The Meeting
When Princess Derene stood up to express her displeasure, Eodis felt surprised. How could this woman speak against him? This was the first time a female ever did so, and he felt offended, wanting to give the princess a snort, but did nothing, as King Horic spoke up about liberation instead of annihilation. Eodis figured that the dwarven king and that woman were being too careful, too picky, about everything.
He did not trust Princess Derene, and when she spoke against him, King Eodis became convinced she was untrustworthy. Although her nation's defiance was the reason for becoming conquered, and she just wanted to reclaim what was rightfully hers, Eodis just did not feel right about her.
King Eodis was about to stubbornly rebuke the princess, but Telperion voiced his opinion, expressing his angered views on the situation. Eodis liked how the supreme master declared that anyone who did not want to wage war against Sorus were cowards or fools. Eodis paid attention to what Telperion had to say, expecting a longer speech, but instead a tiny man spoke up.
He did not even notice the Gnome king until now! He thought of them as tiny and useless, but to his surprise, the little leader openly supported an offensive war. Then again, the small size of the Gnomes did not look promising. At least their king was optimistic in crushing the Sorusian Empire, and even taking their leader's head!
It seemed that dwarves, gnomes, at least some humans, and a fraction of Grays, would be capable of an offensive campaign. Considering all of that, Eodis considered that perhaps a total offensive push directly into the enemy was not a bad idea, but the Gray still figured that initial harassment prior to invasion was better. Perhaps now was the time to be silent for a while.
(The Grays are unaware of occurrences in Asindia and Daralt)
