Cargo Hold
Annie didn’t actually find her weapons, and for several reasons. For one, she didn’t have any. Add to that the fact that she had no idea where anything was down here and the lack of ability to open whatever the weaponry might be inside down here, and it was a nice big recipie for her being able to accomplish nothing useful by running out.
However, as Gareth had surmised, she did get something, and that something was a nice fat bullet fired in her direction. It looked like it was not aimed to hit, however, but rather to strike the deck in front of her and hopefully stop her from continuing her mad dash to nowhere. If she ignored it and continued...well, that was something that would remain to be seen.
If Chloe was aware of what Gareth was doing, she didn’t make any comment on it. Her hand was shaking as she gripped the matrix, and with no visible progress of any kind it most likely looked like she was attempting something in vain. However, the barest hint of a shimmer around the device was beginning to show, and if anyone seeing it was familiar with combat matrices they’d know that this meant the matrix was active. What it was doing, though...that was something else entirely.
Alicia didn’t resist Gareth’s movement of her at all, looking almost like she was relieved someone wasn’t giving her an option about what she had to do. Although it didn’t quite look as though she was terrified, it was clear that she had absolutely no idea what she should be doing right now.
Meanwhile, up above, the single soldier’s mask prevented anyone from seeing what they might be thinking should it show on their face. Despite what they might be thinking, though, what they did was raise the weapon and another shot, this one in front of the strange, painted individual that seemed to not care about the situation he was in. Like with Annie, it depended on what he did as to what happened next.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
