"My queen, you are the central figure in which his life gyrates around," the knight continued, kindly earnest. "If the helm of a rebellion is not your place as you say, then become the harbinger of its effects in another way. Alternate the innards of the system, revise Governanti's laws and orders, bestow the humans freedom gradually! If there's a soul alive that can reach His Majesty, it's you, my queen."

Hearing Achernar advise her certainly made him sound more fitting of the position of tactician than noble knight of the Loyal Army. Yet these words were encouraging, reinvigorating indeed, a monsoon to an arid land. Lucia invested much time and thought into this idea, and with each passing second, her desire to make it so intensified.

Considering the last image of her brother was a broken, spiteful man, the black-haired queen knew very much of the work that was required in order to build him back up. Yet despite this imposing task, she was more than willing to lend herself as the hammer and nail. But above all else, all she truly desired... was to see her brother's smile again.

"...You're right, of course," she commented, her face lit with a bright conviction. "Change needn't always require action, but conversation. That's why, when I return to Governanti, I'll have a word with my brother. There must be something that I can do..."

"Well spoken, my queen," complimented Achernar, inspired. "I've confidence in your success."

Lucia then turned to her knight, smiling confidently. "It's all thanks to you, Achernar," she kindly expressed her appreciation. "You've my gratitude."

Achernar shook his head. "You did everything yourself, my queen," the knight humbly passed off. "I've done nothing to earn your esteem."

Lucia looked back upon the lusciously verdant land afore her, the warm winds fiddling around with her long, ebony strands of hair. A mass spectrum of reds and oranges washed over the sky, giving this mystery, surreal land a splash of honest splendor. This vast landscape of tall, curvy vegetation, making it feel as though staring off into the sea drained of all its water.

"You know a lot about Morytania, correct?" she asked him, intrigued by the profound beauty of this land's elusive nature. "Why hasn't the Imperial Kingdom captured it yet?"

"Well, similarly to the far west, our forces charged headlong into quite the wall," Achernar explained. "Of the battalion Lord Dias commanded into Morytania, only one found his way back. In the blur of his confused, frantic speech, he stated a flurry of strange, atrocious happenings. Most notably, it would seem Morytania residents are humans who are apparently capable of shedding their humanly form and transforming into massive, vicious beasts. Among the several other monstrosities he mentioned, there was also the "blood-sucking Neheztelians"..."

Hearing such a perplexing name be cast out into the air, the queen turned to her knight. "..."Blood-sucking Neheztelians"?" quoted Lucia with a raised eyebrow.

"An odd choice of label, I must admit, but yes," the knight went on. "The soldier described them as having deathly pale skin, pointed ears, and murderously sharp claws like that of a Neheztelian. However, what sets them apart is that they bear canines as though a hound and a seemingly insatiable desire for blood. The soldiers who wrestled their way out of those man-beasts were immediately ambushed from above as though these creatures had been waiting for them the entire time, which would imply that they have intelligence and keen tactical instincts. Needless to say, many of our men were slaughtered, and a retreat was certainly in order. Since then, we've been stationed here, in case they try for us themselves."

"That's certainly disturbing," the queen commented, off-put. "I don't suppose they got very far, did they?"

"Not at all," he answered honestly. "In fact, I fear that there are even more terrifying, nightmarish creatures lying beyond the horizon."

"Most likely," she regrettably concurred, settling her eyes back onto Morytania. "...What an unusual land."

The two simply gazed upon the sight in silence, feeling the lukewarm sun beaming down upon them with evening light. Her inquisitive nature getting the best of her, Lucia's imagination went on a rampage. She drew pictures of savage man-beasts and blood-sucking Neheztelians in her mind, a slew of images she'd not soon forget. What an unusual land, indeed...

From strange, unknown lands to a land with one known fact: the cold was everywhere. It was the only thing to be known, the only thing to be concerned with. But each soul lost in this abyss served out a long, brutal sentence, yet their salvation was just nigh. Its glorious rise peered over the horizon, willing away the darkness, the unbearable cold.

Their eyes cracked up, counting their lucky stars to find their bodies still drawing breath. Their faces rose out from their frozen-dirt pillows, their limbs painfully frozen and stiff, their legs still stinging from the pain of a thousand miles. They stood up from the frozen soil, grateful to still be alive. The morning light eclipsed by the jagged mountain top, yet the gentle, beautiful sunlight peered around the rock.

Parts of their body were caught under small, yet generously warm rays of illumination, purging all of the frost from their veins. Its presence ignited their bodies, their feet taking a bite of the crunchy, frigid snow. With steadfast determination and resolve, each body stepped away from the valuable flames, seeking out the ones who were simply priceless.

Raphael and Telvern traveled side-by-side, Daevarro, Libitina, and Neeson searched together, and Calvin, Malik, Shinon, and the rest of the cavalry looked. One by one did the groups come together, until finally, they were all together again. To see one another again, after the terrors of the wolves and the harshness of the cold, it was a heartfelt moment, truly.

