I hate it when I double post...

my fremmenik name is taltin as well. I remember changing it like 5 times before getting one I liked (all the other ones he gave sounded weird.)

I'm posting the next chapter now. (I better get writing again, almost out of buffer space :P )

Chapter XXXI

An underground fortress... underground... Gregory was figuring a mountain would do well, but he wasn’t sure... Yes! He would dig far, far, beneath the surface of the earth under a mountain, then set up the portals. With the portals set up, he would be able to easily fill in the hole again and still have access.

Gregory was at White Wolf Mountain, looking for a good place where his demonic workers would be able to dig. Then it struck him. He had earth powers! It would not be difficult at all to...

Gregory walked to the east side of the mountain, and willed for the earth to come up, with his powers, he made a vertical tunnel going straight down, five hundred feet below the surface of the earth. The tunnel was only about two feet square. All the soil coming from this was thrown aside for when he would want it back. At the bottom of this hole, he mentally pictured a tunnel going west, underneath the mountain, and then opening up into a huge gap in the earth, seventy feet tall, one hundred twenty feet wide, and eighty feet deep. (Essentially this is a 70’ by 120’ by 80’ space for building a facility, 500’ below ground level.) His mental picture happened exactly as he imagined it. The soil came rocketing out of the hole with amazing speed, and as soon as it was out, he prepared to go down.

First, he teleported to the Grand Exchange in Varrock, buying about ten thousand steel bars. After doing this, he teleported to the digsite. He jumped into the hole, using his wind powers to slow his fall. When he arrived at the bottom, he summoned a fire titan to give some light, then he cast a teleportation spell so that he could teleport there at will.

Holding the notes for the bars, he went to the east bank in Varrock. When he arrived, there were three bankers in service. He promptly closed the doors to the bank, putting out the closed sign, then told the bankers he had something very big he needed to do, and would not accept opposition. He handed over the notes, and the bankers began taking out the building materials which he had asked for.

What amazed them is what he did next. He summoned a demon, and gave it one hundred steel bars, then teleported it to the underground hole. Summoning another demon, he did that same, and so on. After summoning about twenty demons to do this, he ordered the bankers to constantly give the demons the bars, and that he would continue sending demons there. Gregory then teleported to the digsite. The entire time, he continued teleporting the demons back and forth, between the digsite and the bank, constantly getting a supply of bars. Then the real work began. Gregory used his powers of superheating as he never had before, melting the bars he had bought, and then using his powers to pick up the molten steel and hold it in place until it became solid.

After about two hours of this, the bankers had finally given the last of the bars, and he had melted it all. He was holding all of the molten steel in place, forming three floors, with about ten rooms in each floor, except for the middle floor, which was one big room. There were pillars as well. After holding this in place for twenty minutes, and shooting water at it to cool it faster, it was cool enough for him to let go.

Upon teleporting back to the bank, he found three petrified bankers standing there with all twenty demons staring at them, just as Gregory had stationed them. He did*’t want the bankers to escape. Banishing all the demons, he hypnotized the minds of all the bankers, erasing their memories. When this was done, he teleported back to the digsite, and filled the five hundred foot hole with earth. Although he wondered if anyone had seen the hole and speculated on what it was, it did*’t really matter anyway.

“Hey Greg! What is up? Have you found a good place where we can live?”

“I have found it, and I have built it! You should go get everyone who is joining us John, and then I’ll teleport us all there. It is very deep underground, and the only way to get to it is by teleportation.”

“All right! Let’s get the group together.”

“Ok all! You ready to get going?” asked Gregory.

“Yes we are,” answered John. “We are all set, and ready for training.”

“Very good.” Gregory teleported them all to the base, and walked forward. “This is our home for now. There are materials for you to make it more comfortable, as it is all steel at the moment, so go ahead and set up the cloths and I’ll go to buy some other materials for building more comfortable furniture. Eric, you are a carpenter, right?”

“Yes I am.”

“What do you need to make some comfortable sofas, chairs, and tables.”

“Well... let me see... To fill up this place, I’ll need about 150 planks of any type, 500 nails of any type, and 300 bolts of cloth.”

“Very good. I’ll be back soon.”

Gregory teleported to the Grand Exchange, and bought the aforementioned materials, as well as 200 marble blocks. In addition, he bought several thousand runes of every type for his new apprentices to train with. Teleporting back, he gave the materials needed to Eric, and the others helped him. Gregory himself used the marble blocks and fused them together to build fifty portals on the middle floor. While everyone was busily working, Saradomin suddenly appeared.

“Hello Gregory. I see you have collected your assistants. I am very pleased.”

Seeing the look of absolute astonishment, awe, and alarm in the faces of all his friends, Gregory introduced them. “Saradomin, this is Eric, Julia, Martin, Sarah, John, Lia, Sylvia, Robert, Mark, Victoria, Bob, Kevin, Amanda, Mathew, David, Pat, Dan, and Walter.”

“Very nice to meet you all, and for our cause I am going to imbue you all with the powers you will need to learn magic very quickly. I need to talk to Gregory, so do not mind my presence and continue working.” The group slowly, and reluctantly dispersed, going back to their occupations.

“Gregory, I have something I have meant to speak to you about. You need to learn how to use a weapon. A sword. Magic is very effective in weapons such as that if you use it properly. When you think about it, magic has to break through the flesh of the victim before it can truly damage, and that spends some of the force of it. If you charge a powerful sword with your magic, and then slice the weapon into the flesh of your adversary, it is ten times as deadly, because the magic can flow straight into the unprotected areas of the enemy’s body.”

“Good. When you become particularly strong and able, I will give you two of my godswords to wield, and then you will be absolutely invincible to all but the most powerful.”

“One more thing I should speak about. Espionage. Lucien is obtaining more recruits every day all over Runescape, simply by his spies mixing with the populace, and spreading propaganda to make people think he is favorable. How should I root them out?”

“You should speak to Osman in Al Kharid. He may be able to help you. I must go now, but I will be back soon. Good luck.”
