Well, I hope everyone had a happy Easter! And, there weren't any terror attacks, at least to the best of my knowledge, at least not in the West, so that's good.

Well, North Korea may want to go to war, but what would it do? March to USA on foot via China, Russia, the Bering Straight, and Canada? Only to suffer extremely high attrition and near absence of supply lines? Or, if it chooses to transport via a navy, well, old-fashioned Soviet-era warships are no match for 21st century warfare, they'd be easily sunk down. North Korea would be forced on the defensive, and so make an easy target for, well, anyone. Attempts at launching giant missiles have a considerable chance of failure, so if North Korea did launch a nuke, it's likely to just have a premature explosion.

As for Europe, if I was Turkey, I could technically attack Europe very soon, seeing as its full of criminal migrants, so the prospect of an invading Islamic force would encourage migrants (who already hate the West) to go crazy in rioting and terrorism, making it easier to conquer. Next year, German left-wingers want to demilitarize Germany, so if that was successful, it'd be even easier to defeat Western Europe. However, Eastern Europe would be a much more formidable region to conquer. Although Turkey's army is huge, it is outdated, and lacks discipline and serious training and experience. I think modern warfare is evolving to lean towards elite platoons, seeing as an elite platoon can stay hidden and decimate old-fashioned battalions and terrorist compounds within an hour.

Considering all of this, anyone interested in a role-play based on all that? I was thinking a role-play based on politics, terrorism, and warfare in a modern or post-modern or near-future world, but it will include styles of warfare such as cyber warfare, biological warfare, chemical warfare, unconventional warfare, nuclear warfare, and so on, of which each user controls a certain type of warfare. Anyone interested?

I like genre's that incorperate that sort of topic into the subplot, but in reality, what can one person do against so many WOMD's? Who would you characterise as the focus of the story? The terrorists, the refugees, or the average citizen?

I'm wondering if it's time for the return of the staple superhero thread - Probably a world similar to X-men, where people obtain powers via mutation. If I can't find interest writing modern superhero fiction, I figure I can't get into writing anything anymore!

We all have our preferences Annie - From Inferi's android deathbot to Azi's like of bleak post-modernism!

(Sorry, but this is how I see you guys! ;) )

Plus 'Scions of Sorcery', 'As Demons Weaping', and 'Fallen Light' all fit your description to some degree.

Well, it depends how the thread would progress. My post-modern thread would be focused on whatever the users become. You could be a hacker, a cybernetic soldier, an android, a terrorist, a refugee fleeing oppression and just falling into more oppression, a police officer, a mother just living life, or what have you. But ya, my ideas tend to be bleak, I don't blame you for having that opinion. Ha, maybe that's why I like Dark Souls so much, it's a journey through a heartless, dark, miserable, dying world, with blackness in the end.

Interesting you should mention X-Men, I did suggest a superhero thread some time ago, though if I recall correctly, Inferi was not interested. I had suggested a superhero thread somewhat similar to Batman, Spawn, and Shadowman: a mix of cities, crime, corrupt cops, betrayal, and even demons and hell. The idea was we play as a character, who died/got betrayed/left to die, gets sent to hell as you were a prick your entire life, but you escape hell whilst acquiring superpowers, and must embark on vengeance before the demons find you.
