We were heroes once. When the Ghiak Feith came from beyond the Outer Veil, we were unprepared. They invaded our solar system, and we were spurred into a sudden war we were not prepared for. But one thing remains constant - our ability to adapt, and push science further than we had ever pushed it before.

We fought back.

By the time the Seyrens' navies came to save us, we had already pushed the Ghiak Feith back repeatedly. And with their aid, we defeated them. With their aid, we improved our technology. We learned that ours was not the only system the Ghiak Feith had attacked. They were invading the galaxy, and other planets became battlefields. It was an all-out war, one that we eventually won in the end, though millions of lives were lost in the process.

It was our crew though that had won the day. We managed to sneak past the Ghiak Feith's defences, and attacked their leader - Karshok. With his death, the Ghiak Feith's willpower crumbled, and they fled. They have gone unseen and unheard for about five years now, and things have massively changed since.

The human race joined the Galactic Empire that had arisen between the most prominant races, and everyone tried their best to forget the war against the Ghiak Feith. The Galactic Empire strove to rebuild what had been lost. But what of the heroes that had saved the day?

We were reminders of the Great War. They were grateful at first. But then they started shunting us aside, and tried to bury any memory of us. Most of us, they tried to lock away for petty crimes. Even my own father - a highly respected military leader, and my mother - a well known gentle ambassador, pushed us as far from them as possible. And so eventually, like most desperate people, we turned to a life of crime and smuggling.

Hello. Hi. Welcome. Many years ago, a small few may recall the first rendition of this thread. Well, now I've remade it. With tweaks. It is a sci-fi roleplay inspired by Star Wars and Mass Effect, and it is semi-sandboxy. But for all you know, there might ACTUALLY be a story! Join in and find out!

Rules

1. All Jagex rules apply, see Specific Rules on the front page of the roleplaying forums for and the Code of Conduct on the front page of the main forums for details.

2. No spamming, trolling, flaming or advertising on this thread. This is strictly a roleplaying thread only.

3. Keep things relatively PG-13. If you start romancing characters, you will be expected not to write about the more intimate details of their relationships. No ERP.

4. You may play any alien race provided by this thread save for the Ghiak Feith. They are strictly a NPC race to be played by the Thread Master only.

5. No godemoting or meta-gaming. You are expected not to force any character to act or react a certain way.

6. For whatever reason, a previous rule was to add "sparkly dice" to your bio to prove you have read these rules. As I have no better ideas, this rule is reinstated.

7. Do not push me. I have made this thread for the purposes of roleplaying. And while I will be providing a loose storyline, please bear in mind I also have a life to handle. I will not able to react straight away to every single post.

Races

Humans:
Pretty standard. Not much to say, they come from the planet Earth from the Solar System.

Kathiss:
A race of humanoids with feline qualities. They tend to be fairly small beings, with cat ears and tails, and their skin tends to come in various shades of browns and greys, with markings. Like cats. They have slit pupils and yellow-orange eyes, in some cases green. Some of their qualities are speed, agility and a certain disregard for the rules. Their home planet is Mowzen.

Seyrens:
A tall race of humanoids. These tend to be purple skinned, with serene features. Their hair colours can range from white all the way through purple and to black. Their eye colours tends to be blues or pinks. Some of their qualities include sharp reactions, intelligence, and tactical knowledge. Their home planet is Kerisa.

A’kasa:
A race of lizard-like humanoids. They tend to be covered in scales, have a certain snake-like quality to their faces and can range from greens to browns to oranges to greys. Some of their qualities include a savage brutality, strength and durability. Their home planet is Kash’ka.

If you would like to play a race that isn’t on here, please let me know by posting the name of the race, a description and the name of their home planet. Do not use this as an excuse to create super OP races. And no religious figures.

Weapons and Accessories

The following are examples of items that your characters may possess. You are not limited to these specific items, and may come up with items of your own. However, again let's not make something stupid, like a rocket launcher.

