The add for the Monolith is up, however, the add for this story has been postponed until tomorrow. (I recently remembered I have an exam tomorrow at 1, and need to study and sleep.) "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

About that add... Well, as you know, it was postponed 'til Friday, but... well, firstly, I did write it... kinda. You see, I tried writing it, but after reaching six pages and not being near to done with the add, I realized I had two options;
1) stop writing in the middle of something and post the add for Thursday, then pick up where I left off today and finish it.

2) Don't post the add on Friday, instead post a really large add on Saturday.

Guess which one I chose?

Anyway, really big add coming up today. Now, it's 5am, and I need my sleep.

Thank you insanesrogue.

Alright, I'm about to post the add (a whopping 15 pages) after the add will be a small collection of terms that will have been introduced in the add.

Now, without further ado:
"He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

The massive pillar of fire dissolved, leaving Azzanadra floating above the battlefield unharmed. With a flick of his wrist, thousands of red, glowing orbs appeared before him and rose into the skies. To those below, it looked as if the sky had been filled with small, bright, red stars. The orbs remained suspended for a moment, then each and every last one sent what appeared to be strings of flame earthward. Once they touched the ground, the strings began to sway, as if a strong wind had begun to blow through them.

Lucien dodged the strings as best he could, but soon found himself trapped in a large net of the fiery strands. With a silent curse, he surrounded himself with a shell that shimmered like diamond. When the strings made contact with this shell, they were knocked aside.

Azzanadra observed this for a few moments, then outstretched his hands to the heavens. At this a thunderbolt fell from the sky, and struck Lucien’s shield. But unlike a normal thunderbolt, it did not vanish after a few moments, rather it stayed in place, swaying back and forth like some colossal serpent. Strands of lightning broke off from the thunderbolt and made their way to the ground; wherever they struck the earth was scorched black, and before long all the soil within a four meter radius below Lucien’s shield was black as pitch.

Within his shield, Lucien could feel the force of Azzanadra’s new attack slowly fracturing his magic. He knew that it was but a matter of seconds before his shield dissolved, allowing him to be struck with the full force of the Zarosian’s attack. Gritting his teeth, the mahjarret did the only think he could think of to get out of this attack; he broke his own shield, forcing it upward, and pushing back the thunderbolt a small amount. While this was going on, he flew as fast as he could away from the thunderbolt; he was still singed by the lightning, but at least he hadn’t taken the full force of the attack.

Not willing to let Azzanadra stay on the offensive, Lucien made a series of gestures, after which the entire sky was lit up by stars. For a moment all was silent, then someone let out a scream as he realized the ‘stars’ were getting bigger. Moments later, they rained down upon the battlefield as balls of fire. Wherever they hit, massive craters were formed, and all the soldiers near to the impact were killed instantly. Mages on every side threw up rudimentary barriers meant to mitigate damage from Lucien’s attack as much as possible; however with a few exceptions, they were only able to block the rubble that rocketed from the impact sites, if a ‘star* hit nearby, the barriers often shattered as easily as if they were glass.

Out of all the armies present, only the Zarosians escaped Lucien’s attack without significant casualties. Thankfully for them, a shroud, pitch black and dotted with glowing white points, such that seemed to be made of the night sky itself had appeared between them and the ‘stars’ of Lucien’s attack. When a ‘star’ had gotten near to this shroud, it had slowed down, and eventually landed softly on the shroud, before rolling off, and landing on the ground near the Zarosians with an audible thud, but no real damage.

This shroud distracted Lucien, who for a moment thought Azzanadra must have made it to protect his followers. However, he soon realized that the magic used in the shroud was a different type altogether than that of the mahjarret. Making a mental note to find out who had created the shroud after he was done with his duel, Lucien turned back to look for Azzanadra. He soon found the other mahjarret, floating a little ways away, with his arms outstretched. As he did this, seven mountains rose from the ground, and shattered. From within their hearts came giants, although, they dwarfed the giants found in Gielinor; these giants stood with their heads high enough to touch the clouds, and were to wide too fit in any of Gielinor’s castles.

Lucien hissed under his breath, and summoned hundreds of tormented demons, which he sent at the massive giants, intending to defeat quality with quantity…

Within Lucien’s castle, a loud clang echoed through the halls. Orcris jumped back, frowning at the cracks that had appeared in his blade as he had struck the statue’s arm. Before he could even think about his next move, one of the statue's hands swiped him away as a grown man would do to a fly, sending him slamming into one of the walls.

While Orcris was lying on the ground, Liam ran over to him, and touched his forehead. Immediately the pain of being slammed into the wall vanished, and Orcris’ wounds closed up. Meanwhile, Liam seemed to have a look of pain cross his face. Orcris had seen him do this sort of thing to the others when they had gotten injured, and was certain by now that Liam was somehow absorbing the injuries that the others had received into himself.

