Untrue. The original three, perhaps, but since a bunch of other stuff came after them, before the prequels and the sequel, the rest can't really be called that.
Well, the entire Extended Universe has been decanonized. And the prequels were made by George Lucas himself, the original mind behind the entire thing.
The fact is that, regardless of whether we like it or not, everything we see in the movies is canon, and when compared to anything else in the EU, the movies always win, because they are the source material.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
Fair enough. I won't view it as that, because I disagree with lore-accepted stuff being shit on by rather shitty movies, but that's on me I guess.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.
Alright guys, I just built these massive rings throughout space. I shall call them Hulas. Once activated, they will purge the galaxy of all cookies. We have no choice. We must activate Hula. The menace is spreading, and must be stopped.

I have to admit, I always loved Mass Effect crew interactions - especially the bonus lines if you actively avoid talking to them between missions.
My favourite example is with how coldly my Shepard has treated Ashley since ME1... I think she was only saved on Virmire so Shepard would have a chew toy to bully.
It's no wonder she turned on me - lucky Garrus had my back.
Oh? So they do react if you don't talk to them. James did mention he thought Shepard didn't like him, or something like that. If that's the case, it makes sense, adds life to the characters.
Anyways, I ended up finalizing with the James scene, punching him a few times, then he finishes the fight with an uppercut to Shepard's sternum, crumbling her. I didn't see it coming, and it was oddly satisfying to see all-powerful Shepard unable to keep the fight going. I actually like it when games give the hero a few weak moments.
Hm, Ashley died on Virmire in ME1 for me, and I could not figure out how to save both Ashley and Kaidan. Oh well, if Ashley turns on you, good thing I left her to die.

I want to see my Arbiter swordfight a Jedi.
I was thinking of that too, I'll figure something out. I think fighting a Sith Lord would be cooler tho.
About lightsaber vs energy sword,
Well, the energy sword is more defensive, as it protects the hand better, but it seems shorter than a lightsaber. It is similar to the pata, an Indian gauntlet-sword, so it would also allow very powerful punch-like stabs. It also has two blades, so it may be better for parrying, and would leave two wounds from a stab. I think an energy sword used with a Jackal's energy shield would be a potent combo.
