You know, you people really should get on my case when I miss an add. That, more than anything else, convinces me that no one is reading, and that there is little point in writing.

Regardless, I don't have this week's add done (although the Monolith add is almost done.) and since tomorrow is Good Friday, I might not be able to get it up before Saturday, but I should have it up then.

Incidentally, this year is not a good one for me. My least favorite day is Good Friday, and my second least favorite is April Fool's Day and you would know that this year they happen one after the other.

*Get's on Aqua's case* There is that better? My apologies, I've been feeling rather tired at all times lately because no matter what something does not allow me to sleep so I have been very inactive. I checked for adds, as I do every day hoping you were feeling extra authorish or something and decided to add. Despite the fact that I check atleast once a day on both stories I rarely post because logging in is a hassle. I'm very tired right now as well so for once I won't even be putting my signature down below what I've said nor do I care for any spelling or grammatical mistakes I may have made while typing. And how can you not like April Fools day.

Heh, heh, thanks Orcris. Anyway, here's the deal; since I've been falling behind on my adds, this week there will be three days that I add; Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Furthermore, on each of these days there will be adds in both the Monolith and the Black Pentagram. "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

“Heh, looks like there are quite a few guards,” commented Jayson, “I don’t think we can take them all.”

“That’s why we have Liam with us,” said Seth, “Liam, if you would…”

“Give me a moment,” said Liam, appearing to concentrate. “There, it’s done.”

“Huh, we’re not invisible,” said Hekate.

“Why would we be?” asked Jun.

“Liam can create illusions,” Orcris answered, “When I heard Seth say he would handle this, I also expected us to become invisible.”

“Illusions?” asked Jun.

“That may be what it appears like,” commented Liam, “But it would be more precise to say I can alter how people’s mind perceive reality. It’d take too long to explain here, so instead, if any of you have questions, ask them after we’re down with our mission.”

“Right,” said Daefon, “But, what about the guards?”

Liam smiled. “They won’t see us… Basically, they will only see and hear what they would expect to see and hear. However, what I’m doing only has an effective radius of about ten meters, try not to make loud noises that can be heard from further away than that, and try to stay out of view from the battlefield.”

“And helmets,” commented Seth.

“Oh, right,” sighed Liam, “If any of them are wearing a bronze, copper, or mind helm, they probably aren’t affected by my “illusion” assume they can see and hear you.”

“If your doing something to their minds, I guess the mind helm makes sense, but what about the other helmets?” questioned Daefon.

“They’re Faraday Cages,” replied Liam, as if this explained everything, “Now can we please go, I’ll get a splitting headache if I keep this up for too long.”

“Okay then,” commented Jayson, “Here goes.”

With this, the group ran to the fortress entrance. Like Liam had promised, none of the guards seemed to notice them in the least, and soon they were in the fortress itself, making their way through halls filled with guards that neither saw nor heard them.

“Oh, one more thing,” said Liam as they rounded a corner, “If there are demons or undead in here, they aren’t affected by my “illusion” either.”

“That would have been nice to know earlier,” sighed Orcris, “By the way, how are we supposed to find the Stone of Jas in here, anyway?”

“Find a lone guard and I’ll show you,” replied Liam.

It took a few moments, but the group did manage to find a guard who was apparently off duty, and pacing in his room.

“Okay, I’m about to undo my “illusion”,” said Liam, “But don’t attack the guard, got it?”

“If you say so,” commented Jayson.

Liam closed his eyes for a moment, and almost immediately, the guard fell down in shock.

“Who are you?!” He demanded, “How did you appear here?”

“We’re sorry to startle you,” said Liam. Orcris blinked, it almost seemed like Liam’s violet eyes were glowing. “We just needed some help, and thought you might be useful je t’aime.” Orcris was certain Liam’s eyes had flashed as he said “je t’aime”, whatever that meant. And right after Liam had finished the guard’s cheeks turned slightly pink.

“I’d be happy to help you,” the guard told Liam, “How can I be of service?”

“Could you take us to the Stone of Jas?” asked Liam.

Orcris was shocked, there was no way that one of Lucien’s guards would actually do something like that… He was disappointed, Liam seemed smarter than that, Orcris would have expected him to have shown more tact, and somehow tricked the guard into revealing its location.

“Well…” the guard was saying, “Lucien has forbidden us to even go near the room it’s in.*

-There we go,- thought Orcris.

“But if it’s for you than I guess I could lead the way,” finished the guard.

