Yes, Ancient, I did notice those details, and was surprised there was enough holy water in the pond to still hurt demons. The reaction of the beast-Naga female will be one of surprise as well, as she'll consider that maybe the pond is acidic or something, and give a chance for the two-legged forces to do something. I will try to RP in the swampland, but after Olympics, tonight, I hope.

I've recently been watching the new Gundam, and realised something didn't quite sit right. The Two handed "mace" the titular robot wields seems much more like an oversized jousting lance designed for stabbing - but after some googling, apparently some maces did in fact have pointed ends above the head that seem suitable for impaling.

As someone who typically thought of maces as crushing weapons, I wonder if they were used similarly to mounted lances? Or were these pointed ends entirely ornamental?

I guess I'll try to scrape together a post on Inferi's thread tomorrow. Other than that I'm not really needed anywhere, but I have been checking in daily to make sure no plot has advanced significantly since a few days ago. :P
I just play FFXIV at this point. DC: Crystal

Gundam Wing? I remember that as a little kid, but I didn't want it regularly, just like everything else I did. But yes, some maces have a central spike protruding from the top; all the weight behind the head means it would deliver quite a lot of thrusting force. But yes, maces tend to be concussive weapons. A very interesting kind of morning star, dating to the 1400s, had a head with four gun barrels inside, the head also being a hinged lid, allowing the wielder to load it, shoot it, and then use the gun's mace head-like body, covered with spikes, as a brutal metal spiked club.

As for two-handed maces, they are strictly infantry weapons. The Maciejowski Bible depicts two-handed knobbed clubs and maces, but never on horseback. Two-handed axes and two-handed scythe-like swords are also depicted used on horseback, but never a two-handed concussive weapon.

Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans; more specifically, the Gundam Barbatos, who wields what seems to be a flanged mace atop a polearm. As far as I know, however, polearms in Europe were commonly limited to blades, axes, hammers and pikes - never anything like a mace.

I wonder if such a weapon could be effective in a battlefield.

Original message details are unavailable.
notes: the suitcase Annie had possessed a primitive radio of some kind, which was detected by the strange guttural voices the Black Hand member contacted while in the inn. They mentioned the areas they would be travelling to, to intercept the signal.

Is the radio going off at present, or would they have to open the suitcase to hear it?
