I like dark, demonic and tragic themes... to a point. I don't like it when supernatural tragedy is portrayed as the "norm", if that makes any sense - if characters expect horror, this only encourages the writer to go WAY over the top in an attempt to elicit a response. The result is usually hammy and narmy.
Plus... to be frank, depressive people in a depressive world really don't do much. Hell, people in general don't do much unless they have a goal or hope in mind. Survival is an okay motivation, I guess, but I'm a big believer in the idea that humans need more motivation to want to change. Otherwise, they simply give up.
Plus, I've never really been into inventing characters from heavy metal themes (something I notice a lot in your threads). I typically prefer more... dynamic music to write with. But... hey! music tastes and meanings differ between people, I guess!
It's because of this that I don't think I'd be into a thread like that.
