Rem certainly cares about the life of a single person out there, but yes, she would prefer not to sacrifice them unless there's absolutely no other option.

There's no reason to think they aren't alive, either. If they were going to be overrun and killed, she knows she'd hear something from Kestyr about it.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

That seems just as meta as well, don'tcha think? They don't know they're PCs in someone's world.

My point is that, if locking everything down and taking the time to deal with it systematically means we'd be sacrificing the rest of our soldiers, that's just not an option.

They don't. But if they're willing to make the necessary sacrifices (sacrifices which have been made countless times before, at least in the Halo universe), and decide that stopping the Necromorph Infestation/Demon Invasion is more important than the rest of the soldiers (many of whom have already died), then it is a completely valid option.

I'm not saying you should actually do it. But you shouldn't discount it as an option. Gary would probably do it if he was alone in there, although he would give everyone else a fair warning and ask the friendly ships to give a reasonable time to let them escape.

Please don't forget to post on Titanomachy. Yes I am being not patient.

I may not get a chance due to wildfires in my region. Quesnel is on evacuation alert, so I may need to evacuate if the wildfires reach this town. That means I can't RP, because there won't be internet, due to wildfires burning down buildings.

Heh, interesting discussion regarding the moral dilemma! But tough choices will be making an appearance in Titanomachy, reflecting the choices you sometimes have to make in Mass Effect 3, for example. However, time is against you, especially when Nemeroth arrives. To those who have played Warhammer 40K Space Marine, you'll get the gist. Suffice to say, that the Warp is undoubtedly the most powerful force in the role-play.

... Or you could make the ship self-destruct. Nobody important ever dies durring a self-destruct.

Ha! Well, yeah, I tend to not let main characters die. Sacrifice is an option, but if you overdo it, this will actually impact an important subplot that's 'behind the scenes'. However, I won't reveal it until later, as I need to intro the main antagonist (who can also be an ally), eventually, just need to wait for a few other things.
