Camouflaged catapults unleashed a volley of stones, one of which glanced the top of the gate, splintering the strong oak wood it was crafted from. Aiden suddenly appeared a top the wall, and after pulling himself on top he reached back down to pull up his brother, and after Caden was safe, he dragged their half eaten corpse over the wall with them. Several guards appeared stunned they’d try to bring it with them, but were forced to ignore it as arrows began to rain down once more.

The undead legion began clanging their sword pommel against their shields to create an intimidating metallic noise as they steadily marched forward. Projectiles glanced off their sturdy, yet crude armor, some ignored the fact arrows were lodged in their bodies, few actually died from the incoming attacks. Several more boulders were slung and some unlucky warriors disappeared into a mist of blood and flying limbs. The gray skinned siege engineers aimed for the gate and walls with the next volley of stone. The barbarians formed up and prepared for another round of close quarters mash up.

The next volley smashed into the gate but surprisingly did not cause it to collapse. Eckhard raised his shield to block an arrow, and then glanced at his courageous men, he couldn’t ask for a better group of people to die with. The next volley of stones came cascading down, and smashed the gate partially open. The legion pushed and heaved on the damaged gate, but a massive horned minotaur shoved his way through them and used a massive club to finally smash it down. It stood atop a pile of rubble and let out a hellish roar as the horde poured in.

An extremely unfriendly melee erupted with the mostly unorganized armies smashing into each other and ripping one another apart. The massive brothers were easily the definition of the frontline for the barbarians. They stood like trees that no blade could cut and slowly worked their way forward, hoping more would follow behind.

Lowe and Anastasia noticed several zombies had karamthulhu’s latched to their heads from their vantage point atop a roof, these undead seemed to be much more difficult to kill and more skilled at combat; one had four arrows in his torso.

Caden noticed a warrior creeping up behind him, but was busy dealing with two others. He shoved them away and lifted his sword to decapitate the attacker, but Forrest suddenly ran by and took off the head with a quick swing of his hatchet. Aiden realized the warrior prince and princess were to the left of him, and the chief to the right. He roared loudly and pressed on. He swiped his axe horizontally, and took off several heads before his axe was stuck in a torso. The sheer weight of his weapon made armor almost useless against it, since even if the blade did*’t slice or cut, your bones would surely crumble.

His brother noticed a gray skinned man with a squid latched to his head. He thrusted his massive blade through the stomach of the lightly armored enemy. He was shocked by a sudden blow to his head by the man’s sword, his helmet protected him from any serious harm. Zorn forced his spear through the man’s skull, “Brain damage!” he shouted over the chaotic clanging of metal on metal.

“Brain damage!” he shouted to Aiden, who split a skull in half and was pleased to see it was instant death for the mind-controlled soldiers, that is, if they gave you time to attack their head.

Forrest skillfully flanked from behind and began stabbing and slashing into the backs of enemy troops with his hatchet and combat knife. The lightweight hatchet was easy for his strong arms to swing with one hand.

The undead frontline pulled back and was replaced entirely with mind controlled warriors, who began dominating the barbarians. Anastasia and Lowe’s arrows fruitlessly bounced off the rampaging minotaur’s thick armor, and felt like they simply couldn’t harm it. They turned their attention to killing the new frontline. It was difficult to land headshots from their distance, but it did*’t stop them from trying.

Aiden and Caden both noticed the minotaur crush a trio of brave warriors with one swing, and decided it was their duty to kill it. They both tackled it at the same time, knocking it off it’s feet, Moric quickly unlatched it’s helmet and pulled it off to expose the head. It shoved them off and bucked Moric away with his massive horns, but Moric’s high quality armored saved him from any serious harm. He unharmed and was forced to fight several zombies to reach the brothers.

The two wrestled the huge beast tirelessly, until Caden finally managed to smash his sword into the exposed head, but disturbingly, it did not die. It punched Caden in the face but before it could make another move, Aiden finished cracking open his skull with another strong blow with his axe. It finally slumped into the ground without life.

The two did*’t speak a word, but merely highfived one another as they stepped back into the fray, feeling completely invincible.

Forrest leapt from the ground to a window, used his hatchet to climb onto the roof of a simple home, and then leapt to the wall where he sliced down several enemy archers who were too focused on shooting to notice him. The last one remaining turned to shoot at him, but he sliced his bow in half, before kicking him off the wall with a grin.

Anastasia tossed what appeared to be a pot with a fuse sticking through the lid into the ranks of the undead, it exploded and sent a shower of body parts raining down “What was that?” Lowe asked curiously, as he put an arrow through the eye of an attacker.

