Her teeth grit, her face became a infuriated surface. Just as her anger came to its summit, a familiar grasp took hold of her shoulder. It felt like all that time ago once again, just as she met Raphael. She was so caught up in the twine of thought that she had partially left reality. So this happening made her jump a little.

She looked backwards, hoping to see that uplifting face once again. But instead, she saw Raphael once more. His hand felt just like Malik's, almost to the point where she actually thought it was him who attempted to comfort her. Raphael himself wasn't looking at her, but he knew exactly what it was that she was going through.

It seemed like forever since this funeral started, the melancholy like an everlasting flame that flicked but never faded. The priest had finally reached the bottom of the list, the final name was the name of a young man. The priest's hazel eyes then looked up at the darkening sky. "May these souls all rest silently in peace." he prayed.

An all-consuming black shrouded the men and women still standing, the whimpers and feelings of desperation and depression took over all. Everyone attempted to comfort each other, creating a strong unity. Raphael saw this as complete strangers who once upon a time never spoke a word to each other rallied together to deal with a situation all too familiar.

Words were muttered under the waters of other words. Questions of uncertainty was a common theme, but Raphael knew he had to say something to piece everyone back together. They were like lost cattle in need of a shepherd. Raphael valiantly stepped forward, departing from the heart of the crowd. He turned to face them all, his strong purple irises peered onto their visages.

"Everyone," said Raphael. Once the young leader spoke, all stood and listened with interest. "As I can imagine, these past few days must've been extremely hard to get through. So, I just wanted to say that... I am very proud of all of you. You've all rallied together in order to deal with this situation. And seeing it all happen, I know we can make it through."

Raphael raised his right hand up to about the height of his mid-torso. It clenched together into a fist, confirming his conviction. "For the sake of all of those who have died," he continued. "we will survive, we will succeed, and we will win."

A strong emotion appeared vividly in Raphael's eyes, an unfaltering courage and will that stood like a banner over a battlefield for everyone to see. His heart poured into the glass cup of everyone's souls, welling them up with strength. A speck of hope and determination made its presence known throughout the crowd.

That purple dragon -- the marker of the Resistance -- still stood waving. It wasn't the end, those of the crowd realized. There was still strength left in their hearts, still things that needed to be done. One of those things was to see this battle through to the end. They wanted to create a world for their children and for all those under the sole of the gods.

The people stepped forward to tend to their dead, to perhaps say a few words to them about this revelation. Raphael watched them pass him by with a soft smile on his face. He saw the glitter, the spark that he was looking for. Elena stood there as the crowd fled, staring at Raphael. "I guess he really did learn from the best," she thought to herself.

Raphael turned onto her, they both looked at each other with confidence. They shook their heads at each other, replying that they indeed are quite hopeful of the future for these people.

Two weeks had come and gone like a fast moving target in the cross-hairs of a sniper, the cells of this annihilated body had begun the healing process. With the helping hand of friendly faces, the townspeople rebuilt their lives one swing at a time. Though there was still very much to be done, the hearts and minds of those of the city of Lumbridge were completely in-sync.

Homes and buildings were still in their skeleton form, but their skin had begun to reform. Though their conviction had been recaptured, some things still had not healed. Sharps glares and curses were still thrown at Elena's direction, cutting into her deeply. But she knew if blaming it all on her helped them, she would be willing to be the scapegoat.

Elena walked down the stretch of hallway of the west wing of the castle, passing doors and purple banners on her way. The young boy she grew to love as her brother was walking the opposite way of her, coming towards her from her left. Elena's pale blue eyes couldn't help but to take a look upon the boy who didn't even return the favor.

He just kept staring straight without a word. This happened all the time, people passing her by like complete strangers. She paused just as Uriel passed her, turning her torso to her left and looking at his back. "Uriel," she spoke his name.

"Don't speak my name, god." demanded angrily the boy with the arm cloak. Uriel paused in the center of the hallway, not even looking back at Elena. "You and I both know you don't deserve to be here."

Her eyes fell down with dismay, sorry for all the things she had done. She didn't know what to say to him. "I'm so sorry..." she softly apologized.

"You think that's gonna do anything? Try saying that to all those people outside," the boy's assault continued, but then he began to walk away from her. . "...I'm sure they'd be grateful for your sympathy." The archer had absolutely no idea what to say. This left a gaping hole in her heart, one that would perhaps never be sewn back together.

The two weeks that passed flipped a coin of change, one side bright and the other side dark. These changes came into effect even in Governanti, the near perfect paradise of the Solasúians. Inside the castle that housed their king, Gallows approached a door that just two weeks created quite the event.

With news spread wide of the princess' return and recapture, Gallows knew that the repercussions of this weighed heavily on his king. The door at the end of the long hallway of majorelle blue carpet and Adamas crystallized walls, a familiar room of that once belonged to Princess Lucia herself.

Noticing the general approaching, one of the two Loyal Knights guarding the way clenched their hand on the doorknob leading into the room. Pulling the door open for him, Gallows made his way in. But the sound of one voice holding a conversation came into the air.