Moments later, Hekate appeared next to Liam, and asked, “How are you holding up?”

“I’m fine,” Liam said weakly.

“You liar,” commented Hekate, “I doubt you can handle much more, and if I let you die here, Usha will kill me.”

“I don’t think you’ll have to worry about Usha killing you, by the time this things done with you,” commented Jun as she fell back, while a group of spectral berserkers she had conjured covered her retreat.

“I don’t think we can beat this thing,” agreed Jayson as he also pulled back, “None of our attacks are working.”

“Well, what are we supposed to do?” asked Orcris.

Jayson paused and clutched his Guthixian amulet close to his chest. After a few moments, he shook his head, *I don’t think there is anything we can do; our opponent is made of dragonite and drawing power directly from the Stone of Jas, only a god could defeat it.”

“Great,” moaned Taiyama, “And none of them can intervene.”

Orcris was about to say something, but stopped short when something caught his eye.

“Hey,” he said, “Who’s that?”

The others turned to look, and found a figure in a black cloak which was covered in violet sigla. He stood facing the construct, and was between it and their group. Unfortunately, it appeared the construct had noticed him and was now moving in for the kill.

“Whoever that is, he’s gonna be slaughtered!” shouted Taiyama, “My dragonite armor shattered with one strike, and it offers better protection than any cloak.”

“Yes, than any cloak, but not a forema,” the voice that spoke was a child’s voice, and soon after, Aion appeared in the midst of the group.

“What do you mean?” asked Orcris.

“Wait and see,” replied Aion.

The statue struck at the cloaked figure with all its strength as the group watched with a mix of horror and fascination. However, the moment the statue’s hand touched the cloaked person, the sigla on his cloak glowed, and the hand was smashed by its own force, while the person remained unharmed.

The statue fell back in shock, giving time for the person to make his way over to the group, which now had been joined by Rose, Taika, and Seth.

“Good day to you, Liam,” said the cloaked person.

*Do you know him?” asked Orcris.

“I don’t think so…” replied Liam.

“Perhaps you don’t anymore,” said the person, oddly enough it seemed there was sadness in his voice as he said this. “Your memories were stolen after all. So it makes sense you would not remember even me.”

“Stolen?” asked Liam, “Are you saying someone managed to take my memories away from me? Who?”

“Who…” repeated the person, “It is better if you do not know. Your memories have been scattered across the land, but I believe they are here in Gielinor. As is the power stolen from Seth.”

“Power?” asked Orcris, however, it seems Seth understood what was being said.

“I have another question,” said Liam, “Who are you? When I saw you there, you felt… familiar…”

“That is unsurprising,” said the person, “My blood flows in your veins after all, and your blood flows in mine.”

“What does that mean, are you related?” asked Taiyama.

“Blood Brothers,” commented Jun.

“Huh?” asked Taiyama.

“They mingled blood as a ritual,” explained Jun, “It’s a high honor, one of trust and devotion.”

“I had forgotten you Freminiks have a similar ritual,” said the person, “The ritual we used was far more complex, but you are correct, we are Blood Brothers. That we are so is a rarity; for we Prantiqeth do not often become Blood Brothers with the members of other races.

Ah, but where are my manners; I am Arche-Sophos Gessent, Mystic Prantiqeth of the House of Darkness. A pleasure to meet you all.”

As he introduced himself, Liam’s eyes grew wide in shock.

-But isn’t his name Ardanet?- Liam thought to himself

Gessent smiled, and said, “Ah, you just remembered my real name, did*’t you, Liam?”

“You mean that the name you gave us was a fake?” questioned Orcris.

“No, it is my public name,” replied Gessent, “A real name conveys the essence of a person, and thus it is kept secret from all but a very select few, particularly one’s Blood Siblings, and his or her spouse.”

“So you know my real name?” asked Liam.

“It would be better to say I did know your name,” replied Gessent.

“You forgot?” asked Orcris.

“No,” replied Gessent, “Liam no longer has a real name. It was split from him when his memories were stolen.”

“How can you lose your own essence?” asked Liam, clearly horrified.

“In your case,” replied Gessent, “A person named Mephos split your name from your soul. Before you began to dislike him, know that he did it to save you. The being that stole your memories and scattered them was going to force you to reveal your name and thus gain control over you. To prevent this, Mephos split you from your name. The process nearly killed you, but thanks to it you were able to escape a fate worse than death.

Incidentally, it is more important for you to find your name that it is to find your memories. For without the former, you will never really be yourself.”
