Gun, that sounds horrible. I never understood women like that, but that's just how some people are. They want to ruin others to feel powerful. Must be their narcissism. As I amended my older brother, I commend you, too, for not doing something crazy. Alcohol and drugs together can seriously make someone do something horrible, and ruin one's life. Glad that you survived.
Yeah, being single isn't bad. Better to be single than living with a horrible person. This goes for men and women. Abusive spouses are a nightmare no one should have to go through.

Tsundere, a cold character who becomes warmer. Hm. That, like, never happens. People usually don't change.

It's hard for two people to live together thoroughly and warmly.


Oh, and as for RPing, I will try to do that later this week. I just need to calm down before I can focus, and hope things don't escalate real bad again.

People don’t change their core values on a whim, this is true, but we can change how much of ourselves we want to show to other people. Perhaps the hostility was just covering belligerent sexual tension, or they didn’t want to open up their feelings? Or maybe s/he just hates you. That's also a possibility, I guess?

Basically, everyone likes defrosting the ice queen. To put it in terms I have read before, getting a positive reaction from a negitive person feels like progress, which is “psychologically stimulating”.

Though, in hindsight, if a girl showed her affection by decking you to the floor and calling you an idiot 5 times a minute, you’d probably come to resent her pretty fast… no matter how cute she was, or her reasons for doing so. It's a good thing Japanese male protagonists are doormats, right?

- many of the males are still in their teenage years, thus hormones trump common sense. And on avg, they wouldn't know any better
- a number of the tsudeneres were a long time object of affection. Now they have her interest, they don't want to lose it
- the tsudenere is sometimes "the only thing available". Other women in the cast are: related (sis, cousin), too old (teacher, 10000 year old deity), actively trying to kill him (enemy of male protagonist or of the tsudenere), too young (the other girl isn't in her teens yet), all of the other girls are in relationships, or she is quite possibly the only girl within 5+ miles (or more)

Or, if you are watching The Master of Ragnarok & Blesser of Einherjar, your harem might look something like:
~ The girl you want to do naughty things with, but is stuck ~3,000 years in the future.
~ The competent girl who wants to do naughty things to you.
~ The tomboy with a girly streak blacksmith girl who wants to do naughty things to you.
~ The other girl who wants to do naughty things to you, but is probably underaged (by our standards).
~ The twin girls who want to do naughty things to you, but is definitely underaged (by their standards).
~ The toddler slave girl you bought alongside a (presumably) teenage mother, but you pass the mother up because who wants sloppy seconds? Add the toddler to the harem though, by all means...
