At the word kill, the warrior dropped his line of thought. All he could think about was how good it would feel to kill, to rend and destroy people as they screamed in agony and begged for mercy. The very thought sent shivers of glee up the warrior’s spine, how much better would it feel to actually carry out these killings?
With this thought, the warrior who had once been Skad Helreighn hunched down and snarled in delight before charging toward the mountains visible in the distance.
From his fortress in the infernal plane, General Akyak, watched his new pawn charge toward the mountains. With a smile, the Oppressor leaned back into his throne. Once he had the Monolith, there would be few who could oppose him in all the Void; and thus he was certain to become one of the seventy-two. At this thought, he smiled in satisfaction, then thrust his lance into one of his subordinates who had been sneaking up behind him, hoping to take advantage of Akyak’s musings and dispose of him.
Akyak’s subordinate hissed in pain and collapsed, its constructed body falling apart as it did so, leaving behind only its spirit and soul, which Akyak quickly snatched up.
“You,” Akyak called to another subordinate, “We’re having a feast tonight. Oh, and add this traitor to the mortals, it is to be served to me personally.”
“As you wish my lord,” replied the servant, bowing deeply before taking the demon soul from Akyak’s outstretched hand.
As the servant departed, Akyak turned his attention to the fiend that had once been Skad and muttered to himself, “Soon… very soon.”
