Chapter XII

“Have you made your decision?”

“Yes I have. I will come with you.”

“Then prepare yourself.” The hooded figure cast a powerful spell, causing Gregory to get dizzy and lose his sight temporarily. When he regained his visibility, he was in a snowy area, and standing on a strange stone platform with symbols on it.

All around him were warriors wearing elite black armour, and they eyed him suspiciously as he walked past.
*Do not fear the knights, they will not harm you unless you attack them. Follow me. This area is too exposed for me to tell you my plans.” The hooded figure led Gregory to the far north part of the icy camp, and revealed a trapdoor hidden underneath a crate. They climbed down, and Gregory saw a stone hall with evil-looking symbols and huge gargoyle statues all around. With an increasing sense of foreboding, he asked,

“Are you sure that you have my best interests in mind? I want to help the world against evil, and this place looks evil to me.”

“All will be explained soon my friend. There is much more afoot then you know of, and everything in the world is... backward. The dark figure led him through the echoing hall and to a steel door. It had no handle, and was covered in symbols similar to those all over the rest of this dark fortress. The figure cast some kind of spell at the door, which opened it, an ushered him in. They both took a seat, and the dark figure asked,
“So, do you have any questions?”

“You said that the world is backward... what did you mean?”

“Well... there is a lot to explain. You see, there are many gods in the land of Runescape, and I should start by giving you knowledge on most of them. First, there are the three most well known gods. Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak. Guthix is the god of balance, Zamorak the god of good, and Saradomin the god of evil. However, the world has it backwards. You see, all of Runescape thinks that Saradomin is good, and they worship him because they think he is good. This gives him great power, and he is gradually changing his worshipers to become evil, although their original intentions are good. Understand?”

“I guess that makes sense...*

*It is very hard to understand. Zamorak is the god of good, and he seems evil, just like Saradomin is evil and seems good. Armadyl is also evil, although he tries to seem neutral and has some seemingly-good traits. Bandos... well Bandos is somewhat of a dead god right now, and is attempting is come back. He is everybody’s enemy. Zaros is the god of chaos. He was my master at first because I thought Zaros was good, but I learned otherwise when Zamorak overthrew Zaros. So now, my goal is to destroy Saradomin’s power and achieve it myself, for then I will be able to help Zamorak in his war.

“So, what are we going to do?”

“I need you to go and destroy altars of Saradomin. It is likely that the warriors of Saradomin will come to attack you, but you are powerful enough to not let that harm you.”

“How will this increase the power of Zamorak?”

“Well, Saradomin gets power through the altars. Whenever someone prays at one of the altars, it increases his power. If an altar is destroyed, it gives a good deal of the power put into it to the destroyer, or the person the destroyer sends the power to.”

“I see. So I destroy the altars, and it gives me more power?”

“No. You see, there is a reason I cannot do this myself. I am already so powerful, that the great powers of Saradomin and Armadyl can feel me all the time. They can sense where I am, and if I come into their major cities, they will raise up all their forces and destroy me. I need you to go, and destroy the altars in MY name, otherwise you will also become powerful enough for them to feel your presence. Understand?”

“Oh! I see now. So I will destroy them in your name or Zamorak’s name, so then I don’t get the power and become vulnerable.”

“Don’t do it in Zamorak’s name. Don’t. I need the power right now, and if you do it in his name, it will not benefit our side as much as it will in my name.

Understand?”

“Very well. And what is your name?”

“Well... I did*’t really want to reveal my name quite yet... but it suppose it is necessary. My name is... Lucien.

A few(not many at all) errors, but definitely the type of thing that would make me say ME WNAT MOAR NAOW!
