The next topic is controlling bullets/projectiles, like the links I showed. And, as Not said, magic-based guns. Inferi's RPs did have something like that, with crystallis technology, but I don't know enough about it to talk much of it. I just find the idea of a single bullet moving and thus performing multiple headshots is so cool, though a musket probably wouldn't fire a bullet capable of piercing multiple people.

For some reason, this kind of reminds me of the 2008 movie "Wanted" - a movie about a cult of assassins who had the ability to bend the trajectory of bullets.

Still, I imagine a multi-kill feat would look cool with any projectile weapon. I'm pretty sure High-Elf Archer from Goblin Slayer did something similar with an arrow.

EDIT: Huh. It seems this was actually something people were aware of back in 1757. Perhaps body shields aren’t as effective as media would have one believe? :P

“Whenever you are ordered out to the enemies forts or frontiers for discoveries, if your number be small, march in a single file, keeping at such a distance from each other as to prevent one shot from killing two men, sending one man, or more, forward, and the like on each side, at the distance of twenty yards from the main body, if the ground you march over will admit of it, to give the signal to the officer of the approach of an enemy, and of their number,”

Ha, a bloody Christmas, that'd be quite the RP. It's just that we don't seem to have ever had a holiday-centric roleplay. I've certianly never seen such an anime, though, but it is a peculiar that that came to mind, So Merry Friggin' Christmas.

Oo, assassins who bend the trajectory of bullets. That's lethal for sure. Though, I don't think an arrow could pass through multiple bodies, but maybe a high-powered crossbow could?

Ah, so musket bullets can possibly shoot straight through bodies. I thought that, since the bullet was spherical, it would just expand as it hits the body. But, if bullets of the 18th century can indeed shoot straight through people, that's quite the thing to think about. Will need to remember about it for sure.

I'm wondering if a haunted house RP would work. I mean, I have a general plot and completion conditions in mind, though I'm wondering if a mystery story could translate into a post by post RP.

The basic idea is that we all are invited to the christmas party of a relative (and can bring friends). If you want to be difficult, your car will break down or something so your character can be completely unrelated to everyone else. The house itself is two stories and on a lifestyle block outside of town. The sun is about to set, and the nights forecast is going to be a heavy snowstorm.

Characters will be unable to leave until morning, and must trigger a condition in order to set the events in motion (by doing something unchristmasy). Once the ghost is triggered, the game will become a survival horror. Characters must either survive until morning or unravel the clues in the house.

I figure a thread like this will require a fair bit of note taking and clue creation. But would anyone be interested in this sort of RP?

West,
I think your idea could be expanded. ''Christmas and haunted'' is a cool concept, but let's take it a step further.

For example, it can be set in a post-apocalyptic Victorian/dieselpunk London,

Or, perhaps something smaller, like a creepy haunted town,

(note the castle in the distance; could be a vampire RP of some kind)

With such settings in mind, your 'haunted house' expands into a 'haunted London' or 'haunted evil town' which I feel is more interesting, as such a setting could work with gunslingers, mercenaries, witches, monster slayers, cursed kids, or what have you.

I also think being able to roleplay as a villain would be an interesting twist, seeing as I tend to be (unintentionally) semi-disruptive in other users' RPs with my characters XD

Any particular reason why, if you don't mind me asking?

Not generally a fan of survival horror when it comes to RPs, nor do I really enjoy the whole "mucking about for clues" method of continuation.

Generally, it also doesn't really mesh with the type of character I like to create, and so unless I get super inspired in some way I'm not going to enjoy writing for them.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