“Bomb.” she said with a big smile as she began tossing them down one after the other. The battle suddenly shifted in favor of the barbarians. With each bomb tossed a shower of organs and limbs rained from the sky with a pink mist beginning to form. Lowe paused briefly to watch the carnage, before continuing to snipe important targets with his home made arrows.

Another loud trumpet blast came from behind the barbarian forces, and a sudden sea of white was visible. The tiring barbarians were replaced with energetic and skilled White Knights of Falador. With their huge swords and amazing armor they marched in at a steady pace, and left nothing alive in their wake. In a matter of minutes the amazing fighting force had completely obliterated the enemy force, and what remained fell back in a retreat, though the knights weren’t done just yet. Lightly armored men in white hoods sprinted in from behind the enemy flank and cut them down, leaving very few to successfully escape back to their camp.

Anastasia hopped down from the roof, followed by Lowe. The others migrated towards a man who seemed to be in charge. He wore a Saradomin symbol, and was completely dressed in white with a hood over his head. He lowered the hood and shook hands with Eckhard and Crunge “My name is Anjel, I have been sent by the declaration of the Divine Ones to assist you lift the siege of your village.

“Divine Ones?” Eckhard asked.

“We are one of the many agencies operating under the government of Falador.” he explained, his voice was soft yet powerful, and he almost seemed to emit a white glow. He turned to face Anastasia “Those exploding pots you were tossing seem impressive, did you manufacture them yourself?”

“Yes.” she replied dully, she was curious as to why he asked.

“Fantastic, produce more if you can, we will need them to free Varrock,” he removed a map and several notes from his pockets “The city is being held hostage not by invaders obviously, but by some odd cultists, loyal to a strange and evil god known as Kara-”

“We know.” Lowe said with an expression of boredom on his face.

“Oh,” he seemed momentarily shocked “well then, my plan is to go in quietly, locate their headquarters, and then neutralize them with a small team of elite...”

“We’ve already worked that plan out.” Aiden laughed.

“And they hidin’ in tha Palace.” Forrest informed him.

“And I guess you have a crack team of stealth experts, too?” he asked with a smirk.

“I do.” Eckhard grinned with his big teeth. Anjel did*’t trust a barbarian warlord for stealth experts, he had seen how they fight... loudly. His team consisted of hand picked elites who had endured months of special training to reach their level of skill.

They sat down at the huge oak longhouse table and began refining their plan of action. The barbarians and knights did*’t seem to have problems getting along, as they were both very much the same. Both enjoyed violence, both trained at it, the difference being one wore armor and the other did*’t.

“You five are elite warriors of stealth?” Anjel asked doubtfully.

“No,* Caden started.

“They are.” Aiden finished, pointing to Lowe, Anastasia, and Forrest. They all looked much slimmer, and he felt like they could be helpful, after all he did see the tall woman and eyepatch wearing man preform excellently with bow and arrow. He wasn’t sure about the other man, but he seemed extremely fit, and could probably be useful.

“And who is he?” Anjel asked, pointing to Moric.

“I’m a mercenary most of the time, but the plan states I stay behind with the village to help protect it.”

“Very well then,” he shuffled through some papers “we’ll be going in with a total of forty four troops,” he glanced around the room, behind him stood twenty men who did nothing but train and kill for a living. They wore either white chainmail or bleached dragon hide so it appeared to be white as well, a few even wore full plate. To complete their outfits, they had a Saradomin symbol some where on their body, and all wore white hooded cloaks. Opposite to them stood the fierce and painted barbarian warriors, leanly muscled with countless years of combat experience behind them.

They began hastily fine tuning their plan and the preparations were going smoothly.

Varrock Palace...

An unusually cheerful mood blanketed the Palace.

A random gang member spotted them first, but soon everyone saw them and cheerful celebration began. There was now a total of twenty Karamthulhu Overlords stationed in the castle, waiting patiently for nightfall.

Azura slept late, and was just waking. Almost as soon as she opened her door to peek outside, she noticed a little squid thing walking across the ground, several guards followed it. She wasn’t sure what to think. She left her room, then thought back to Ko talking about how karamthulhu were the chosen creatures of their god, so one way or another some of the somehow ended up here.

She slowly walked out into the red carpet lined hallway, and decided she might be able to get breakfast, and maybe find Johnny.

Truand wasn’t feeling so hot, he dropped his used up cigarette on the ground and extinguished it under his designer shoe. “Boss man, knock knock!” he shouted as he pounded on Tuflos’ door.

“What?” he said from behind him.
