Turning Raphael's head in that direction, Lamia looked over to the red-haired archer. She watched from around him as the Unicorn Stallion stepped away from him, walking back over to the still bloody genius. "Quite the single-minded mortal you've acquired," Lamia remarked.

"You say, "single-minded," I say, "I have my priorities straight,"" Shinon replied, almost in a corrective tone. He then crossed his arms, looking his eyes out towards the group. "So, what's next?"

" Weeeell... we still gotta get the message out ta Yáatiq 'bout the plan," the lazy assassin put out, opening up the discussion into the future. "'Course, dat might be easier said than done 'cause-a, well, y'know..."

His radiant steed by his side, healing him, the genius was enveloped in that faint white glow, feeling that warm, searing touch suture his wounds. "I'll go," Telvern volunteered, stepping up to the plate.

Calvin looked to the genius, handing up a rather questionable look. "I dunno 'bout dat, egghead," he disputed Telvern, his voice spoke with doubt and uneasiness over that decision.

"I'm the best qualified," the genius strongly believed. "If trouble is close at hand, I'll be able to detect it earlier. If someone suspects me, I'll be able to know it beforehand. I've my Solasúian powers and the skills I've gained over the years, including the ones I've acquired from here. There's no one else more tailored for this task than me."

"Eh, guess yer right," the assassin passively commented, then scrolling his eyes out to his comrades. "Uh, any objections, fellas?"

Shinon closed his eyes and shrugged his shoulders. "Why not?" he replied, then smirking lightly. "Better your hide than mine."

"Are you sure that's the best idea?" Daevarro voiced his worries. "I mean, you made valid points, but..."

"We are permitted little choice," the Neheztelian goddess suddenly came in to state, discouraging the dark-robed youth. "'Tis but a brief time before Balor's hand around the throats of the many is made to suffocate."

Telvern shook his head, looking over at the Lamia-possessed Raphael. "Indeed," he agreed, but noticing as Daevarro looked over at the genius with concern. "Don't worry, Daevarro. I'm not so foolish as to take on a task that I'm not confident I can accomplish."

"If you insist..." the young man responded. "Just be careful."

"Well, guess dat 'bout wraps things up, eh?" said Calvin, but then, an exclamation mark lit up in his head. He very rapidly shifted his head over to the one, the being for which his family has long held to the highest regard, worship the very ground of. "So, 'ey... Uh, what're ya gonna do?"

"I've grown weary of the curtains," Lamia gave Calvin an answer, feeling the electricity of him wanting to spring off of his feet. "I believe this to be the appropriate time to give aid, would you not agree?"

Calvin smirked happily, his eyes so full of hope in this time of desolation. Feeling just as overcome by her compelling, awe-inspiring magnificence as his other brothers and sisters, his knees buckled out from under him. It was like he had suddenly begun ill, sickened beautifully by this majesty. He humbly fell to his knees, folded his hands together, and bowed his head to the goddess hidden behind the silver-haired young man's face.

Lamia simply stood there, gazing down upon the head of the one who so respectfully bowed to her. She could feel his joy, his utmost happiness, his truly humbled heart fraught with pride and honor. "I am—" he said to her, before cancelling himself out. "— we are so incredibly and indescribably blessed to have you at our side, you and only you. We are so utterly grateful for your love, so honored and humbled by your presence alone. Jeen caza áljin betun, Jeen sellos Essa, Jeen quilu Lami. "

He could go on and on describing how absolutely transcendent she was, but even he'd eventually run out of adjectives. Such loyalty, such devotion, such adoration... Lamia could feel such things just emitted at a high frequency from Calvin's fondly spoken voice, the unquestionably faithful. He just stood there upon his knees before the feet of his glorious mother, willing to wait beyond even an eternity for just a breath, just a touch from her.

"Listen to me, child," the goddess said to her subject. "I've a matter to attend to, one which requires me elsewhere. I rely upon you to shepherd everyone together, to make preparations for tomorrow's endeavor."

"If ya ask it, then I'll git it done," Calvin proudly accepted, answering the call of duty without even the slightest hesitation.

