Was this prison? It did not look like any prison he had ever seen. But then again, he did not have in-depth experience with every nation's prison system.

Harry clenched his fists in anger, more at himself than anyone else. This was what he got for involved in something he had no business being involved in! He just had to play the hero, didn't he? Now he had no idea where he was, and some bastard had stolen his gun and his clothes.

He picked up a sock, and immediately began looking for something small and heavy that could fit inside it, so it could be swung like a flail. He saw nothing. So, he tossed it aside. If he wore shoes it would be harder for him to sneak, and if he just wore socks he would be more likely to slip. Instead, he would go barefoot.

He picked up a shoe and examined it in his hands. Maybe, if he swung it hard enough, it could do some damage. Failing that, he could throw it to either distract or stun somebody. It was better than nothing.

Harry made his way toward the door, and was surprised when it opened automatically. So he wasn't being held here. Or at least, not in this specific room. He cautiously crept out into the next room.

" Not the afterlife I was expecting... "

Isaac found himself unusually calm upon awakening in the small room, rising to sit up within seconds of consciousness - his surroundings taken in quickly but without alarm. Two situations had immediately stood out to him in his mind, the first being that whatever gas he and the others had been exposed to was actually lethal, the other being that he wasn't dead yet and instead was being held somewhere. In which case, panicking wasn't going to get him anywhere and rushing wouldn't get him out of there.

It didn't take too long to decide he probably wasn't dead. Yet. He gave the socks and shoes on the ground a brief look-over, and feel, before putting them on oncde he was satisfied they weren't hiding any hidden tricks. Why would they? Old habit after finding a baby Long-sting hiding in one of his boots a few years ago.

He stood and approached the door first - surprised when it slid open to reveal a larger room beyond. Not a luxury prisoners usually got from what he knew. Then again, prisoners didn't normally get pleasant cells like this one, an en-suite bathroom or clothes like this. Just where in the hells was he? With little other choice he placed a hand on the doorframe and stepped through into the next room, looking around.

The room that everyone’s doors opened into was the same one, and it was much larger than the personal space that they had awoken to. It was perhaps a hundred and twenty feet long by thirty feet wide, and the ceiling was about fifteen feet above their heads. The material used to make every surface was the same as it had been in their rooms, and the lights on the ceiling were similarly designed, placed every several feet and lighting up the room brightly but in a way that was not uncomfortable to the eyes.

Unlike the personal rooms, this room was furnished quite a bit more. There were chairs and couches arranged at many places throughout the room, with a majority of the comfortable ones set up in a way reminiscent of a normal house’s main room. There was a long table with chairs a short way away from that that looked to be emulating a dining room, and beyond that the rest of the room was mostly empty, as if something else had been planned to go there but hadn’t been put together yet.

The walls were all smooth, devoid of anything, save for the doors themselves. Along one wall, the one that everyone would have been looking out from, there was a large number of doors, each one presumably leading to a room like their own. There were twelve doors, one every ten feet along the wall. On the opposite side, there was only one door, and it was exactly in the middle of the wall.

If one was standing in front of the single door and facing where everyone was exiting from, Annie would be the second door from the left wall, Elizabeth would be the third, Rory would be the sixth, Harry would be the ninth, and Isaac would be the eleventh. The area mimicking the house’s main room would be over in front of where Annie’s door was.

Every door in the room had the same small light above it that the personal rooms had on the inside. At the moment, all the doors anyone was coming out of would have a green light, while all the closed ones would be red. The one on the far side of the room was no exception, and the light above it was red as well.

There was only one person out in the other room, and that was the writer from before. She was sitting over in the living area, her legs tucked up against her chest with her chin resting on her knees. Her clothing was the same as everyone else, and the lack of anything writing-related around her indicated that it had been taken away as well. As everyone started to move into the room, she turned away from them slightly, not saying anything to any of them.

Annie still felt very confused what was going on as she left her room because she didn't understand how she got here and what's going on. She looked around the room and she saw a normal house’s main room that made her surprised and shocked. She has many questions.

That's when she saw another person on one of the couches with her legs tucked up against her chest with her chin resting on her knees and she was wearing the same clothes as her. She recognized her from being in the basement before they got here. She sat on one of the couches and said in a calm voice," Hello. My name is Annie. What is your name? Do you know where we are?"

Harry Richard

No foes awaited him on the other side of the door, only those who had been with him when he was captured. Still, Harry did not drop the shoe. Instead, he walked toward the couches... but before he sat down he stopped and looked around. "Someone's missing," he said in sudden realization. "The girl who put us up to this - she isn't here."

Whatever this place was—prison, a vision, some dream world or supernatural labyrinth, the afterlife—the next room suggested it was interconnected with others. It was also much nicer, with lighting and couches. Whatever purpose this place served was anybody’s guess, but it appeared to be confinement of sorts.