The door was quietly closed shut behind the general. Gallows' sky blue eyes gazed upon the back of his king, who was sitting at the table in the center of the room. There were two cups of tea on top of the table, one in front of Balor and the other in front of an empty seat.

Balor had noticed the sound of the door open and close. He quickly turned his head and saw the general standing there with somewhat of a questionable expression on his face. Even more questionable was the rather joyful expression on Balor's face. He was smiling from eye to eye. But Gallows' eyes could tell that something was very amiss within his king.

His hair was longer than what it once was those weeks ago and it was quite unkempt. His five o'clock shadow also grew thicker. He looked extremely tired, like he hadn't gotten very much sleep in the past two weeks. "Ahh, Sergius!" said Balor, acknowledging his general's appearance. "We were just talking about you!"

Gallows raised his left eyebrow. ""We," sire?" asked the battle-hardened general.

Balor held his left hand out, pointing it towards the empty chair. "Of course," he replied. "I was just telling Lucia about that one time when you were shouting at that human who you later hung for his lack of competence!"

He took a step towards his king. "But my lord," continued Gallows. "there is no one there."

Balor planted his left hand against his face. Something then began to manifest from under Balor's lips. "Hahahahaha..." the king chuckled. He then removed his hand from his face and looked up at Gallows. "What are you talking about, Sergius?" he asked with amusement, hia voice still broke out with laughter. He once again pointed to that empty chair. "She's right here!"

Gallows shook his head. "No, my lord," he denied. "Princess Lucia is at the Lumbridge Resis—"

The king quickly rushed over to Gallows and lunged his right palm at his torso. The blow pushed Gallows backwards, his back smacked against the wall. The next thing Gallows realized was a glitter of the Arbandor up against his throat. The blade pressed very closely against Gallows, almost to the point where Gallows could see his own blood dripping from a slight cut.

Balor pinned Gallows with the blade, his face grew red with fury. "You think I don't know where my own sister is, Gallows?!" he angrily growled.

"My lord, she isn't here!" he shouted, trying to break this illusion.

"What rubbish!" the king yelled back. "My beautiful sister is sitting right —" But then Balor's sword lightened up a bit, his face seemed startled. His ears then focused, it seemed like he was listening to something. He turned his head over to the empty chair, his sapphire blue irises staring up where the face of a person would be if they were sitting in that chair.

He lightly smiled, closing his eyes. He drew in breath into his lungs, letting it out in a sigh. "You're too kind, Lucia," he stated. The Arbandor backed off of Gallows' throat, Balor turned away from Gallows and began walking back towards his chair. As he did, he sheathed his blade. He sat back down in his chair and looked forward.

Gallows let out a relieved sigh, releasing his apprehension. "Gallows," spoke his king's voice. "bring that human to me."

"The archer?"

"Yes," answered Balor. "I wish to know more about this... boy he mentioned."

Gallows bowed, forgetting completely the actions that Balor took against him. "As you wish, my lord," assured Gallows as he began to leave the room. With the quiet shutting of the door, Gallows disappeared from sight. The general traveled down floor after floor, being greeted with respect by each soldier he passed.

He passed familiar face after familiar face until he reached a open doorway that was like the mouth of darkness. A soldier at the side of the door handed the general a lit torch before he entered into the throat of the culmination of all things that made this world an evil place. Step by step, Gallows walked down a narrow pathway of stairs descending underneath of the luxury of the gods.

From afar, the master archer could hear the echoes of Gallows' footsteps. Finally, Gallows had reached the bottom floor of the castle, the dungeon. Alone was a small candle of dim light at the center of the room. Shinon saw the scar-faced general's torchlight appear to cut across the shadow. The dungeon room Gallows found himself in was the length of a two school buses and the width of a one-hundred feet.

Though there were more rooms about the size of soccer fields, this room was the main one to house 'special' prisoners, such as Shinon. The archer spitefully glared at Gallows from across the room. Gallows found Shinon sitting on his bed, with his right leg arched up and his left leg straight out in front of him.

Though the bed he laid in was much better than others, the prison cell was still quite hard to live in. His right arm was still bandaged up from the injury he sustained in the fight at Lumbridge two weeks ago. Gallows' faintly glowing sky blue eyes peered down upon Shinon's face, his hand grasping upon a string of keys. "His Majesty requests your presence in Princess Lucia's room." stated Gallows.

"We had a deal," he reminded the general. "I'm not going anywhere until I get to see my brother."

"From what I remember of it, you have yet to fulfill your side of the bargain." returned Gallows, opening up the prison cell. Gallows closed his eyes and sighed. "You needn't worry, human. I doubt anything will befall upon the boy. Lord Balor is far more graceful than that."

"For your sake, you'd better pray that's true." replied Shinon in a threatening, aggressive tone. He stood up from his bed, his eyes never leaving Gallows' side. The two then began to leave the dungeon, retracing Gallows' steps and regained his ascension back up to the heavens. In Lucia's room, Balor continued to chat away with his 'sister'.

