And my statement still applies. I think he's smart enough to know that trying to give a teaching session in the middle of an extremely dangerous place isn't something that should be done.

Besides, Annie already seems to have excellent control of her abilities.
Done in by the dubious doings of destiny.

Well, if gods are not actually the personifications of an ideal, then my statement about them not coexisting would be incorrect and flawed. I know less than I really should to have been fully participating in the discussion, but I did not think that the gods were so human-like.

All gods, with the exceptions of Zaros and Seren, were born as mortals, and only ascended to godhood by either killing a god (elder weapons like the Staff of Armadyl are a great help, although I don't know if they are actually necessary) or absorbing a ton of energy from an elder artifact (the Stone of Jas.) Zamorak ascended by boosting himself up on Stone of Jas steroids and then impaling Zaros with the Staff of Armadyl, while Guthix got an Elder Sword and used it to shank a god in his sleep. Bandos killed the god who was protecting his homeland from a meteor storm, effectively destroying his own world. Armadyl almost definitely killed somebody as well, considering he was the one who brought the staff to Gielnor.

Zaros and Seren themselves were created as gods, by an Elder Goddess named Mah, who was pretty much braindead and used them as playthings. Zaros was like "**** this, off I'm off to explore space!" while Seren was like "No, no, we must care for mother" but eventually left on her own as well.

Mah would then go on to create the Mahjarret, who are considered to be Tier 7 divine beings. Just to explain the Tier system to you real quick:

Tier 1 - Elder Gods.
Tier 2 - Zaros, Seren, and Guthix.
Tier 3 - Saradomin and Bandos.
Tier 4 - Armadyl and Zamorak.
Tier 5 - Tumeken (desert god), Marimbo (monkey god) and Brassica Prime (cabbage god)
Tier 6 - Demi-gods like Icthlarin and Amascut. Weren't affected by the Guthixian Edicts.
Tier 7 - Avatars and Aspects. The Mahjarret, many of the desert 'gods', and the Bandos Avatar from the Chosen Commander.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.

Annie,
Dirk is mentioned to be a magician of some kind. The class list in the thread details the conventional means the magic-users go for, though magic in general is like that of fantasy games and movies, we know what magic is, so it's not a big deal describing it. Users are free to list their bios' magical powers if they want.

The Runescape gods are upjumped mortals with sufficient power as to qualify as gods (ala Arran in ITF,) rather than being physical manifestations of certain concepts. The concepts that become associated with them are due to their moral outlook and interactions with the world rather than any divine providence.

When you think about it, Arran is basically Guthix, while Soahc is basically Sliske.

Keep in mind that the tier system is non-canon, and isn't the be-all-to-end-all in terms of ability or potential. This is actually referenced by Zaros in the quest "Fate of the Gods".

The Staff of Armadyl is actually a power conduit, not a weapon. When Zamorak impaled himself on Zaros, the staff transferred Zaros's energy to Zamorak - accidentally turning Zamorak into a god. It is presumed that the Sword of Guthix, another elder artefact capable of slashing rifts through space, has similar properties - and the Stone of Jas seems able to enhance godly powers (as seen with when Guthix upped himself to Tier 2).

As a siphon, I don't think the Staff actually needs to kill a god to transfer power (Zaros isn't dead, is he?). Sliske killed Guthix because his death would bring about a new age of change. Considering we have already chatted to Guthix about his death centuries prior, I'm sure he had a part to play in the plan too - made all the more obvious when you realise Sliske did not become a god.