Vibroblade:
A simple sword with a small power supply in the hilt, which runs an electic current through the blade, causing a slight humming vibration and a lot of pain to whoever it connects with.

Electro stave:
A stave that can open out to three, four, five and six feet, with a button on the edge of the hilt of the staff to lock it in place. At each end is a ball of pure electricity kind of like a taser in between two sharp pins.

Stun rod:
Self-explanatory really. A small metallic stick of about two feet in length, which stuns. If any part of you is hit by the rod, it goes numb. If struck on the head, the target usually loses consciousness.

Blaster pistol:
A pistol that fires small bursts of lasers. Not as powerful as a blaster rifle, but can still hurt, and kill.

Blaster rifle:
A two handed gun that fires lasers at a normal rate.

Stun gun:
A small gun much like the blaster pistol, but fires small bursts of electricity that can stun the target. Kind of like the stun rod, but ranged.

Crossbow:
A modified version of its ancestor, the crossbow is equipped to fire lasers, but can also fire specially modified bolts that can be the equivalent of a stun rod.

Shields

These generally come in the form of wrist/arm bands, and run a powered shield over the skin of the wearer, deflecting varied amounts of damage.

Standard shield:
deflects 50% of blaster damage, and lasts for about ten minutes at a time, and requires five minutes to recharge.

Military shield:
Deflects 50% of blaster damage, lasts for fifteen minutes at a time and requires five minutes to recharge. Has a 40% chance to neutralize shots from stun guns, but wearer will take damage as though the stun shot were a normal blaster shot (without the 50% taken off).

Kerisan shield:
Deflects 30% of blaster damage, lasts for twenty minutes at a time and requires ten minutes to recharge. Neutralizes stun shots and stuns from stun rods, and wearer will take damage as though it were a normal hit, but deflects 30% of damage if fired at by a ranged weapon.

Wrist computer:
A small band worn on the wrist, which can bring up a light display of a small, basic computer. Can be used to hack certain files, open locked energy doors, communicate with people on a comm link and has a basic search function that allows the wearer to search up basic things like weaponry and public profiles.

Appearance: Jaden might have once been neat and tidy in her appearance, but now she has taken on a more careless look. Her vibrant coppery hair is partially tied back with a simple elastic hairband, while the rest hangs down her back to her waist. A few wisps hang forward, partially framing what was once a plump heart-shaped face - but now the cheeks are gaunt and hollow, the sharp angles of her jaw and chin more noticable. Her lips are artifically coloured a deep red, standing out against milky-pale skin. Her eyes are of an almond shape, framed by long thick black eyelashes, and the irises are of an icy blue. She wears a red contact lense that holds a form of scanner within it, causing everything she sees in that eye to be digitilised.

Otherwise, she is around 5'7" and retains a relatively slender form with some muscle to her - the product of a lot of combat. Her wide-set hips and a D-cup bust lend an hourglass figure to her overall appearance.

Normal clothing: Jaden keeps it simply. A thin leather sleeveless tunic hugs her torso, buttoned up the middle. Paired with this is a set of black leggings and a low slung belt from which she hangs her pistols. A pair of heavy black combat boots cover her feet, laced all the way to just below her knees.

Armour: The peak of lightweight wearable armour. There are thick bands around her wrists, waist, thighs and ankles, with a button on the side of her left wristband. When activated, slender plates of metal slide out to cover her entire form in black matte armour. It is completed when she puts on the black headband to match it all, which unfolds into a helmet.

Job: Captain. The Boss. The Big Cheese, as it were.

Short history: Jaden was the Captain that led her crew onto the Ghiak Feith flagship of Karshok, where they slew him. At first, they were lauded as heroes. But as time went by, the Council tarnished their shining images with accusations of crime and disloyalty. Eventually, Jaden's own parents disowned her when they too fell for the lies that surrounded her and her crew. Eventually, desperation pushed her to a life of piracy and crime. The most loyal of her crew remained with her.
