Quietly to himself, he was left somber. This two-thousand pound cloud of melancholy always upon him, raining down regret and sorrow that weighed him down. And he had only himself to blame for this, none others. His face reflected this change, his hands clenched tightly, and his teeth grit together. He just kept staring, condemning himself for what he did.

With all the power and will he could muster, he painfully turned away. He needed to stop looking back, it was only hindering him and his fellow allies of the Resistance. So many people were riding on him, counting on him and his Resistance's success. With this, his mind played the many moments he witnessed the abuse of the gods to the humans.

With so many people depending on the Resistance to free them from their earthly purgatory, Raphael couldn't let this stop him anymore. The path he walked was lined with bodies, they wore the faces of all the many who stood up and died for the freedom that they all so wanted. He would stare at each of them, knowing that they all fought for the family and friends whom they loved so much.

Each day, they mourned and wore loss like armour made of stone. On the outside, they appeared strong, unbreakable. But on the inside, they were vulnerable, weak, prone to even the slightest wound. Even with all of this agony and suffering brewing all around him, he knew he couldn't stop. He walked on, winding down the path paved with the blood and bodies of his fallen comrades.

He stuttered and stopped, unsure of himself. Into the setting sun, the wind carried the pedals passed him. It was a sign, a sign for him to move on and keeping moving. No, he couldn't give up... He's come too far, lost too much. Looking before he ran, he stormed forth. There was a place he needed to be, a place that needed him just as much as he needed it. He chased down the sun, hoping to see his home once again.

Elsewhere, there was urgent business to attend to. But not upon this plane, but upon the realm of the Solasúians. The miles and miles of blue grass beyond the gates of the empty capital swayed in a gentle wind, rivers of golden, glistering water calmly ran. It was a night in the world known as Solasúila, the sky was a dark blueish-purple with several spots randomly being pink or even green.

More stars than one could count graced the sky, twinkling a bright and beautiful shine. Two blue-colored moons cast out light, one was small and to the north, the other was normal sized and to the south. This ethereal landscape was alive, white-feathered birds were a common sight. They possessed three legs, the tips of each of their feathers was black. Its head was very similar to the head of an ibis, but its size was small and to that of the average bird.

Beside one of the millions of glowing, crystallized root-like trees, one such bird laid dead. Another of its kind was upon that tree, its entirely black eyes gazed down upon the carcass. Seeing the unfortunate sight, the bird raised its head up into the air. Opening up its beak, it began to let out a loud, almost pained sounding caw.

It was a situation Soter felt as though he could relate to, a strong emotion tugging at his heart. The pain he felt reflected upon his eyes, sorrowful as though he had a piece of him ripped out. The cry from the bird which mourned its fellow kinsmen echoed throughout the hollow night, Soter himself so full of pain that truly he felt as though he were screaming on the inside.

Inside what would be the Solasúian throne room, Soter stood. The twin moons cast blue light into the otherwise black room through a large gaping hole in the ceiling, its remnants laid upon the floor. At the far left side of the throne chair, he was all the way next to the back-most wall. He faced a part of the wall that wore a particular symbol on it: a cross with a triangle in the center of it.

He planted his hand upon the symbol, pressing it hard against the adamas wall. Suddenly, the symbol lit up with a quick burst of light. That light then pulsed throughout a part of the wall, revealing hexagon shapes all throughout. The part of the wall was just in front of Soter, its size just enough to be considered a door.

The small, door-size part then began to pull into the floor, revealing that long, hexagon-tiled floor that pulsed with energy. Hearing and feeling that strange, humming energy, Soter stepped forward. He walked down that long hallway, the door he entered through pushed upwards as he left its presence. The moonlight grew smaller, draining in strength with the seconds that passed.

The hallway throbbed like a heart with energy, the steps he took caused a pulse of energy to push across the entire floor. He walked down this familiar place, feeling the presence of a strong power grow and grow with every second. It felt like time had quickly sunk like sand in an hourglass, yet it felt as though there was a clot of sand between the two bulbs of the hourglass. Time moved with swiftness, yet felt frozen and stuck.

Finally, the titan made it down the long, unforgiving hallway. There, he stood in an threshold a fantastic, almost breathtaking strength. The bright, multi-colored light that breathed its life all across the room beating in front of him, he had to be brought down to his knees. He stood in this hexagon-shaped room which pulsated with power.

He bowed, lowering his head to the almighty light at the center of it all, the room, the throbbing energy, everything. "My lords," humbly addressed the messenger.

"Ah... Soter," returned the a thousand tongued being. "What news?"

"I have failed you," he regretfully informed, carrying with him a heavy heart. "They learned about Uriel, found him and went after him. I could not protect him..."

"We bring you back to life, give you with one simple task, and you cannot complete it!?" the voices angrily shouted at Soter. "You trouble us far more than you are worth..."

"I am truly sorry, my lords," the messenger told them. "I will accept death if you think it an appropriate punishment."

"Enough of your petty groveling and apologies," the glowing light demanded, ire storming in each of their voices. "...Though a major hindrance, it comes not with the inability to recuperate."

