Hello any and all who... actually read/care about this!

I apologize for the delay (y'know, promising a chapter per month and the last chapter was posted January and it's now APRIL ...) I've just been in a bit of an odd mood for the past couple of months and have been doing some serious procrastination. The next chapter's in the works, I swear! It's currently sitting at about 23,850 words, so it's getting there.

Anyway, yeah... Just wanted to do a quick update. Take care.

Don't feel rushed, it's not a race, you're allowed to take your time. But it's nice to know you're still around, too. Lately, my own writing has had a slight downfall, it must be the hot summer sapping strength. I tend to be more energetic during winter.

Good day any and all who bother reading this!

Just another update: I'm finally done the chapter! However, it'll probably take me a couple of days to post it because I'm gonna have to cut its length, make some edits, etc.

Anyway, thanks for your patience. Take care.

Oh hey, how've you been?

I insist on shortening the length because it's currently standing at about roughly 70,000+ words, so this is going a bit of a lengthy post. XD I'm working against a thread post limit, so I'm might end up having to repost the entire story once this story is all said and done. o_o

I'll probably end up just shortening it slightly, splitting it into two chapters, then pushing them out.

Anyway, take care.

Well, I now have two jobs, so hopefully, I'll feel an influx ov moar munnee! Still have sleeping problems as usual, but I feel less pains now. I may move out of my trailer within a few months. And, well, most of my work continues to be within Wattpad.

Sounds like a good idea, but I think over 500 posts is enough to do what you need. But yeah, you might have to repost the entire thing is necessary. I think this means that you've made the longest story in RSF history, superseding my own by now for sure. But we've both made enough stories to bypass the thread limit. I also have split chapters before, it usually works well.

Curiously enough, I noticed titanium chainmail armour appearing in some websites. They cost like three times more, but it is quite impressive. I'd love a titanium-based sword, that'd be epic! See you around.

^Oh yes, that does seem interesting! o:

Chapter 26: Carry On

The most frigid air billowed down briskly across his skin, spreading with such speed like a wildfire of ice. The hairs all along his body stood erect, the gelid blaze rushed down his body like all life frantically trying to escape it. In actuality, the state of himself was not so different.

His mind simply couldn't free itself from the snare of those days, caught in the tug-and-pull of his very own memories and emotions. He was ravaged like a building engulfed in those flames, devastated still...

...But there was one salvation among the ruins, one place to find comfort and safety. He held onto those words bequeathed from that strange dream, from the one he truly yearned to see again. But the act of standing up would prove to be so much harder than the act of falling down, the greatest challenge any human being could possibly accept. Though it dragged on for the longest of times, he felt this world closing in on him.

His eyes finally had the urge to open, his consciousness the desire to awaken. He was greeted by an unusual smell beckoning with a subtle but sound voice, racing into his nostrils at a snail's pace. It was an odd pairing of the stagnant scent of wet stone, dirt, and a flame. It was enough to pull him back, rip him out from the chains binding him to that cell, a cage that would rather him watch death play out over and over until he became numb and apathetic to all things.

Cracking his eyes open just enough to see, Raphael's vision fixated upon a ceiling of some kind. A candle's light gave his environment a bright yet dark orange hue, keeping the darkness away with its gracefully waltzing breath. His body felt exhausted despite having just woken up, moving even a inch was quite demanding. It could be perhaps that all of this fighting and anarchy had finally begun to catch up with him, perhaps he just needed to rest.

He didn't have to get up, he didn't want to...

But any place was better than his dreams, a place plagued and decimated. Cushioned atop a firm, rectangular-shaped cloud, the silver-haired young man slowly began to ascend. He was too scared to sleep, hulling his taxed torso up from the bed and blankets. The blankets shielding him from the cold bunched up with wrinkles due to his position, his right knee bent up and his left leg out to his front.

Raphael's eyes fell down, taking hold of his right hand. He opened his right hand up, his vision grabbing onto his exposed palm. Shadow draped over him, a candle's dancing light reflecting off of the windows into his soul, his very humanity. Many questions shot off in his head, trying to piece together how he ended up here. The process had him in a death-snatch, making him hustle just to get one answer for but one of his many questions.

"What was I...?" he asked with bemusement to himself, a person who couldn't even begin to give an answer. "What even happened?"

He gulped saliva down hard, not able to remember very much after his invitation to the otherworldly plane known as Solasúila. His exposed hand clenched his forehead, trying to decipher the massive blur that was his memory. But doing so was like solving a massive labyrinth whilst blindfolded, unimaginably difficult. Raphael undertook the seemingly impossible task of remembering, but even a sun could not frighten this darkness.

As he fought this incredibly stubborn uncertainty, he couldn't help but to feel something take aim upon his back. A pair of eyes held him closely, its heat warming the skin upon Raphael's back. It shattered the walls of silence around Raphael, pulling his ear.

He thoroughly scanned the area, going steadily from one place to another. Every corner of every corner was clear, he was all by himself here. So why did he sense this presence around him, what was it? But this question sparked a match in his mind, remembering everything from what seemed like long ago.

"Lamia?" he then named out loud, still shuffling his head all around.

"It seems you've retained your memory," Raphael's ears caught the Neheztelian goddess' voice despite it originating from nowhere. "Very good, then I'll not have to explain much to you."

"Was I not supposed to?"

" Dego, but there stood the potential that you might not have," she quickly clarified. "But 'tis a welcomed relief to see that you've clung to your memory."

"Yes, I can remember everything now," the silver-haired young man confirmed, slowly stepping up off of the bed. "So, is everyone ready to depart?"

"Relax yourself, child," Lamia stressed. "You have been asleep for several sets of the sun now, 'twould be unwise to strain yourself."

"We don't have the luxury of time," Raphael adamantly expressed, his face seemed somewhat pained and his stance slightly hunched over. "I need to get everyone together."

"You are quite ambitious," the goddess expressed, watching as Raphael attempted to adjust himself to this newfound burden upon himself. "Take heed that it does not destroy you."

"I'll be the one to worry about that," the young man responded, then turning towards his surroundings.

A small room of light brown stone around him, condensed with stuff suitable for a bedroom: a drawer, mirror, bed, and a table or two. As he searched for a door to lead him out of the room, Raphael's purple eyes saw something sitting atop the wooden table which wielded melting wax, attracting his eyes.

He was drawn to it, forcing his tired legs to reach it. Lamia watched then as Raphael saw that which was left behind, viewing him as he stood over the table. He closely inspected the contents, finding that it was equipment sitting by the candle's fire. A humble, ornate brigandine made of black leather was the ground of which a matching pair of pauldrons and vambraces stood upon.
