"We welcome all with a purpose of peace, Fixszorx," Soul replied in her slow, surprisingly soft, sighing voice. "If you are such, you may become part of our clan, though we live a simple existence. You may come to call your home, if you truly wish it such. However, you may wish to seek out a home elsewhere, child of the earth, for our lifestyle may not best suit your needs and desires. Make your decision on thought rather than fear, and know that, if you seek a home elsewhere, we will remain open to you, so you may search without worry of having no place to turn back to."
"The future is branched, and the prophesy only exists in some branches," Soul replied. "In one branch, Lux dies by the tainted one, but in another the tainted one never even encounters Lux. Were the taint to spread to you... Not even Nihil knows what would happen, for the Abyss is never constant. Those it does not destroy it may warp in any possible way regardless of if the Void also taints them, for taint by the void is a way in which the Abyss may warp. Your previous taint would increase the chance of the taint destroying you... but the chance of being warped in any way in and beyond imagination exists."
<Well... I guess... but I don't know how to purely fly for enjoyment.>
<True, true... and now you've poked holes into my argument to the extent that I don't have a point left to argue.
"I have no desire to see you slain, traveler," Soul answered, blinking slowly. She seemed completely unaffected by Matthew's insulting words, her tone remaining as neutral as it always seemed to be. "My only desire is for my children to live in peace and happiness."
