Jokes aside, Westenev, here is my serious analysis: I'm going to go with the traumatic event. It gives us a clear objective to work towards. The other option could have us reliving the same day multiple times until one of us finds a lead, which could get boring pretty quickly.

Anyways, I'm did some tweaks to Echion. Magic was expanded slightly, Reaper is now called Mortem, the Order of Mortem has been added to the Guilds/Religious orders page, and I'm about to add another dimension.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

A decent enough recap of season 2 of Haruhi!
(For those of you who haven't watched Haruhi Suzumiya, the 2nd season was exectutive suicide so they wouldn't have to make more episodes. The entire season is the same episode, but with different styles of clothes... until the last episode, where everything just snaps and the protagonist manages to snap them out of the groundhog day loop)

I've actually heard of a series (underworld, I think) where this is actually a racial magical ability - the ability to revert time to a specific point through force of will (or, in gaming terms, checkpoints). That said, this would be a somewhat gamebreaking ability in a roleplay, because resetting yourself would undo the actions of other roleplayers too.

I wouldn't have an issue with that, but there might be someone who might.

An entire race has the ability to reset time?

How does anything get done?

Perfectly.

I think in that continuity, the player character is the only human in a world of monsters - and humans are the only ones who possess this ability.