Although finally getting to see her once more, Calvin did note an injury to Libitina's leg. It wasn't terrible, yet still did it prove a hindrance and a pain to her. With a heavy sigh and a kind shake of his head, Calvin carried her upon his back, despite her wishes. Yet the lazy assassin greatly cared and admired his queen, not desiring at all to watch her struggle.

Banded together once more, morale became high. The fight for survival was steadily turning in their favor, indeed the wheel of fate began to turn. As they rode through the frozen cold and the snow, pushing out every ounce of vitality left in them, their hopes and prayers could finally become answered.

They trekked up a tall, steep incline, one riddled with sharp stones hidden beneath the snow. Of course, for some, such a hike was laughably effortless. Neeson simply charged as fast as he could, igniting to a dizzying speed. He sped up the incline as though just another couple of feet to him, whizzing by his traveling companions whom dripped with a nervous sweat and chuckle.

The climb was treacherous indeed, one which made many struggle greatly with. After bearing all the pain, all the cold, all the exhaustion to get to this point, perhaps it was simply too much for some. Climbing up this incline proved no easy feat, but for some experienced in this sort of thing, it proved less of a challenge.

Being veterans at climbing, Calvin and Libitina were the first ones of the pack to reach the top. Calvin and Libitina clawed their fingers deeply into the ground, piercing through the ground's frozen, snow-white armour and burrowed their nails into its earthy flesh. Their eyes rose above the icy eclipse, finding their absolutely exhausting battle completed... But what their eyes gazed upon made it all seem worth it.

"...'Ey, fellas," shouted Calvin from up top, trying his best to collect his jaw from the floor. "Git yaselves up 'ere! Ya gotta see dis!"

Such words were easily said than done, but those below devoted themselves more so to this trek than ever before, eager to see exactly what the big deal was. Their efforts were doubled, trying so desperately to power through their debilitation. One by one, the group found themselves at the top, gazing upon something straight out of a dream.

Though his frail build made this trek quite difficult on him, Daevarro was determined to reach the top. Although his step flattered, he had a little assistance. Raphael stood solidly beside him, grabbing hold of him before he could tumble. Raphael supported Daevarro, allowing the dark-robed young man to regain his foothold.

"Come on, we're almost there," Raphael said to Daevarro, encouraging him. That little nudge of confidence was enough, fueling the young man like the warm ocean air to a hurricane. Though he struggled and nearly gave in, he never gave up. Seeing as the young man began to weaken, Libitina reached out her hand for one last assist.

Finally standing at the top, the group basked in a light they had all but forgotten. But there was more than the mere illumination, their eyes feasting delightfully upon an absolute smorgasbord of colors, lights, and sights. They were high up from the ground, they could see so much from this place. Every speck of detail was not outside of their grasp, they felt like they could see the entire world from their vantage point.

They could see the multitude of trees swaying in the gentle breeze, the sun's light dancing on the ocean water's surface. They could hear the crash of the ocean unto the shore, smell the subtle yet wondrous, refreshing scent of the sea, so much so that they could almost taste the salt on their tongues. And there, lying consumed in the ocean, was the ruins of an old, abandoned town.

The atmosphere buzzed with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment, of achievement. To have come this far, battling through all the disasters, all the pain and death, all the bone-chilling fear... They felt empowered, inspired, making sure to never forget this feeling. For as long as they continued to believe there was a way, a way could be made.

Some battled back tears in this moment of pure pride, pure elation, some bore smiles that grew so largely that could never be completely wiped away. For they knew, now they knew, this was all worthwhile. With one step ahead of him, Raphael was the first to move ahead into this terribly wondrous, unknown future, to move ahead into Alverra...

Much to read: my comments will be short per page, np for burial. Oh my, a year since I posted?

138 Telvern, Raphael, Shinon, Lamian, Calvin, Shakir, Libitina, Kereske: discuss plans until chapter 26 ends. Ah yes, worms, running on itty bitty legs...

Ch 27
Suspense, arrows of adamantite, warping? Magic? Lamia, speech. To celebration. Beautiful woman = shepherd, peculiar. Mail, guards, music box, guards die.
140 Kill, horseshoe charm, bad armour, teamwork, espionage, patrols. Guard mentions dislike to queen, others bored, chirping confuses guards, Talon Beast, infiltration, attacking.
141 Moat, ballista, infiltration, climbing across rope, Raphy, messy courtyard. Ha, I like how you mention guards escorting drunk people. Wheeled statue, talking of renovations, easy kills, compliments. Ha, “like an artist had way too much time on his hands” made me chuckle. Kills, chatting.
142 Egghead? Knot, nice yard, forgot lockpick (a funny scene), going, paintings, complaining guards. “symphony of madness” stands out. I like how armour is bypassed via gaps. Boxes, pondering, tea, dead.
143 Room, grumbling guards, smokescreen reference, talking, mist, anti-armour moves, going, boxes and barrels, cage, punch barrel (what a weak barrel), talking and examining it.

