Anastasia was quickly surprised at the difficulty of swimming in a situation like this, but she had already consumed a fifth of vodka, and the dangers of reality were slightly dimmed, she did a good job of controlling her heart rate as she swam with all her strength towards the unidentified man. Every time he went under the water, he almost instantly came back up, but he was starting to take a few seconds longer each time, but finally, she had reached him. He instinctively grabbed onto her, pulling her under slightly, but she was a very strong woman, she was slender, but very muscular, and overall very healthy, aside from her drinking problems.
She pulled him above the waves, and managed to get a good look at him, what an odd looking man, with his slightly slanted eyes.. “I’ve got you, no worries!”, she hollered over the pounding rain and roaring thunder. She struggled hard to keep the two of them floating, even dipping under the water a few times. A sharp pain suddenly jolted across her body; the rope ladder had struck her in the head, she went under the water, disappearing from sight from the men onboard the ship. She resurfaced after around five seconds, the man was holding onto the ladder, but waiting for her, his hand extended outward, he assisted her onto the ladder, and the two quickly found a new challenge awaiting them.
The rope was slippery, and due to the ship tilting, would slam against the haul, the man almost fell off, just barely hanging by one arm, he managed to pull himself back. Aiden and Caden began to pull the ladder up, allowing the two to rest their muscles. As they neared the top of the deck, Bentley, and Lowe pulled the two to safety, Anastasia was bleeding from the top of her head, and short of breath, but otherwise alright. The man she had rescued was covered in bruises, cuts, and even had some minor burn wounds.