A moment of silence was born, as the being taking the form of a large orb of bright light left pondered in deep thought. Soter quietly stood on his knees, his head hanging low and his face to the ground. He knew he was not worthy of gazing upon the glorious being that enveloped the room, not after his failure.

"Soter," the voices then finally spoke after about a minute of thoughtful silence. "What was Uriel doing after the host family died?"

"He joined and fought with a rebellion," Soter answered without hesitation. "They called themselves "The Resistance," a group scattered throughout the Solasúian mainlands in Gielinor. They comprise primarily of humans who oppose the Solasúian government, a regime which forces them into slavery."

The light sounded intrigued by this, letting out a "hmm," as a sign. "Bring this Resistance to us," the voice then ordered. "We wish to commune with them."

"Your will is my command, my lords," the messenger then acknowledged without the slightest restraint.

"Begone," the voices then growled, still quite angered by their servant's failure. The messenger then just stood up upon his feet, turning away from the light. He then began to walk away from the light, without word. He knew that he couldn't fail them anymore, this was his second and only chance at redemption.

A few days would pass before he would set foot upon his home again, that familiar cobblestone pathway. The young leader stared upon the city of Lumbridge, which had almost regained its previous form. It was looking perhaps even better than the last time, revealing that they were only made better, stronger by the attack.

Lumbridge's people were working together almost harmoniously, helping out each other through this most difficult situation. But thanks to the tight, integrated support of the community and its army, the city was looking just like itself again. It brought a smile to Raphael's face, to see their beloved town back to its former glory.

Children ran around, playing a variety of games with each other. They laughed, resurrecting any person who was dead alive. The sounds of construction, the pounding of hammers and shouts of direction, overwhelming the cheerful sounds of children at play, but such sounds were known all throughout the city. The entire city was being reborn, being made stronger.

Some of the citizens that he passed quickly waved at him, or even bowed their heads. "Hello, Raphael!" they all would say. "Welcome back!" Raphael took a leisurely stroll from the gates into Lumbridge, his reflection cast off into the River Lum. He was joyous to see all that had been done since that invasion upon this vibrant city, its loud and wide response.

A quick riposte, a counter move to the usual gloom that so very deeply infected this land. As his ears heard all the many sounds of the town, his mind couldn't help but to shake with fright and worry. To what was he to learn as he made his return to this place? He could only strike at a guess, only wonder of the unimaginable things upon Audley's mind.

Just thinking about it made his skin crawl, his heart sink, and his pace quicken. His causal, calm stroll transformed into a heavy, worried haste. With angst, he made his way passed the tall gates surrounding the castle. He found himself in the courtyard before the castle of Lumbridge, the two fountains to his sides, and the long cobblestone path out in front of him.

Raphael drew closer and closer to the stairs that led up to the double doors into the castle, until they pushed open. Behind their wooden frame, the dark-robed young man was revealed to Raphael. Daevarro was relieved to see Raphael finally back from his trip, jolting down the stairs to stand before him. "Welcome back," the young man greeted.

"Has anything happened while I was gone?" the silver-haired leader bolted out with a question.

"...Well, I—" Daevarro went on, then sighing. "—I think it would be best you came to see for yourself."

"Is Audley here?" he then asked in a more calm fashion.

Daevarro paused, raising an eyebrow. He was in question, surprised by Raphael's knowing of this. "Yes," the young man confirmed. "...But how did you—?"

"—Where is he?" Raphael then quickly questioned, interrupting him.

"Medical room," he then answered Raphael, causing the young leader to quickly rushed passed Daevarro. The dark-robed young man then turned back the way he came, following just behind Raphael. His body turned to the right, barreling down towards the right side of the castle. He pushed open a set of familiar doors, finding himself in a light gray stone brink room with smooth stone floors.

Raphael threw himself quickly into the room, shuffling his eyes all over the place to find Audley. He then locked onto him, the man sitting upon the cotton bed. Hearing the door open and close, the nurse Rada turned her attention to its source. She saw the appearances of both young men: Daevarro and Raphael.

Though she was tending to Audley, she quickly made her way over to the two. Her old, wrinkled face pulled up with a smile, happy to see Raphael once more. "Welcome back, dear," she greeted him in a whisper.

Because of the quiet of the room, Raphael and Daevarro were both able to clearly hear some strange mumbling coming from Audley's way. He was just sitting there, hiding his face with his hands clenching tightly onto his head. He had bandage wrap around his forehead, covering most of the top of his head. Raphael then turned to Rada, concerned. "How is he?" he asked.

"Outside of the minor laceration to his forehead, he's healthy physically," Rada informed him. "But mentally... He's been here for at least a day, and he hasn't move at all since."

"I understand," he acknowledged. "Would it be all right if I asked him a few questions? It's urgent."

"Just don't ask him too many," she informed the young leader.

Raphael shook his head. "Thank you," he politely returned, stepping away from Rada. He then slowly walked over to Audley, hearing his whispers grow louder. "Hey, Audley... It's me, Raphael. Do you remember me?"