His conversation would be cut short by the expected sound he had been waiting for. Balor looked behind him and saw Gallows standing next to the prisoner he had requested. Balor stood up from his chair, carrying with him a cup of tea. "Ah, Shinon Isaiah, was it?" said the king. "I do believe this to be the first time we've met. I am Balor Pallas Barn, your king. You have my gratitude for bringing back to me my beloved sister."

"As if I care," he growled with disrespect.

Gallows glared at the red-haired archer. "Mind your tongue, human!" angrily demanded the general.

Balor closed his eyes, sipping his tea as Gallows spoke. He then placed his cup back onto the plate just as he was about to speak. "Relax yourself, Gallows." calmly advised Balor. His eyes then reopened, their blue gaze taking aim upon the archer. "Well, if you don't care then I suppose you don't value your brother's life at all."

Shinon's expression quickly blew up into a massive inferno of rage. "Leave him out of this, Balor! He's just a child!" yelled Shinon. "But I swear... you do anything to him, and I will rip your throat out."

Balor smirked. "Oh, calm yourself," he suggested. "He is safe and sound, I assure you. And he will remain so. He is, after all, just a child."

Shinon's face darkened but still retained a sliver of that former anger. "So, what do you want?" he questioned.

"In that letter you wrote, you mentioned something about a boy in the Resistance possessing strange markings on his left arm." explained Balor. "So, I ask... what were these markings like exactly?"

Shinon's eyes wandered, his memory flew back to that exact moment. That single frame, that single image appeared rather well in his mind. He remembered the symbols of the gods, the Stone of Jas, and other rather odd scriptures. "The Stone of Jas -- the one from the legend." he recollected. "The symbols of the gods, and a strange cross with a triangle in the center of it..."

""A strange cross with a triangle in the center of it", you say." Balor quoted as he begun to ponder. He thoughtfully took a sip of his tea as his mind buzzed with questions.

Gallows turned to his lord with curiosity. "Sire?"

Balor then turned his head towards that empty chair once more. "Any ideas, sister?" he asked the phantom. He paused and acted as though he were listening to someone talk. A moment passed away, he began to shake his head. "Hmm... yes, you're right! If this is true then we must act immediately on it."

The king continued on the conversation with the ghost he had made. Shinon looked over at Gallows. "Who the hell is he talking to?" he asked.

Gallows closed his eyes. "His sister," he answered.

Shinon raised his eyebrow. "Guess I must be blind," the archer continued. "'cause I ain't seeing anybody."

Balor turned towards Gallows, a confident smirk was pulled onto his face. "Gallows," he named. "bring the boy -- this Uriel -- to me."

Gallows stood straight and placed his right hand on the left side of his chest. "With haste, my lord." he responded. "But may I ask why, sire?"

"This "strange cross" is the seal of the Elder Gods," answered Balor. "only their agents carry their seal. This boy will bring us Soter, and with him the immortality that he possesses."

Gallows shook his head and began to walk away. He left the room, closing the door behind him. Shinon's hands clenched together into a tight fist. "There," he said. "I gave you your information! Now give me my brother!"

"Really?" replied Balor as he then turned his eyes to his left. "What do you think, sister? Shall we allow him to have the child back?"

Shinon's teeth grit together, becoming furious with Balor who toyed with him. "There's nobody there, you lunatic!" shouted Shinon.

Balor glared at Shinon. The archer was not at all fazed by this happening. "You vermin," Balor called to Shinon with annoyance. "she sits before you. You should be grateful that she's so kind, allowing a plebeian to stand in her presence."

Shinon shrugged his shoulders. "Guess you must be touched in the head," he responded. "'cause I still ain't seeing anybody."

"Do you think me insane, human?" Balor asked. "So insane that I would conjure up phantoms!"

Shinon shook his head. "Yeah... I do," Shinon dauntlessly answered. Within the blink of an eye, Balor had placed his cup of tea down on the table where his 'sister' was sitting and reappeared in front of Shinon. He placed his left hand around the master archer's throat and began to lift him up off of the ground.

Shinon still had yet to be fazed by this king, he didn't look fearful at all. "And you know what else," continued Shinon as his voice began to dissipate. "when I do find Lucia, I'm gonna kill her for what she did to my sister. Then I'm gonna kill you for what you did to my brother."

Hearing the archer confess his intentions, the anger seething within the king couldn't help but to loosen up a bit. An unexpected sound then engulfed the air. Balor clenched his face as he had begun to laugh. The archer's expression changed to welcome the strange occasion, his eyebrows rose up and his jaw hung ajar.

Balor then gently tossed Shinon off to his right as his laughter continued. The master archer hits the floor on his left side, quickly flipping back onto his feet. He stood there on his knees and watched the king just laugh hysterically. His eyes squinted, his face reflected his outrage towards the king who found his feelings to just be something to laugh at.
