Balor and Lucia backed into each other, finding themselves back-to-back. Multiple soldiers charged for them, ready to fight. Two knights had arrived first, both swinging their blades. The siblings guarded against the attacks upon them, but more enemies came for them. Both Lucia and Balor did the exactly same thing to their soldier as after their block was successful, kicking them down to the ground.

The two then went for the soldier that was going after the other, Lucia to the one aiming for Balor and Balor to the one aiming for Lucia. The two spun around, switching sides. Many others did approached, keep the king and queen on their toes. Keeping her left forearm tied behind her back, she calmly awaited this foe.

The man came for Balor, swinging his blade down upon him. He swing her sword at his, the weak of his blade smacking the weak of the soldier's. The strength Balor put behind his swing was too much for the soldier's grip, sending the blade sailing out of his hand. Balor stepped off slightly to his left, pounding the soldier's face hard with the pommel of his blade.

The soldier clenched his face, feeling some strength beyond that of his kinsmen put into that attack. His nose had begun to bleed, the sight of where the sword's pommel came in. Balor took this time to move behind the soldier, but before he could, he had his own worries to address. A soldier came in, aiming for Balor's legs.

Balor merely evaded, hopping backwards. The soldier was defenseless, allowing Balor to swing his blade down upon the back of his enemy's neck like a guillotine. Arbandor cut through the soldier's flesh, his spangenhelm offering no assistance. Cutting clean into the back of the soldier's neck, a near decapitation albeit an internal one.

Balor launched his right foot forward, kicking the nearly headless man away from him to better pull out his blade. The man fell forward, his head barely kept on by a strap of skin and muscle. The soldier who Balor half-sworded just started to refocus himself, trying his best to cope with the pain. The king quickly stepped away from the man he just killed, sneaking behind the recovering soldier.

Balor slid behind the soldier, but another came for him. Balor did not sense, for it was not a threat to his life. A mighty sword swung across the rushing soldier's leg, cutting it off. The blood poured down onto the ground as the soldier fell, feeling the intense pain. He gazed down, seeing his severed leg a few feet away.

He began to panic, heavy, quick whimpers popping out from his lips. Then he gazed up, seeing the blade drop. Gallows' blade quickly ended the human's misery, cutting his head off like a execution. Gallows turned to Balor, seeing his king making his move. Balor stood behind the soldier stunned by his half-swording, his sapphire eyes to find his sister.

The bodies of the fallen at her feet, all sliced up so cleanly. Men begged for death, in so much suffering... and she delivered them it. He then saw a soldier charging for his sister while she dealt with another, causing Balor's right foot to fly forward. He kicked the soldier in front of him, sending him moving forward.

He staggered as he quickly moved, spinning his arms frantically as he tried to regain his out-of-control body. Lucia sliced her blade across a man's torso, her pale blue eyes saw at the corner as her brother kicked the soldier over to her. She thought it strange, but deliberate. And then, her Solasúian sense told her exactly what it was.

Once the man was close enough, Lucia stepped to him. She then spun around to his back, using him like a shield. A mace then came barreling down, finding the captured man's head. The steel, flanged mace smashed the man's already injured face in, turning it completely broken and red. She then bashed the mace-wielding soldier with the body, sending him tumbling to the ground.

Lucia turned around, carrying the body with her. There was another soldier coming for her, clenching his blade with both of his hands as he charged up his swing. She then tossed the body at the sword-carrying soldier, who would be unable to catch it. The heavy soldier's body flopped on top of the man, sending him to stagger for just a moment.

The queen then turned to the previous soldier, who was coming at her full steam. She pulled her blade up, the strong edge meeting the weak edge of the soldier's blade. She then heard the footsteps from behind her, a soldier that attempted to rush her. She then hopped off to her right, the tip of the blade she battled slashed across the left side of her face.

It left a small cut, a very minor injury. Her quick and very sudden movement led the soldier from behind to lunge at his own comrade, his blade stabbing into his abdomen. A momentary distraction, feeling the dread of taking his own ally's life. He listened well to his painful screams as they just became a part of what echoed here today.

The soldier then turned to Lucia, who stood there waiting for him. Angrily, he raised his voice, dropping his sword. He then pulled out a spare one-handed sword in his disposal, his eyes bleeding with rage. He stampeded towards her, wanting to kill her so badly. She patiently awaited him, the desire of spare him rang in her head... But she so very much wanted to send him from this world.

He swung his sword, but she just deflected whatever he threw. The soldier slashed to the left, she just stepped backwards and completely evaded his attack. He then lunged his sword, bellowing his fury at the top of his lungs. Lucia evaded, stepping off to her right. Her blade was then sent for a swing, soaring across the soldier's throat.

Coating this world with more paint, Eshenel sliced a path into the man's throat, cutting open his jugular veins. The soldier fell, his hands clenching his severed throat as he struggled to breath. He then just dropped to his knees, his hollow eyes gazing up into the night sky. The blackened heavens, this night terror that became reality... That was the world they lived in...

