Hmm. I think I might have the inspiration to add a ship captain into Titanomancy. No, they wouldn’t command a tiny ship either – I’m imagining something on the scale of a UNSC Halberd Class Destroyer that is very similar to the Normandy in that it’s relitively small (around the size of an UNSC Frigate), heavily armoured, can be deployed for long periods of time and has REALLY big guns.

The ship would contain a cast of 250 crew, and 50 Marines or ODST. Any more than that, and people begin sharing bunks – and most of these characters would be working behind the scenes. There would be a captain, of course, who would likely be a commander in his 40’s who is manly, simple and makes the girls swoon. He is, of course, a mary sue who always makes the right call to save as many people as he can. Beside him would be a gruffer XO, who would practice the captain’s decisions with more “practical” solutions, and a Science officer who would act as "the chick", aka the emotional crutch.

I think this idea might be a winner. ‘o.O But, it begs the question in how it could get involved in any present plot without taking it over. It could be interesting moving away from roleplaying as just a single character though.

What do you think, Azi? Worth a shot?

West,
That would work just fine! It's a good idea, but bit large-scale, so you may need to micromanage up to several features of the ship and her crew (marines, commander's orders, piloting, supplies, shuttles, etc.). If you're up for it, go for it!

As for putting it into the Collector subplot, we can assume that this ship, THE HEART OF MIDLOTHIAN (or whatever it says) follows a similar quest as the SSV Normandy during ME2, in that they ended up at the Collector Citadel via the Omega-4 Mass Relay. Presumably, they did not engage the Covenant star fleet, instead sneaking passed it. The marines may have relied on infiltration to bypass the Collector Troopers and Covenant forces, seeing as the Collectors and Covenant are in a big fight. Of course, fighting through groups of Collectors and Covenant forces may have happened. Your forces will stumble upon the finale during their investigation/infiltration/raid/whatever.

You can post all your content however you wish. Main characters can go by the bio prompt, whereas everything else can be described or explained, whatever you want.

That's the beauty of the plan! While the ship has 300 occupants, I can skim down the number of active characters and blur everyone else into the background. In reality, the only people we care about is:

~ The Commander
~ The XO
~ The Science Officer
~ The Bridge Bunnies (maybe)
~ The Boarding Party
~ The lead Engineers

This lowers the cast to at least 11-15 people, and even then, most of them would only be given a name. It also helps that, like the Normandy, Destroyers can only carry 2 of their respective universe's transport vessels.

Supplies and Orders are situational things, so I think they are definitely something you should dangle in decisions. I don't mind handling them, however, and this is definitely something I want planned before I begin!

Piloting in the Halo universe is also something of a moot point. If something that can move near the speed of light wants to hit you, it's going to hit you, regardless of how good your pilot is - and if you make a mistake, the AI can correct it.

Annie listened what the crew what they said. Then heard the gun shot. She was shocked it was close where they are. She ran and got her weapons. She was ready to fight if needed.

1) What weapons?

2) How does she know where they're located if you somehow manage to explain to me why she has any?
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Wait a moment. So one of the troopers were shot, but instead of leaving them in the empty deck, that one guy decides to drag his friend through the rest of the ship. Talk about dedication to the job.

Well, unless the guy is wearing a suicide vest, it's fairly clear this ship isn't going down in a hurry. O_o At least, not from these guys.
