F2* on the forums... it would be interesting, and Mr.Gerhard has indicated he wants to increase the benefits for F2Ps, but... I kind of wonder if it would really happen. Think of the flood of comments, new threads (some of which would undoubtedly be spam.) With the 50 thread limit per forum and the 2k post limit per thread, we could lose a lot of threads. (Not to mention, be annoyed to death by certain noobs...) "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."

“How much farther is it?” Soul complained.

“Well, you’re enthusiasm died off quickly enough,” muttered Iban.

“We’ve been looking for hours,” Soul continued, “Do you even have any idea where you’re going?”

“Sure,” said Iban, but in such a way that Soul knew instantly that the Kinshra was lying.

“I see,* commented Soul, raising an eyebrow, “I swear, if we aren’t there soon…”

“Grandchildren!” an aged voice suddenly interrupted.

Both Zamorakians turned to see a half-crazed old man in a flowing pink dress running toward them, jumping over several lava pools that got in his way.

“What in the name of Zamorak?!” demanded Soul.

“Oh, grandchildren, it has been too long!” exclaimed the strange old man.

“Who are you, and what brings you to the wilderness?” asked Iban, who was more amused than annoyed.

“Ginko Fask,” replied the old man, “And as for why I am here… I have noticed that the winds of change have begun to blow unhindered by fate. I am currently on my way to see these winds.”

“Iban, you shouldn’t talk to it,” said Soul, obviously annoyed at the old man, “We should just ignore “it” and leave.”

“Soul, Soul, Soul,” said Iban, shaking his head, “You haven’t noticed have you?”

“Noticed what?” asked Soul.

*This man, Ginko Fask,” Iban said, gesturing at the old man who was now skipping pebbles on a pool of magma, “Is extremely powerful. I suspect he is a wizard who delved a bit too deeply into the mysteries of his art, and is now* odd in the head. But still, he would be a valuable asset to our mission.”

“Sometimes, I think you’re as loony as he seems to be,” sighed Soul, *There’s no way this man could be of any use to us!*

*That’s enough talking!” shouted Ginko, “Time to head out!”

“To where?” asked Soul.

“Why to the Chaos temple where all the Zamorakians have been heading,” replied Ginko, “It’s right over those hills.”

“You were saying?” Iban asked smugly.

“I’ll admit I was wrong if and only if he takes us to the right place,” retorted Soul.

A few minutes later Soul sighed, “Okay, Iban you win.”

In front of them was a massive camp filled with soldiers bearing the symbols of Zamorak and Bandos.

*That’s odd,” commented Iban.

“What is?” asked Soul.

“Both Zamorak and Bandos have called upon a great number of their followers; I notice that there are even a couple of Ourgs here,” Iban said, pointing out the giant, ferocious orc-like creatures sitting in the back of the Bandos half of the camp, “But,” he continued, “There are no demons anywhere to be seen.”

“You’re right,” mused Soul, *That is unusual. Normally, we’d have a couple of demonic legions here for this. I mean, I know the black pentagram was taken from us and all, but some of our more powerful mages can summon demons without it… We should still have plenty of demons available.”

“There are reasons demons could not be trusted with this mission,” said someone behind Iban.

Soul and Iban turned to see themselves facing Lord Daquarius, leader of the Kinshra.

“Good to see you are both well,” the leader of the Kinshra commented.

“What’s going on here?” demanded Iban.

“Straight to the point as always,” sighed Darquarius, “Something happened recently… an artifact that increased the power of order was destroyed, tipping the balance in the favor of chaos. Unfortunately, it appears that other the gods beside Lord Zamorak noticed. Even as we speak, the soldiers of Saradomin, Armadyl, and Guthix gather in Edgeville, preparing to assault this position.”

“Because an artifact empowering chaos is here,” concluded Iban.

“Indeed,” said Darquarius.

“And thus, it is our duty to protect the said artifact,” commented Soul.

“Correct,* said Darquarius, “Now, I would tell you to both get ready, but first… who is that?”

“I am Ginko Fask,” said the old man, “And you really shouldn’t forget your own grandfather’s name, Darquarius.”

“Ginko… Fask…” repeated Darquarius, apparently lost in thought. Suddenly the Kinshra lord’s eyes lit up, “Ah, could it be THAT Ginko Fask?!”

“You know something, don’t you?!” questioned Iban, “Spit it, Darquarius!”

“Not a chance,” replied the Kinshra lord, with a grin, “Now, I must see to the preparations. You should get ready for the upcoming battle as well.”

"Don't you dare ignore my questions!" shouted Iban, but Darquarius left without a second glance.

"I suppose we should get ready," suggested Soul.

