Small spelling error, and some grammatical errors in the form of spacing. I’ve highlighted these areas. “An” is typically used before a vowel, of which the ‘D’ in ‘dagger’ is not.

Food: Do spies not get paid money? She's on a ritzy airship that's expected to travel between city to city - surely food wouldn't be a problem?

Notebook, Pens: If you use it to draw art, or write in code and burn the notes, it should be ok.

First Aid Kit: An odd thing to keep on you without medical training, but not impossible?

Camouflage Equipment, everything needed to be a spy: Incriminating evidence. Leave this behind.

Blankets: You’ve clearly never been camping, or have a Chinese packing machine in your basement. Once again, I must ask - do spies not get paid money? Why couldn't Annie’s employers afford better accommodation or resources once you reach the destination?

Also, she can light fires, but has no fire source? Can she light fires with her mind?

I was in Scouts for a few years and even with that experience and knowledge I can say with utmost confidence that I will probably die should I have to live in the wilderness.
The easiest way to make a makeshift shelter, is to simply lean a rather thick, but very long, log over a low but large branch. Then, make an A-shape by leaning smaller logs/big sticks along the sides. Once you get an A-shape, add smaller sticks/leafy branches to fill in the holes. You can then dig earthly material/leaves against the walls.

If you have threading of some sort, like yarn, you can 'weave' the logs tighter. If you don't have yarn, you can use flexible branches, like that of willow trees or cattails, to weave into the logs, and so hold them together. Then, you fill-up the ground inside the shelter with rather green leafy branches to make a ground. If you make a small fire just out the entrance, you can store lots of heat. You can eat dandelions for sustenance.

Unfortunately, I've always failed at hunting/finding meat, so I can't help out there. I've eaten dandelions, though, heh heh. Apparently, you can also eat pine tree roots: you dig em out, peel off the bark, then eat the roots. You can also, apparently, eat the inner bark, or if it's too hard, you boil them, cut them in thin strips HORIZONTALLY, and eat them that way. I have yet to try that, though.

Speaking of which, I think I should practice hunting. I did plant a few onions last year, and when they began growing the bulbs, a deer came and ate them all. I think I could grow more onions, and once the bulbs start growing, wait for a deer to come, and then kill it.

Westenev - obviously Annie is hiding in a potted plant and no one knows she is there. So much easier than simply buying a ticket.

Azi - I do know all that, but in my personal experience it's easier said than done. I'm not saying I would die immediately; I could hold out for a few weeks, assuming I don't get impaled by a moose or mauled by a bear. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

As an Ex-Scout myself, I'm sure that I would make it. :P That said, we're taught surprisingly little about our own fauna, and rarely eat our native foodstuffs. Even our game was imported.

When it comes to shelters and the like, I always tend to bring a folded tarp, a lighter, a sleeping mat and a survival blanket on any excersion. They're lightweight, and strap on easily to the bottom of any daybag - so I should last at least three days, injury notwithstanding.

That said, we don't have man-eating preditors here.

Nope to that. I already have stuff in mind, which won't change unless Fys has something of his own in mind.


Oh, and Fish (and I guess everyone else too), let me know if you have something specific in mind for people from your character backstories, because I'll be making stuff up for them at some point if you have nothing you'd like me to work with beyond what you've said. Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Excellent. OK, thanks for clarifying, but yes, easier said that done. However, if you were in a survival situation, your workload would definitely increase. I would also probably not last longer than a few weeks. I need to start practicing trapping and hunting.

I've never been in scouts. I literally had to learn everything on my own, which includes a failure rate at least 95%. But hey, you gotta keep trying. But, learning plants, flowers and mushrooms, which are edible and which are not, is a very important skill. So far, all I can do is eat wild raspberries, saskatoons, and strawberries, though wild strawberries and raspberries are no longer available. Generally speaking, you can eat some leafy plants if they're big and vegetable-like. Of course, it requires much more skill than just looking.

Good idea, a tarp that folds easily, I never thought of that.

Isn't that how overbearing families usually work?

Black Benjamin is just traveling right now, so I think it's easiest to keep him as a generic passenger, probably sitting playing cards or something somewhere.