Rory and Elizabeth exited at the same time and made contact. Rory turned his head and saw Harry exit the next few doors down. Harry examined the situation and commented his views.

Elizabeth looked down and saw Annie, who proceeded to sit by another girl and console her.

“Like I care ’bout some weirdo! ’Bout bloody toime some damn decency!” Rory stated. He sat on a couch and put his legs over. “Ey! Ain’t we gettin’ some food er wha?”

“I don’t think anyone’s going to be that hospitable, mister...” Elizabeth remarked. Rory turned on the couch.

“Sh’ooht deh hell uhp, wuhman.”

Elizabeth crossed her arms and gave the Irishman a weird look. He tilted his head back and laughed. The lithe lady shook her head, then slowly walked around and examined her surroundings.

“Our doors...green lights. Other ones have red. Hmm...”

“Oy, yeh? Ya gonna count wiht yer fingers nau?”

Elizabeth frowned, "Don't you think it'd be better if we worked together trying to figure this out?”

“Get ta work, wuhman.”

Elizabeth made a little growl, “You’re hopeless.” He laughed at her again. She walked towards the solitary door at the other wall. “That one might stand out. Let’s see...” Elizabeth checked the door for a lock or something. If she could, she would try to open it. If not, perhaps she could find something to pick the lock: a needle, bobby pin, hairpin, a splinter of glass, a narrow shard of building material...

Looking out into the new room - as crisp and smooth as the room he'd awoken in - Isaac couldn't say he was comforted by the furnishings. Nor was he sure if he was comforted by the fact the others were here as well, emerging from their own rooms much as he did his own - save the writer that they had practically forced to join their final exploration, she seemed to have woken up before the rest of them.

He reacted slowly, looking about the room at those who had entered into it with an expression that didn't mark him out as all there right now. Something seemed... Off, when he looked at them, yet he couldn't place exactly what it was. He blinked while looking over at Harry, then twitched back slightly and blinked again, his odd reaction shifting to bewilderment. Isaac raised a hand to his face, rubbing his eyes and blinking a few more times but didn't react that way again. His lips moved as he muttered something inaudibly, but shook it off and seemed to return to himself.

" Lias? " He said, reacting to Harry's comment first and taking another look around to see, yes, the young soldier wasn't in sight. The lights above the doors they had come from were green, but there were other doors with red lights - locked and unlocked, perhaps? He stepped over to room number 12, beside his own, to see if it would open like his own one had - if not, then he could probably consider the light theory confirmed. He'd then look back over at Harry. " Could be in one of these other rooms, better not to jump to conclusions yet. "

Since there didn't seem to be aanything to grab hold of Isaac decided not to try forcing the door if it didn't open, at least for now. Instead he would move across the room, passing by the writer and Annie in the process, and seat himself on a chair that was opposite where they were. He twitched his head to one side, almost involuntarily, and rubbed at his ear.

" You were up before us - did you see or hear anything going on? "

Elizabeth’s attempts failed on all counts. Her attempts to approach the door did not meet with the same result as before, the light continuing to remain red while the door seemed unresponsive to motion activation. There was no lock, either; the door was a flat panel of metal, similar to all of the rest, set into the wall in a way that showed, like the others, it was designed to slide to the side to open. There was plenty in the room that she could likely use to get through a normal lock, at least if she was willing to break apart the table or furniture, but there seemed to be no clear way to get this door open.

Isaac’s attempt met with what he had probably expected: no response. The door next to his own did not open from his approach on the outside. If he wanted to test it by moving back to his own - which would have closed after he left - then it would open again. However, an interesting thing that he may have taken note of was that, when any of them moved away from their doors and the doors closed, the light above the doors would also change to red.

Oh, so you finally care.
” were the first words out of the writer’s mouth. They came in response to Annie’s questions, and there was a surprising amount of venom in them. She was clearly unhappy, and the rather caustic tone continued as she put her legs down onto the floor, stood up, and kept speaking.

You all drag me along because you can’t see that I have shit to do with everything, you get me involved with something I wanted no part of, and now you’ve gotten me stuck here in wherever the goddess-forsaken hell this might be! And to top it off, none of you even bother the courtesy of asking what my damn name is! NONE OF YOU!

You’re all just in perfect agreement of, ‘oh hey, let’s drag this person along because we feel like being assholes’! All I wanted was to finish my damn food, but nooo, we can’t have that! Instead, let’s take whoever this is and make them a science experiment along with us! She’ll be fine with that! Well, guess what? I’M NOT FUCKING FINE WITH IT!

Turning around and kicking the base of the chair that she had been sitting on, the young woman finished by muttering, “
I’m not fine with it at all.

The words were followed by a shuddering sigh, and she did not turn around to face everyone again. However, she did not move away either, at least not yet.
