Well, I often die all the time everywhere I go, so it takes some time for me to adjust. I'm pretty sure the knee-walking boss won't be as hard as Lud and Zallen.

I would recommend you just do it on a new playthrough, before you fight Yhorm (also, make sure Yhorm is your second Lord of Cinder.) The pay-off is really great, and it won't quite turn out the same if Yhorm is already dead. Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