Orcris stared at the guard in a mix of disbelief and shock. At least, he did*’t seem to be the only one surprised by the guard’s willingness to show them to the Stone of Jas. In fact, the only ones who seemed unsurprised were Hekate, Seth, and Liam.

As guard led them through the fortress, Orcris noted that the other guards seemed not to notice. Either they assumed that a group in the company of one of their own was legit, or Liam had restored his illusion. If it was the latter, it appeared that whatever Liam had done to their escort could be maintained without him dropping his illusion, leading Orcris to wonder why he had done so in the first place.

Within a few minutes the guard had led them to a set of large doors made entirely of dragonite.

“In here,” he said, pointing to the doors, “But just so you know, Lord Lucien has set some tormented demons to guard the stone; it won’t be easy to best them.”

“Thank you,” said Liam. Turning to the others he asked, “Will you be able to handle the demons? I don’t want to have to use ‘that’ unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

“That?” asked Jayson.

Orcris looked over to Seth and Hekate, who as usual seemed to know what Liam was talking about.

“Got it,” said Seth, “Everyone ready? The demons should not be expecting us, and we should use surprise to our advantage.”

“Sure thing,” said Orcris.

Seth nodded, and dashed through the doors, followed by the others, who now found themselves staring at a group of about ten tormented demons. The demons blinked at the sudden entrance; as Seth had predicted, they were not expecting anyone to actually enter the room. Before they could even react, one of the demons let out a howl and collapsed to the ground; turning into a pile of ash as it did so. Both the demons and the group turned to the pile of ash in disbelief, and found Hekate standing in its midst, holding two short swords in her hands.

One of the demons let out a growl and swiped at Hekate, however, by the time its claw made contact, the girl had disappeared from the pile of ash and reappeared on the attacking demon’s head, where she stabbed both her blades. This demon also let out a shriek and collapsed.

“Two down!” Hekate shouted.

“You miscounted,” Jayson replied.

Looking around, Orcris noted that three more demons had been enveloped in some sort of vine which now began contracting, tearing into the demons’ flesh as it did so. Soon those three were also reduced to ash.

“At this rate, I’m not going to have any fun,” pouted Rose, “Demons, take this!” Thousands upon thousands of fireballs appeared before Rose, and shot toward the five remaining demons, the resulting explosions not only destroyed the demons, it destroyed half the room. “Oops,” said Rose, smiling.

“Watching her makes me feel weak,” sighed Taiyama.

“Come to think of it,” said Seth, “Those demons went down pretty easily, are you sure you weren’t helping us, Liam?”

“I wasn’t,” said Liam, “But you are right about the demons; tormented demons are extremely powerful, even our group shouldn’t have such an easy time. It’s almost as if, they were ordered not to fight, but why?”

“Who knows?” asked Jayson, “At any rate, the Stone of Jas is right in front of us, so let’s get rid of it… Wait, what in Guthix’s name is that?!”

It took only a moment for the others to figure out what Jayson meant, a liquid had pooled at the base of the Stone of Jas, and was now inching upward onto the stone.

“That liquid is molten dragonite,” said Daefon, “I’ve seen it only once before…”

“So that’s it,” said Liam, “Tormented demons have dragonite in their bodies, and the flames around them are hot enough to make it molten… Lucien was using them as living storage tanks; I’m willing to bet that even if we hadn’t killed them, they would have self destructed in a short period of time."

“But why did Lucien need liquid dragonite here in the first place?” questioned Orcris.

“Looks like we're about to find out,” said Jun, “Look at what its doing.”

The liquid dragonite was now taking a form; and moments later, the group found themselves facing a large dragonite statue of a skeletal figure with the stone of Jas where a heart would have been.

“Hey, that statue looks a bit like… Lucien,” commented Taiyama, “Figures, how vain of him to build a statue of himself around the stone of Jas.”

“Liam,” said Hekate.

“I noticed,” said Liam, to the others he said, “It’s not just a statue, it seems to be drawing power from the stone of Jas.”

“Meaning?” asked Jayson.

“We’re in for a tough fight,” answered Taika.

“You can’t be serious!” shouted Jun.

As if in answer, the statue creaked to life and stood, its head nearly touching the ceiling. It looked at the group in front of it, and broke into a grin before summoning two massive balls of fire in its hands.

“Apparently, you are serious,” sighed Jun.

With a roar, the statue moved in to attack.
