I have to admit, I’ve never been big on apocalypse settings. They tend to focus more on the idea of who a person is in the dark… which is a moot point, because there are literally no lights in that metaphor.

EDIT: If I had to explain it, I would say that I find survival for survival's sake is boring. People need something to protect... something to fight over. Something that's more than themselves. Otherwise, they may as well sharpen some stone axes and go chase deer for the next 30,000 years until they go extinct.
Oh, in Wild, Wild West, the story mentions that civilization has recovered into a steampunk/dieselpunk world, amidst the ruins of the previous world.

In the Wastelands, the areas beyond steampunk cities, that's where there's the brutality, but I used Imgur images to exhibit steampunk areas, with one image clearly showing a mix of steampunk themes with skyscrapers in the background, which was coincidentally very useful.

Basically, imagine the steampunk cities like modern day New York, but without electricity, mixed with steampunk, dieselpunk, Old West, and ruins of the pre-nuclear war atompunk features. I thought it was a cool idea to imagine things like small zeppelins docking on the sides of skyscrapers, or steam trains driving through a radioactive wasteland beyond the cities and then attacked by Mad Max-like road warriors. Of course, if no one's interested, that's OK, it's good to know what works, and what doesn't. And, your points here are very good.

Oh, here's what I'm talking about:

I didn't like Rust. Survivalism, in my opinion, makes more sense when you don't just uproot a plant and then it transforms into jeans. I think survival games should be more realistic. A single person building a fortress and guns within a day just isn't my thing.

Hello.

Well, I can't RP with you at this time. I am waiting for Not to post in Titano, and the others in APTtS and Vigil.

And, now that I think about it, 200 years is rather short to create a steampunk world after a nuclear apocalypse, so I think I'll make a few edits, and increase the number of years by a lot.

Why does it have to be nuclear? A "Neutron Purge", contagion, self regenerating murderbot or other "eco-friendly" superweapon could potentially do the same job.

Well, I wanted to be faithful to the franchises I included, but ya, those ideas would work, too. But, I already did so much, and don't feel like editing everything. Speaking of which, I made several edits here and there, the lore thread is now better, and I fixed a few paragraphs where I misinterpreted the according picture. Fixed a few typos and incorrect wording, too, so the lore thread should be fully formed. Increased the years from 200 to 500 regarding the time span since the Nuclear Holocaust, which makes more sense considering the steampunk world.