Confident in the assassin, Lamia would leave him to it. She turned Raphael's body away from Calvin, stepping off to where she originally came from. Telvern's eyes digging deeply into the flesh of the young man she had possessed, and Daevarro's hazel eyes followed Telvern's lead. But the genius' eyes were more analytic, investigating beyond anywhere anyone else could go.

Telvern's eyes scanned through her, passing mere appearances and sugar-coated words. He sought her out in a far more candid, simple sense, free of deception. But for the first time ever, such a place was impossible to access. Telvern was stumped by this, caught off-guard, unable to gain knowledge of her thoughts, of her memories.

She could feel this off-put shock radiate off of Telvern, knowing well the lockpick's hand intended to open up what simply should not be. Lamia reacted not to this, choosing to simply ignore it. She headed off towards the cut down jungle of black-robed bodies, moving just passed the dark-robed young man.

Daevarro felt that bone-chilling breeze brush by him, sending a frightful chill down even his spine. "Wait," spoke out Daevarro, trying to halt the goddess. "where are you going?"

"There is a matter in which I must look into," she gave him a rather vague reply, not even pausing in her step. "Fret not, Palaemmir . Raphael shall be returned to you all soon."

The young man then quickly turned around, his front facing the back of the familiar young man he had grown to admire. "W-wait—!" Daevarro shouted this time, trying to get her to stop and explain herself.

But it was too late, the back that his eyes had tightly locked on to melted away like being vaporized by an almighty light. It was a sort of light that Daevarro remembered seeing before, of course, that was when she shoved him away to steal his sister's pendant from him. Raphael's body dissolved into a flash of light, leaving behind a flicking, pale red light that was in the shape of his body.

This luminous body would not live for very long, eradicating just moments after its appearance. But its death would not go in vain, spawning life to flow upwards like its soul fleeing from the scene. Those tiny little filaments of light flowed skywards, their feeble yet strangely dazzling bodies scattered apart, happily and boundless.

Gone now from their vision, the assassin given the reigns over his fellow brothers and sisters rose up from the ground. His body now unburdened by injury, able to walk as properly as any normal man. It was quite a gift to the assassin, looking down upon his feet in motion with a grateful smile flourishing, perhaps finding a new appreciation.

Heading for his family still upon their knees, it was his turn to give back to others, to restore their legs and bestow to them the treasure of animation once again. "All righty, folks," announced the assassin out to his brothers and sisters, standing over the multi-layered ring of bodies. "Get up on ya feet, Lamiaquil'a requires us! Need some people ta help gather tagether some supplies fer the trip, need some people ta help ready some-a the weapons..."

Telvern, Daevarro, and Shinon listened on as Calvin directed traffic. Black cloth rushed amok, ascending from the sand and beige brick stone that made the floor. Groups of people were told where to go and what to do, flying from one place to the next. Calvin's commanding voice carried on without a hitch, without missing a beat.

His finger pointed from one place to the next, his eyes always looking in its opposite direction. It almost looked like he were doing some kind of leaderly dance, his body so animated as it stepped everywhere. There simply wasn't an inch of ground he did not cover, in both eyes and feet.

"Well, they seem to have all that covered," Shinon thought, sitting back down in the chair he had originally forsook. He leaned causally back in that chair, throwing his hands behind his head like he were under arrest. The archer then let out a rather loud yawn, closing his tired, exhausted eyes to retire for the day. "They wanna do all the work while I kick back, close my eyes, and take a nap? Don't mind if I do..."

The archer sat back, so completely at ease and comfortable to the entirety of the situation. Not at all did he appear worried or tense, not over their plans against Governanti, not even a thing. It was as easy as drawing breath into his lungs, one that was just so simple to let go. He laid his weary mind to rest, let not even a thought take over his mind.

But not all were so peaceful with the situation as him, the red-haired archer. Telvern and Daevarro's heads still glued to the exact spot where Lamia had disappeared, their hearts welling up with angst and distrust. Indeed, there were still too many questions, too much doubt over all of the landscape that their eyes could see.

