Happy Easter guys!

I'm not quite sure we have the staffing for a fast-paced roleplay, but how exactly would it work?

Have you ever played Bravely Default? I kind of got the idea from there.

Basically during a dangerous situation like a fight, players spend points to perform actions. when the situation begins every player has a point, and then every, say, Thursday and Saturday (because posting is probably easier around weekends) you get a pint. The more points you have, the more actions you can take in one go but the more vulnerable you become, the idea is that it encourages players to post if they haven't for a while. If you leave the thread for too long your character can get killed.

So it's like a posting limiter that stops the story progressing too far before a person can act?

Action Points? Hm, my latest role-play, Scions of Sorcery, does have a point-based system for character creation on its associated disciplines, which grant skills, abilities, wealth, and magic. Then, after a quest is done, each character is granted an additional spent point to spend, which has happened for two of Wolf's characters so far. Annie's character Poca overspent, so she missed the first ''point spending''. I found that this point-based limitation for powers helps remove overpowered characters, and so at times, characters must rely on what they already know to overcome situations.

I also think that ''action points'' would slow things down by quite a bit. Action points are best left for book-based role-play, like MYFAROG or the various Lord of the Rings role-plays. Since online textual role-playing is basically multiple people taking turns writing a story, I feel it's best to maximize opportunity.

Anyways, I beat Dark Souls some time ago, Soul of Cinder was a very fun boss fight. As crazy as this will sound, after I ran out of Estus, I traded a hit with Gwyn, and killed him. When I checked my status, I literally had 1 HP left! I did not use any spells or anything either, but my Life Ring basically saved me in that boss fight. I didn't know what to do afterwards, as I didn't want to link the fire, so I summoned the Firekeeper and brought a world of darkness, but she did say, and more than once, that flames will dance, presumably meaning that, in the future, the world will come anew. It was a rather cool yet unexciting ending, as I was in my dragon form for it, and as the game darkened, I made my character walk away, towards the entrance of the boss arena, I am asked if I can still hear the Firekeeper, and the game ends in blackness, echoing the Leave the Throne ending from Dark Souls 2.

XD Ha! That would have been funny, never thought of that, tho. I still think a Path of the Dragon ending would be cool, or maybe there already is such an ending? Maybe I'll find out next playthrough. If anyone's interested, I had 198 hours of gameplay time, the same hours in my playthrough of Dark Souls 2 SotFS, curiously enough.

You actually can attack the firekeeper. You get an alternate ending.

Probably the only objectively bad ending in the game. You don't even get an achievement.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

I never would have guessed that you could attack the Firekeeper before the ending. It'd never even cross my mind, actually. Shows what I know about gaming.

Lately, playing through Mass Effect 3.

Anyways, turns out I won't be leaving to Texas this month, maybe late next month instead. In the meantime, after April, everyone should be done their exams, and hopefully we'll be able to continue RPing.
