I don't know why, but mages with swords are cool. O_o

Nah, get an enchanted halberd thing that triples as a magic staff and has a bolt launcher that shoots enchanted bolts.
The halberd is enchanted to be featherweight in your hands to allow for maximum usage, but at the point of contact, the poor sap feels the full force of the weapon's true weight.

Knight-enchanters are certainly one of the more broken classes of that game.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Worst part is, they nerfed the coolest thing about them (the lightsaber) but didn't take out what made them truly OP.

Yeah, that does essentially nothing to make the class less powerful. Now it would take two million hits to kill the level 25 dragon rather than one million, but you'll still be perfectly safe while doing it. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Honestly, the barrier system is just trash.

Not only is there no lore explanation for the sudden absence of healing, but it basically means that instead of keeping squishy party members out of danger and making careful, well-timed use of healing spells/potions, you can just avoid any damage altogether with a spell that literally makes you temporarily invincible.

As dull as micromanaging can sometimes be for some people, at least it is engaging. Now it's replaced by something that is equally dull for everyone and even less engaging.

And on a side note, what the hell is up with a Necromancer specialization that doesn't even grant you some sort of summon?

I don't think a barrier system is trash, but I prefer a nice healthy combination of barriers and healing. Barriers should exist in anything that has magic, particularly a system like the DA one, and since healing magic is both a staple of RPGs and because it was in the other games, it should be there too.

I personally dislike the fact that enemies have "armor" that can be replenished, simply because that makes no logical sense. If you destroy armor, it's gone. That's why it's armor and not a barrier.

And probably because they didn't feel like coding in summons. I don't fully disagree with that since necromancy is so much more than simply bringing a corpse back to life for a bit.