"Alright," grumbled Iban, "For now we'll do as he says, but soon, Darquarius WILL answer me, I swear it."

Most of Edgeville** residents remained in their homes, startled and slightly frightened of the situation their town was in. Troops bearing the signs of Guthix, Saradomin, and Armadyl had been recently streaming into town from all directions. In addition, small groups of suspicious travelers, cloaked and often mentioning the name “Zaros” had been gathering in the ruins south of the village.

A little ways away from the village, in the monastery, a monk ran into Abbot Langley's office.

“Saradomin be with you, brother,” said the Abbot, “What brings you to me in such a hurry.”

“Abbot!” exclaimed the monk, “You must come quickly; the prophetess has arrived!”

“The prophetess?” Abbot Langley mused, “The leader of the cult of order is here? I had noticed her followers in Edgeville, but to think she would come personally… Go; inform her that I am coming to greet her.”

“Of course,” said the monk, who, after a quick bow, made his way out of the Abbot’s room.

Outside, a group of people, their features obscured by grey cloaks, stood around a young lady. The lady was garbed in a grey gown which bore silver ornaments, and possessed flowing white hair that reached to her waist. As she waited for the Abbot to appear, she stared off into the distance, her dark grey eyes fixed on something that only she could see.

*Prophetess Asura, I bid you welcome,” said the Abbot as he emerged from the monastery.

“Thank you Abbot Langley,” replied the lady, fixing her eyes on the Abbot, “I trust that the others have arrived as well.”

“Indeed,” said a knight that Abbot Langley recognized as Sir Vey, leader of the Temple Knights.

Two others followed Sir Vey, one was instantly recognizable as Sanfew of the druids, and the second was an Armadylyst that Abbot Langley did not know.

“Good, we are all here,” said Asura, “I trust everyone is ready. My forces tell me that the followers of Zamorak and Bandos gather en masse at the temple.”

“Do not worry, our combined forces are more than a match for them,” said Sir Vey, “There are few who would even dare come near a force the size of ours.”

“And therefore you are over confident as usual.”

The group turned to see a man wearing a black traveling cloak with his face obscured by the brim of an old grey wizard's hat, leaning against the wall.

“Hey, you aren’t allowed to be here!” shouted one of Sir Vey's guards.

“Oh,” said the newcomer as the guard approached and drew his blade. “You intend to fight me? Then, please allow me to begin.” The newcomer held out a gloved hand and suddenly the temple knight flew back, coming crashing into one of the monastery’s walls. “Well, that was easy,” sighed the newcomer.

“How dare you?!” demanded Sir Vey, drawing his own sword.

“Halt, Sir Vey,” said Asura.

“What?! Why?!” demanded the knight.

“I know this man, and I fear you could not beat him,” replied Asura.

“So I was correct,* mused Sanfew. Turning to the newcomer he said, “Am I to presume that you are Vates le’Couleuvre, the leader of the cult of darkness?”

“Ah, so you’ve heard of me,” said the newcomer.

“We now have the leader of two of the ancient cults with us?” asked Abbot Langley, “Are you here to help us destroy the Winds of Change, Lord Vates?”

“Quite the opposite,” replied Vates, “I am here to talk you out of attacking the Winds…”

“And what makes you think we’d change our minds?” asked Sir Vey.

“Are you not aware?” asked Vates, “The Winds are part of a seal which keeps the empty lord away. To destroy them is to aid in the empty lord’s return.”

“Is this true, Asura?” asked the Armadylyst leader.

“In a sense,” answered Asura, “But, the Winds are only one part of the seal; destroying them will not guarantee Zaros’ return. However, should we leave them as they are, chaos would certainly consume our world.

As I told you before, Vates, given the choice between an action that may end in catastrophe and inaction that will certainly end in catastrophe, I will choose to act.”

“You far overestimate the catastrophe that would come about from inaction, and underestimate the one you may very well cause,” commented Vates, “But I see you are all too blinded by your fanaticism to notice your folly; at least, until it is too late. So I will bid you Adieu. If, by some miracle, one of you happens to have a sudden epiphany about the stupidity of what you are trying to do, give me a shout, I won't be far.”

“Wait, Vates,” Asura called after him.

“Yes?” came the reply.

“Will you and your followers interfere with our efforts?” asked Asura.

Vates shrugged. “Who knows?” he asked, “Farewell, prophetess.” Having said his part, Vates walked into the shadows cast by the monastery and vanished from sight.

“Someone like him is going against us then,” sighed Sanfew, “Our mission just became a lot more difficult**

*Still,” said Asura, “We will not waver. Vates will not have the satisfaction of watching us fail… Still, we must move quickly. We cannot give him time to sabotage our work. Inform the troops, we’re moving out.”
