters NOT to deal with the situation, or get captured themselves.

And that's when the killer snowmen barge into the building and attack.

Typical thriller tropes ensue.

The idea is to escape or survive the night. Everyone in the rest stop is non-essential, though you won't get paid for dead bodies.

Christmas Roleplay Gone Wrong Roleplay?

You guys are a bunch of a roleplayers at someone's house for your annual Christmas Roleplay.
However, the Roleplay starts to become all too real. either someone makes their character a little too real. or the setting becomes horror/fantasy like as aspects of the roleplay start to become a part of the physical world.

The setting stays inside the house. No magic (outside of the minor reality warping that comes from the act of roleplaying).

Course of events must take place over a single day/night, ending on Christmas day or the 26th.

I'd be more likely to try this, although I don't know for sure.

I'd say my problem is that I like a grand storyline, even if I know it'll never reach any real point of interest.

You have to anyways. GET TO IT! HUT HUT!

And before Fish goes towards me with the same: I'm waiting on George, and if for some reason he's done with it I'll make someone else.

*yawns* Well, I won't blame the big boys are trying to show off their muscle, but I will admit this adds a layer of difficulty. This scene plays out in my head much like a press conference or parliamentary debate with everyone shouting atop each other, making it difficult to find what Elyssia should be reacting to.

Unless that's the intention, in which case I'll stick to my "this is WAY over my head" stratagem.

Criticism aside, I'll see what I can do later today.