OK, I need space for comments. Last several pages are about infiltration and killing, and I like how you mention anti-armour attacks. Storytelling and description is good, but tends to expand on content that, say, does not really go into action. Page 143 is a good example, which has lots of paragraphs that seem to be third-person monologues or asides for a character or feature, but I think I recall you saying you liked doing that.

I feel this story would work best in you uploaded it to FanFiction, which has a section for RuneScape. This forum is basically dead, I dunno how Wattpad's going, so I feel you should consider moving onto FanFiction.

Hard to limit comments; don't know how to keep posting less fill-up thread!

Wattpad hasn't offered very much at all, frankly. So I took your advice and I've given FanFiction a look, Azi. It is fairly active, isn't it? Well, once I'm done revising the story on Wattpad (probably won't really focus on that until I'm done with the story on here), I'll see to posting this up on there too.

Also, sorry for the late, late reply. I've been aware of your post since the day you posted it, actually. I'm just trying to conserve posts! :D

Chapter 30: Angels Show Up in the Strangest Places

Far exceeding their wildest expectations, denying the Reaper their seemingly scheduled fates, this merged body of those of the Lumbridge Resistance and those of the Lamians somehow managed to survive White Wolf Mountain. Whether it be by sheer force of will or mere dumb luck, still they drew breath, still they trample upon earthly soil. Bestowed this newfound sense of gratitude for life, they intrepidly heed the call of their next challenge ahead...

Swish, swash, the water resounded in their tread. It was near nighttime by the time they managed to reach the ground, casting a foot into an ocean which had crawled up the shore and flooded out onto the mainland. The water's tint was vaguely yellowish-brown, its bottom was masqueraded by a thick fog. But if not by the fog, one could not see its bottom due to all this debris from a nearby network of piers and rubbish which drifted all around them.

Though the subtle hint of salt in the air was once considered reinvigorating, it was now corrupted, the noses of each individual now subjected to an unfathomably horrendous, nauseating stink. They could only dream to return to their cloud nine above the earth, but they've crash-landed down hard back into reality. And what a truly putrid way to return, a rancid smell so rank that many began dry-heaving upon entry.

Trying desperately to readjust themselves, they stumbled upon an ancient, forsaken little fishing hamlet. Its extremely weathered, barnacle-covered sign which formerly greeted its guests to the village floated right past them. Inquisitive minds attempted to read the sign as they passed, yet its writings were beyond reading, faded and gorged by the servants of the ocean.

Getting into the village, the water grew deeper, from once to the top of their ankles to now the middle of their calves. Their eyes gazing upon a ragged, torn, dreary village, the structures of its several houses and businesses were compromised. Their shingle roofs were tattered and peeling off, the wooden planks which made their bodies had been punished severely, whipped and beaten by the many high tides.

Beginning to rise up from each houses' base was the thick cover of barnacles, in fact, such creatures appeared everywhere, on everything. Though most structures remained upright, some buildings had begun to erode, their foundations having crumbled, bringing down the entire place with it. What was left of their remains was carried out by the ocean like workers dismantling it piece by piece, leaving nothing left.

The further they dwelled inside, the worst the debris became. All kinds of assorted objects littered this polluted, near-septic water: planks, debris, portraits, many sorts of everyday human resources, commodities, and novelties. Even entire ships had been pushed up onto the mainland, capsized and splintered apart. But even more than all these things was the presence of something else entirely, something that this village was previously renown for...

A mass load of fishing equipment was found wherever the eye looked, albeit in a terrible, unusable condition. Yet such equipment came by the crate-full, many still left untouched since man's departure as though abandoned in the frantic dash for deliverance. Sticking out of the water like reeds were a multitude of fishing rods, just sitting there by the wrecked pier, capturing the image of an exhilarating sport lost in its midst.

Traveling through this desolation with sorrow and grief, the group found the heart of this fishing hamlet, dead and motionless. Life no longer coursed through its veins, breath no longer drew from its lungs, only did its skeleton show proof that it ever existed to begin with. An amnesiac deprived of their identity, the sallow waters handled pieces of the village's former self like hands, attempting desperately to find someone to remember it again, to call out its name.

It was a murky, forlorn place truly, this village heart the epicenter of it all. Pieces of broken stalls found themselves by the legs of some of the group, poking at them as though desperate for love. A simple, joyous history was whispered so meekly, but if one sat and listened carefully, it could not go unheard.

A post for bartering, the sole income for a family, the hopes and dreams of the one who attended it everyday. The labours of catching these fish, the aspirations of one day striking it big, of fulfilling a dream in common with everyone else who drew breath. This once booming, buzzing, concordant ocean village once filled with these sorts of believers now laid crestfallen, its only purpose now to serve as food for the ocean.

"Damn, it jus' don't let up..." the social assassin, Calvin Albertia, commented, casting his eyes out into the ravaged world around him.