Audley pulled his head up, his eyes gazed upon the young leader. He appeared with a five o'clock shadow, looking like he had been through a lot. "...R-R-Raphael?" the knight stuttered, he then paused, breathless and still. He quickly began shaking his head. "Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

His hands then fell back down on top of his head, pointing his face towards the floor. He let out a fearful whimper, terrified by a thought. Raphael then swiftly rushed over, standing in front of Audley. He then dropped down to his knees, concerned over the well being of his ally. "What's wrong, Audley?" Raphael asked. "Audley!"

"So many people," Audley mumbled, Raphael was able to hear the chatter of his teeth due to the fright this man was experiencing. "S-so many..."

"Audley," Raphael tried once more.

"So many... p-people," Audley repeated himself. "S-so many..."

"Audley, can you tell me what happened?"

"What... happened?" he returned, able to hear the pause in his teeth chattering and his breath. "T-they... k-killed us all, killed all my friends, killed a-a-all m-my f-family. There were... so many... so many people... so many p-people... s-so m-many pe-pe-people..."

"So many people where!?" Raphael demanded clarification.

"Give him a minute," Rada advised, walking over to the two. "He's been through a lot, and has probably seen more than a man should. Let him collect his thoughts and explain."

"O-on... the g-ground," his weak, sheepish voice spoke. "Th-they were... so many... Tens of thousands... all of us... Their blood... everywhere! Th-the screams... I can still hear them!"

A thought then suddenly shot out in his head, causing him to become frantic. His head quickly pulled up, his watery eyes gazed widely upon Raphael. His hands grabbed onto Raphael's collar. "She said she's going to make Lumbridge look like it!" he very quickly stated, his voice sounded as though he were crying hysterically. He began shaking the young leader. "Please, please, PLEASE! I beg of you, Raphael, d-don't make me go through it again! I don't want to hear them again! I don't want to hear them again! Please, I beg of you! I don't want to hear the children—...!"

Raphael latched his right hand onto Audley's left hand, getting him to stop and adding a sense of comfort. "—That's never going to happen, okay?" the young leader assured him, calming Audley somewhat. "You believe me, don't you?"

Audley then shook his head, confirming his belief in the young leader's words. Audley's grip loosened on Raphael's collar, drawing him back. "All right," Raphael continued. "Who said that they're going make Lumbridge look like Falador?"

"E-Elena," he answered, then he very rapidly got quite angry. "That wretch! She killed my friends, my family! She betrayed us!"

Raphael was left in disbelief, would she seriously say something like that? Raphael then turned backwards, looking over at Daevarro. The dark-robed young man possessed the same face as Raphael: speechless, confused, under question. They didn't know what to make of this information, not knowing if it is something they could even believe.

"...I'M GOING TO KILL HER!" Audley's voice indignantly roared, bolting off of the bed. This prompted Rada to grab hold of Audley and Raphael to turn his head and focus back on Audley.

Raphael wrapped his arms around Audley to restrain his movement. "That'll come in due time," said Raphael, sitting Audley back down. "So, just relax and bear with us, okay?"

Rada turned to Raphael. "I think that's enough for today," she believed. "Leave the rest of your questions for later, Audley needs to rest."

Raphael shook his head. "All right," Raphael understood, turning away from Rada and Audley. He left their space, leaving Rada to tend to Audley. Raphael walked over to Daevarro, both of which still can't believe the things they were told. To think she could request something so vicious, so cruel, is a thought without any sort of answer.

Raphael stood in front of Daevarro, close enough so that the two may exchange whispers. "I didn't anticipate this," Daevarro commented. "I had never thought..."

"Neither would I," Raphael concurred, then the young leader sighed. "Regardless of the new information given to us, she... is our enemy, a member of royalty. That means, ultimately..."

"Don't say it, please," pleaded the dark-robed young man, his eyes shifting away. A couple of moments passed between the two, not a word was spoken. Daevarro's eyes then scroll back to Raphael. "Our fight is for the betterment of the world, right?"

"...That's what I've been told," he responded. ""The prospect of a world where all of us; human, god, and everything else, live together in harmony, without racism, hatred, segregation, or discrimination." That was my master's dream, the one thing he wanted. But I'm sure many here have a warped view of it, that in which the humans rule and the gods are those that are made to suffer."

"We need a world like your master's dream," Daevarro believed. "A world where only one side wins is... unfair, wrong. Giving them what they give to us isn't right, and by doing so would only make us just as corrupt as them. I want a world like your master's dream: a world where everyone is an equal!"

Raphael shook his head. 'Then let's get it," he said, believing in Daevarro's resolve.

Daevarro shook his head. "Yeah," he agreed with confidence. The glint of conviction sparkled there like a small fire upon a candle during a windy night: they may flick and shrink, but they would never fade away. Knowing that there was much work to be done, the two headed their separate ways to deal with the many problems.

Daevarro headed off to assist in any way he could with the city's process of rebuilding, be it with the city's buildings or with its people. He did what he could, helping out the best way he could. Raphael, on the other hand, had serious business to attend to. He was still neck-deep in thoughts concerning all the many things he had been told during these last few days.