Regardless, Telvern and Daevarro both knew that now was not the time to press for answers. Indeed, their minds had to look to the horizon, to the path which laid before him. Such could be said to all of the people here, the busy buzz of activity to brace for the future stirring all around the two who seemed stuck in the past.

The assassin named Calvin wanting things done far ahead of schedule, wanting to do as his goddess and loving mother instructed him. This husk was truly alive once again, they were free and going strong. Far away were they from the cold-steel shackles which made them truly asleep, bound to the wallows of sorrow and hopelessness.

But for now, it seemed that they were gliding whimsically upon this second wind, a gentle gust which guided this paper bird like the water under a ship. They rode off into that borderline between heaven and earth, a reality for which they could only recognize as an abyss, a true hell. Steady were their hands, steadfast were their wills, their goals fast ahead of them.

There was but little time left between them and their recall to the battlefield, before their destiny could truly be told. But whatever the case, there was uneasiness within it all, in more ways than one.

To be cradled in the light of the sun or be burned out, to be found by victory or defeat... They could only hope now, for it was all they could do...

Chapter 26: Carry On

Finished the previous chapter, not the most recent you posted on the 8th. The former chapter has much description and walking, going through the godly world to meet the elders after all the sightseeing. I liked the reference about jumping into a whirlpool, was that because of the brief funny posts I had with the other guy?

Anyways, here's another odd happening. After I read the part of the young man's divine empowerment, something happened in the forums, giving me a message "Temporarily unavailable" with a big cracked hole on the right with a pair of glowing red eyes staring at me through the screen. I then knew something bad would happen!

When this morning came, the forums were back. Included is the sick old lady, who seems to awaken but is unable to do much. Soon, the story takes a sudden change of mood. I liked the part when the arrows fall out the quiver; if you actually wear a quiver on your back, the arrows will fall out in you lean over. Hence, quivers were worn on the side of the waist/hip instead.

I'll have to read the latest chapter next, could take a while, though. See you then, then.

Ah, hello again.

No, no reference there, just coincidental!

I remember running into that problem too! I was just going to checking on my threads (the recent gravedigging would be to blame), check out the Recent Updates forum, stuff like that. Nope. I got those darn eyes! Reminds me of this advertisement for an X-Men film that was on the RuneScape website several years back, I'll never forget that thing. xD

Well, I thought that it just made sense. The guy's tumbling down, it's not like those arrows are strapped down or anything.

Anywhos, thanks again as usual for reading and commenting. I appreciate it, as always! Also, take your time, there's no rush. But yeah, speak to you then.

Well, finally got through this. Oddly enough, I don’t remember much, I seem to have lost a lot of energy. We go through some descriptive fighting, arrival of a goddess, the importance of her pendant, defeating the illusionists, Soter loses some chunks, returning the pendant, answering questions, and then continuing the quest. I found the thieves to be rather easy to deal with, I was expecting something more challenging, but oh well, guess they weren’t anything anyways.

I also noticed that there are descriptions for just about everything happening, even slight movements, or just staring, require several words to add poetic licence. Not a bad thing, but somewhat overwhelming for me. Well, at least I finally added one piece of criticism after so long, better than nothing. It’s just that the vastness of the storyline is a bit too much to memorize, especially when I’m reading dozens of other stories on Wattpad, it’s not easy to remember.

Well, closer and closer to the end, just 10% more to go or so!

Oh, hello again. Good to see you.

"I also noticed that there are descriptions for just about everything happening, even slight movements, or just staring, require several words to add poetic licence. Not a bad thing, but somewhat overwhelming for me."

Maybe... It's just that I had a very specific idea with what was going on with the scene in my mind, and constantly going about it without such things bothered me. But I suppose in hindsight that it might be a little, well, excessive. xD

"It’s just that the vastness of the storyline is a bit too much to memorize, especially when I’m reading dozens of other stories on Wattpad, it’s not easy to remember."

Well, all the explanations were a bit necessary. Quite necessary, actually. Though, I don't think that I'll be needing to explain much else from this point on. I mean, there might be a few parts here and there, but nothing like the last two chapters.

Anyway, thanks again for reading, as always. I appreciate it!
