Anastasia emerged from the bedroom she had awaken in, and followed the smell of food into the kitchen, breakfast was served. Aiden and Caden’s plates were oversized, and overflowing with the food they had prepared. As the four ate their fill, both Lowe and Anastasia were unable to finish their plates, which probably held enough food for a small family.

Azura eventually found her way to the house and was happy about it, as she explained what had happened, inspiring much laughter out of the others. The twins promised not to mention it, and they wouldn’t, that is, until they were stuck on the ship with him, it would be funnier that way. After they finished eating, the five headed outside, everyone was ready, even the hung over Anastasia. They found Forrest outside with his love, and they quickly introduced themselves, and had a very brief conversation before they finally set out.

“I’m warning you..” an old, hoarse voice said from behind them.

“Oh shut it, you old goat.” Lokar, Searunner said in an irritated voice, he was waiting mere feet from the group near a large rowboat. Ignoring him, Peer the Seer continued.

“I have witnessed a great, unstoppable storm in my visions, and you will not return from your voyage the same should you head out now.” He said, using his hands to help illustrate his point. Not wanting to start an argument, or waste more time, the group simply ignored the man as they walked past him, and one by one, silently loaded up into the rowboat. Searunner was the last to get in, giving the old seer a dirty look before shoving off.

Lokar sat down, and took a wooden case from a small bag he wore around his neck, he removed a cigar and lit it up before he began to row. He somehow seemed to enjoy his simple job, he was in his own rhythm, his own world simply rowing . “So, how do you manage to offer this service for free?” Azura asked, as she was growing bored.

“We get paid by both the Lunar Clan, and the Fremmnnik council fer inspirin’ peace amongst one another, relationships are steadily getting better.” He said before smiling, “There she is!” he said pointing towards the massive pirate vessel, simply named “Swag.” It was stunningly huge, and beautiful. The group climbed a ladder from the rowboat, to the dock, they were briefly inspected by two cliché looking ‘pirates’, before being allowed up another ladder and onto the Swag.

As the six scanned over the deck, they noticed the hanging laterns, a bustling crew of swashbucklers either gambling, or attending to the dozens of cannons and weapon aboard. A tall man, wearing a large flamboyant hat approached them, he had a large red over coat, with many fancy looking bucklers, and perhaps the most eye catching feature, was his massive black hat, which had several large feathers of different colors stuck in it. “Welcome aboard.”, he said with a smile, and a bow. “I am Captain Bentley.”

“I’m glad that damn, Peer the lunatic hasn’t scared off everyone in all of Rellekka, though, only two of you look native…” The impressive looking Captain paused and leaned over the railing of the ship “What interests do the rest of you have in the Lunar Isles?” he asked with great curiosity, as he closely examined his six new passengers.

“Just a vacation.” Lowe said as he walked past Bentley, the rest of the group followed. Bentley did*’t seem all that eager to give them a tour of the ship, or do anything for them for that matter.

“Well if you need any help, don’t think twice about asking one of my, many helpful, and qualified crew.” He told them, as they slowly began panning out, exploring the massive ship. Anastasia looked over his crew, and couldn’t help but to laugh, “helpful and qualified”, she thought to herself, as she watched the filthy looking pirates toss dice, and pass around bottles of alcohol in unlabeled bottles. The ship was a massive contrast to its crew, it was clean and beautiful, with awesome decorations and stunning carvings. Roughly thirty minutes passed aboard, before they untied the ship and released the sails. Lowe crossed his arms and watched as the crewmen climbed all over the rigging and ropes and finally released the sails, it was an interesting show.

The ship picked up speed, perhaps it was the design, or the powerful winds being brought in from the imminent storm, or both. The winds were unforgiving, and chilling down to the bone, just as Aiden and Caden had warned beforehand. The thick jackets and coats the six had packed, were almost immediately fashioned, for the winds were far too relentless to deal with otherwise. The day dragged on, with little happening, the rooms were mostly sleeping quarters, and a large section of the ship was an armoury, containing massive amounts of black powder. As Forrest continued exploring, he found their stock of weapons was amazing.

There was a number of guards stationed outside the massive, thick steel doors that were kept locked, but since Forrest was a guest, he was allowed to enter, with a guard on either side of him. He found racks of swords, spears, axes, and a large amount of other common melee weapons. Further in the armoury, were large, and small barrels filled with black powder, for the countless cannons aboard the vessel. Perhaps, most interesting were the number of handcannons, an almost completely unseen weapon, was on this pirate ship in a relatively large numbers. It’s no wonder they were hired to ferry passengers, this was probably the most combat capable ship on the seas.

As the hours rolled on, it was quickly the early evening, and the ships many chefs went to work preparing dinner. Lowe and Anastasia found the stern of the ship to be amazingly beautiful, although freezing cold. The hot dinner they were given to eat did nothing to fight back the bitterness, but the full moon and hanging laterns were simply too pretty to pass up. As Lowe poured another glass of wine, he couldn’t help but to admire his dinner partner’s beauty.

Unfortunately for him, as soon as he tried to comment on her looks, the winds violently began to gust, knocking the red wine into his lap, and numbing their faces, a sudden crack of thunder and the rain was pouring once more, only it felt more like rocks, the two quickly fled into the cabin which was directly behind them. Not wanting to go back into the rain to make their way below deck, they managed to fall asleep on a couch.

The storm became even more violent as the hours rolled by, and soon lightning was flashing every few seconds, the winds were making the ship tilt wildly, and the crew was threatened with more than the flu, as the huge waves began landing into the deck, knocking over the sailors, and even causing a few to nearly fall into the waters below. It was a normal storm, one they had dealt with before, but what was not normal, were the odd tentacle bearing creatures which were continually swept onto the deck by the waves, one huge eye in comparison to the rest of its body. The crew tossed them back to the sea, but were becoming concerned as the creatures cut a few of the crew mates somehow, the bleeding was bad, but far from fatal.

A burly, and brave man grabbed one of the odd blue things, and carried it below deck, towards the captain’s quarters. Azura was having a casual conversation with a few crewmen about the weather, as all three of them eyed the large man, holding the odd looking creature, as he carried the thing down the hall and towards Bentley’s cabin. Bursting through the decorated oak doors, he began to speak “My sincerest apologies Cap’n, but we felt like we should show you these things, that keep washing up on deck.” He held the, almost silly looking sea dweller before the captain. He lowered his glass of wine to more carefully examine it.

“Well, that’s not a good sign.” Bentley said after several seconds of poking the creature, and carefully noting all of its features. “Don’t use your hands to remove them from the ship.” He said as he stirred his wine with his index finger “And make sure to keep ALL of them off the ship, I want men ensuring this is done throughout the night, is that understood?”

“Aye sir, I’ll wake some grunts to help wiv’ the task… but Cap’n, may I ask, what the hell these things are?” he shook the creature slightly, and patiently awaited an answer.
