I still feel like I'm not explaining this very well, so let me just tell you all the rules I've established for this item.

Basically, the gauntlet allows him to match the force that is being applied to whatever object he happens to be touching (there are limits, but even Wulvash is not strong enough to break them.)

The strength is only given to the arm of the hand that is touching the object (it also gives his arm the ability to endure that force, so it can't be broken or dislocated). So while the hand touching your halberd was given your strength, his other hand (in which he was holding his own weapon) was at normal strength.

After you either let go or stop fighting/resisting, there's a brief fraction of a second where he retains that power (which is how he was able to use the strength of your shield to move that halberd into a different position) but after that it fades and he goes back to regular strength.

The wearer's weight and balance are not affected.

Is that clear enough?

In other news, I've started reading some wattpad stories for giggles. You know the site's full of quality material when every keyword I type seems to link to some sort of girly chickflick, yuri or... more girly chick flicks.

This'll be fun. :P

(Disclaimer: I'm totally not typing "girly chickflick" or "yuri" into the searchbar to see if I can find some ironic results. Because that would be dumb, and totally something I would do.)

(Edit: Turns out I didn't need to do this. The Wattpad concensus seems to be that anything goes, so long as the reader's character is the underaged teenage white girl.)

Well, I see you've figured out how to make Zensira do something.

Also, regarding the discussion a page or two back: Westenev said :
I'm just refering to your generalised healing potion, staple to any fantasy setting. So, perhaps something similar to, but weaker than your ambrosia potion? I mean, I figure it's something the magical tavern would have that a military outpost wouldn't, it would help in a gunfight, and it would justify Elyssia's trip.

I mean, this is assuming the world doesn't have a weird and wacky way to handle first aid.

I mean, most "healing" is done by more conventional medicine. Healing magic was already rare, and in this day and age it's practically nonexistent. That's generally, though; the tavern might have something, although it wouldn't be a whole lot; certainly not enough for more than a few people.

Still, if she thought that would help, there's no reason she couldn't try. Just be aware that such things are in extremely short supply anywhere, and nonexistent most places.

In a semi-modern world, you'd think the military or whatever guards the local towns would have that handled (at least, for the main roads). Would be awfully bad for trade if they didn't

You just protect the trade caravans and exterminate the monster nests when you can find them. We aren't to the point where there's satellite scans of everything, so the only way to know where these things come from is eyewitness accounts. Sure, they'll do what they can to secure places, but there's too much ground to cover to simply guard everything. Defending towns and cities is a given, although it's not like national army soldiers are simply deployed everywhere.

West, about Wattpad
Well, I've never been successful in Wattpad, so I can't say much. But yeah, quite a lot of popular books seem to be about underage, silly white girls who dig hot guys that harass them. I have not found out why.

In my case, my 'dumb underage white girl' is only ten years old, but she is a schizophrenic child, hence her immaturity, self-talk, odd behavior, and two cases of catatonia (suddenly stops moving for no apparent reason). However, this story is only on Google Docs. If anyone cares, it can be found here:

Inferi - quick question regarding this water.

When you say it's solid, do you mean that it's frozen, or are the water particles simply packed so close together that the pillars carries the force of a solid object? If it is the latter, then after they make impact with the deck will they stop being solid?

More the second option, and no, they will not come apart/stop being solid once they hit. If you're looking for something to compare them to, just think of them as something akin to kraken tentacles. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Then that would imply she's still maintaining the spell after impact, and thus is continuing to expend mana/energy.

Remember that as soon as she breaks concentration, whatever force is holding the water together will dissipate.