The image of him reflected upon her irises as she watched him fall to the ground, his wide-open expression. His eyes frantically searched the earth, his heart looking for someone -- if anyone -- who might be willing to save him from his fate. His eyes watered, he didn't want to die. His green eyes then looked up at her as his vision wobbled from normal to blurred.

He saw her, a familiar face, the archer who helped liberate them from the slavery of the gods. He saw her dress, covered in the blood of his brothers. Dark as she appeared, she was illuminated by the silver light. Her ethereal eyes gazed upon his dying face, fighting back the tears. He saw something then, something that sent shivers down his back. It was on her face as she mourned his death, truly a terrible thing.

Her stoic face was just a front, her eyes tearing up as she watched yet another die to her blade. But there was something even more ugly upon her face, something straight from an abyss. His vision blackened at that moment, taking one last breath. He wheezed heavily, finally finding the only salvation in this world gone mad.

Lucia then turned to her right, seeing a familiar red-headed archer. His red hair released, allowing it to flow freely, he himself appeared rather stressed and aggravated. He found himself overrun in an unfamiliar place upon the battlefield, slashing his blade into a man. Another soldier then came over, slashing his sword across Shinon's right arm.

The blade carved a deep path into Shinon's bicep, sending him to clench onto his wound. The blood escaped through the in between of his fingers, dripping down his arm. The soldier's right foot then flew forward, bouncing off of Shinon. The red-headed archer fell down onto the ground hard on his left side. He gripped his teeth, his face a strong grimace.

Lucia then rammed her sword into the soldier, piercing through the upper left of his back. The sword speared through the soldier's flesh, cutting through his heart. Lucia very swiftly kicked the soldier down, pulling out her blade in the process. Shinon heard the action be made, his tightly closed eyes opening up.

Her image then reflected off of his eyes, seeing her hold her hand out to Shinon to offer assistance. She stood there, equip with the blood of her victims. His grimace transformed, bursting into a look of complete and utter malice. His eyes erupted with such resentment, vehemently digging into her face. His hands clenched so very tightly, his face tightened with ire.

But still, her heart would not budge. Her eyes upon him unemotional, unresponsive. Shinon then proceed to pick himself up, lifting up from the dirt. His eyes would not let go of her for even a millisecond, so hard was it for him to battle his craving for her life. The two then just stared at each other for a moment, not speaking a single word.

This confrontation would end, however. There was a rush of footsteps from behind Lucia, quickly spinning around to meet with whoever came for her. She saw him, a man she was especially familiar with. His face clamped with extreme fury, his teeth fastened together as his blade began to take a swing at her. She pulled her sword up to meet his, colliding in a thunderous sound.

The two blades locked against each other, their eyes gazing intensely upon the other. Lucia maintained a calm, composed face as she battled with him... Audley. "I didn't want to fight you," Lucia admitted.

His eyes beat into her face, his blade shook with rage. "You assured that when you started slaughtering my men," he spoke back angrily. "Think yourself so high now that you sit upon the throne, huh?"

"No," she responded. "this is something I simply cannot avoid."

"Oh, is that it?" he quickly returned. "You insult every single one of my men, being the one who gave them their lives back. And now, what, you've come to take them?"

"It's not something I do lightly," the queen answered.

"Is that right?" he asked, not buying her words. "So, why are you smiling?" She paused for a moment, her eyes widened as he informed her of this. Why would she be smiling? Her free left hand reached up for her face, her fingers ran down her smooth skin. She felt the blood that splattered her face, her nails scoped it up like a snow shovel.

She reached it, that rigid hill. She then felt it, the thing that was growing on her face. It arched upwards like a crescent moon knocked onto its back, making her appear delighted. She was... smiling? Why? She continued to rub her fingers across the ruthless smile upon her face, becoming sickened of herself.

"...Do you enjoy it!?" he angrily shouted. "The men that you kill, the women that your people assault, and the children that you make scream, all loved you like family. They accepted you for whatever you were, even after they heard about your true identity. And what do you do? You kill them, YOU slaughter them!"

Her expression went pitch black, utterly stunned by this unfathomable evil she displayed. Who could enjoy the sights and sounds of people getting killed? Of their blood and entrails littering the ground? And then the innocent people, getting put in a situation she only begin to imagine. Who could possibly enjoy this loss of life, this absolute king of tragedies?

But then the world went quiet, the sound of swords clashing and the yelps of men disappeared. Audley shuffled his eyes, scouring through the massacre. Passing by body after body, most of them wearing a familiar face. His men had all perished, their lives taken by this steamroller. He was completely surrounded, glowing eyes lunged into his body.

