I did not see the fight, but Mayweather defeated McGregor on the 10th round. I am surprised McGregor lasted so long, seeing as he was the amateur boxer, and so I have great respect for him. I don't think an amateur lasting so long against the best boxer in history (for their weight class) has ever happened, so well done on his part.

I wanted McGregor to win, speculating that he would if he could be energetic and aggressive, seeing as Mayweather is much older and was on retirement, but I seem to have underestimated Mayweather's skills despite his age and absence from fighting. Mayweather cannot beat McGregor in MMA or street fighting, though.

Based on what I know of the fight, they matched a first time mixed martial artist turned boxer against a 49 time boxing champion... in a boxing only match. McGregor's first instincts are mixed martial arts, which kept getting him in trouble with the ref throughout the fight.

All in all, I'm not sure it was a fair fight. But when you walk home with 10mil for losing, I wouldn't complain - and lasting 10 rounds probably means he'd be invited back, even without a clean record.

Good points, as always. Undoubtedly, Mayweather had the advantage, I think the fight was set-up to be in his favour.

Yeah, how can it go wrong if you get so much money? I've certainly never earned anything punching people and receiving punches, just a hurting nose and a headache.