Audley then noticed a shine from below his eyes, forcing them to recoil. His vision saw a blade put across his throat, being just inches shy. "I advise you to surrender," Audley then heard, turning his head to the source of the sound. He then saw him, his crown weighing heavily upon his head. It was Balor Barn, king of the gods. He wore a rather serious expression, his eyes glaring upon him. "I will spare you should you choose the proper move, but make the wrong move and I will kill you faster than you can breathe."

Audley knew when he was defeated, pulling his sword off of Lucia's blade. It didn't matter anyway, his words doing more harm than his sword ever could. He then slowly reached to the ground, laying his blade down. He then drew his spare blade, placing that right next to his longsword. He then slowly rose to his feet, holding his hands up to the height of his head.

The captain then turned away from Lucia very sluggishly, his front facing the crowd of Loyal Knights. Balor's hand then pushed Audley forward, finding himself now in the middle of the courtyard. He had a perfect view, staring at all of the lives lost. The white stone and grass washed in blood, bodily fluids, and sliced organs, the bodies of those killed blankly staring up at him.

Loyal Knights stood to his side, one grabbing onto his left shoulder and another grabbing his right. They forced him to the ground, his knees dipped in the blood of his comrades. The king then turned to Lucia, concerned about his sister's well being. She seemed literally shocked to her foundation, unable to get the reigns of herself and pull.

His hand found her shoulder, surprising her. "Lucia," he kindly spoke. "are you all right?"

She turned to him and lightly smiled. "I'm fine," she answered quickly.

"Do you know that man?" Balor asked.

She shook her head, confirming that she did indeed. "He is Captain Audley Sturm," the queen informed her brother. "During the Resistance's invasion of Ormemel a couple of months ago, he managed to convince the human soldiers into joining the Resistance. As a reward for his services, Raphael appointed him as the leader of the Falador branch of the Resistance. Audley and I were friends, good friends."

"Then I shall leave his fate in your hands," the king responded. "You may kill him, put him to use, or you may let him go. It matters not what you choose, my sister, only that you feel it's right."

"Thank you, brother," she returned, climbing the ladder of confidence. She was high enough to step forward, her legs boldly beginning to push her towards that friend of hers. Each step felt like a battle, like walking down the middle of a road. One step was bright, righteous, the other was dark, and full of iniquity. She knew not what side she leaned on the most, only that she was stuck in the center.

She wanted to freeze, she wanted to punish herself for the horrible things she has done. She wanted to stop the insanity, in a world war with her own conscience. It ripped apart the landscapes of her mind with fire and death, each side thinking themselves as justice. She tried her best to quell the sounds of strife, but there was only so much she could do...

Her steps hesitated, in fear of the things that Audley said and had yet to say. She just then drew in breath in her bellows, letting all of her feelings and fears out. This was her life now, the grim reality of it all. Lucia then turned around his left, coming into full view. His eyes glared upwards, ripping into her face. Her stolid glance glued to him, standing above him.

Audley shook his head, in utter disgust of this person he once thought as a friend. "I can't believe you," he told her. "Of all people, I never thought you as the traitor."

"Heh," the queen very lightly chuckled. "It's funny... I used to think I knew things too. But then, I learned a lesson. You think you know everything, but in actuality, you know nothing. Nothing is as it seems, what you know, you don't."

"...Why?" he then questioned in a demanding tone. "Why have you done this? Why would you defect...?"

"Because I had a great teacher," she answered him. "It is my duty as Queen of the Imperial Kingdom to destroy any who oppose my people. You and your Resistance were a threat, so I eliminated it."

" You did not eliminate it," Audley then corrected her, fearlessly staring her down. "You use his techniques that he taught you, slaughter the very people that he inspired, and then have the gall to claim the victory as your own? You bring shame to him... SHAME!"

"Are you done?" she asked.

"Go on, then," he permitted, raising his head up so that Lucia had a clear shot at his throat. "I will not face the indignity of being your pawn again. Others may submit, but I am not afraid to face the consequences of my defiance. You may break my bones and spill my blood, but I will not have it go wasted on building you an empire."

"I don't believe I said anything about making you a slave," Lucia informed him. Audley's head then fall down, giving Lucia a curious look. "Instead, I'm letting you go."

"...Why?" he questioned.

"Because I know you'll be heading to Lumbridge once you're out of here," she explained to him. "I'd like for you to deliver your leader a message from me, from the entire Imperial Kingdom."

"What's that?"

She then dropped down onto her knees, her pale blue eyes gazing straight into his soul. She had this look, this sense about her, it felt very sinister, densely dark. "Tell him what you saw today," she told him. "Describe to him in perfect detail the human carcasses that now line the streets, of the blood that stains their precious City of the White Knights. And then, tell him... this is what Lumbridge is going to look like very soon."

It took Audley a moment to recuperate, shaking off this feeling. Even Balor and Gallows were a little surprised by her response, so direct. Audley continued to look at her, wondering if this really was the same person he knew. "...And if I refuse?" he finally uttered.
