"You go ahead and get some rest. I will be exploring a bit and taking a few notes while you sleep since I cannot go to Elune from here. Rest well my friends and let us hope morning brings us good fortune as far as the weather." said Rhen as he sat down against a wall and started to write things down in his notebook as well as examining the scales he had collected.
~I wish it was possible for my race to sleep. Then these nights would not seem so long and lonely to me....~ thought Rhen as he worked in silence.

<Hm... This is quite problematic. Maybe we do seemingly kill him again, and then he simply returns again. Are we to assume he truly cannot die? Or does he just somehow evade every deathblow we throw at him? Only thing I know for certain is he's not going to be easy to deal with. If he were, I doubt we'd be having this conversation.>
The entrances to the citadel were all inside of various caverns, made slightly obvious by the carved stone of the citadel's passageways. There would be no door blocking the way inside, though it was entirely possible all of the caverns were buried beneath snow by now.
Forlirn nodded lightly and quietly entered a slightly sloping passageway, apparently heading deeper into the citadel. Frilarth followed moments afterward, seeming much more quiet than was usual for the often chatty dragon.

<I don't know what I am supposed to think anymore in regards to Thlorian. Nothing about him makes a shred of sense. Either he somehow is capible of returning from the dead or he can somehow survive a point-blank shot to the head and recover within a few days. Neither of those ideas make any sense. It just can't be easy eh? Just once i'd love to encounter a foe I could just shoot in the head and be done with.>
Matt followed Forlirn down the tunnel. As he was walking, he heard the faint echo of what sounded like a scream. "Did you guys hear that? I could have sworn that I heard someone screaming..." He said.

<Well then, hopefully the next foe will be some ordinary human member of the Seekers. Certainly would be nice to to kill an enemy and not have him get up again. Or use what looks a lot like magic in the middle of Neuva. Though then there's always the likelihood that we run into an ambush, since that's how the human Seekers seem to operate...>
Forlirn blinked and gave a light shake of his large head.
"I did not hear anything. Though I admittedly wasn't listening closely. This place brings back many memories to my mind..."

<Is it wrong for me to say that would be nice? I mean, we've been fighting difficult enemies since we met. Is it so much to ask for a simple fight? I think even a seeker ambush would be easier then fighting Thlorian. I doubt that will happen in the ruins though. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if what is in there makes fighting Thlorian feel like a cakewalk.>
Matt nodded. "Hmm, I suppose it is possible I was just hearing things. In a place like this, I am sure your ears must play tricks on you. Anyway, where abouts are we headed?" Matt asked.

<It might be, but I guess that just means we might both be wrong. Though after what we've faced, I don't think it's unfair for us to want an easy battle. But as for the ruins... what if our next fight with Thlorian is in the ruins? Would it still be a walk crafted of cake?>
"I was planning on heading to one of the sleeping chambers," Forlirn replied, his frilled tail slowly flicking back and forth. "They're made to be slept in, after all. Though I suppose to a human they won't seem any different than any other chamber, since the 'bedding' is made from stone."
Caelidorus quietly eyed Forlirn and Matthew as they proceeded down a passageway before glancing to Rhen, a somewhat thoughtful expression on his face. "I think I may spend a bit of time looking around before I join them. The architecture of this place reminds me of that of my home..."

<I suppose you are correct about it not being unfair for us to want an easy battle. We've been through hell so far and it is likely going to continue. And I suppose that if we were to face Thlorian in the ruins, it would not be such a cakewalk, or walk made of cake as you put it. After all, in the ruins the fight will mostly turn into a battle of wits as you have to try to outsmart one another. That's my opinion anyway.>
"I see. I don't know how you dragons can handle sleeping on cold hard stone. I find the concept to be unbearable myself. Anyway, do you think it is possible that other members of your clan survived? I mean, I find it hard to believe that literally everyone may have died when the true ones attacked." Matt said.
"Your choice Caelidorus. I myself think I will try to turn in so that I can conserve some energy for tomorrow. We will likely need it." Matt replied.

"I could care less what you do. For I know that whatever it is, it will not help time go by faster for me this night. Here I cannot go to Elune and study my own mutation so I am forced to remain here and perform visual studies on my samples I have collected and work on a few other notes. Which frankly.........although it needs to be done......I would rather do something else and looking over past notes and making adjustments as well as performing other research is boring and I will be spending most of my night sitting here waiting for morning. If you wish to look around I cannot do anything to stop a dragon. Come to think of it I now know why it is exiles tend to fall into insanity..........they have no one to talk with or discuss research with during their nights they spend awake since we cannot sleep. And with no other voice aside from their own to listen to......they go insane. Although I have everyone for conversation during the daytime hours.........I fear that I am slowly slipping into insanity during my nights by myself. I am hanging on the edge of the line of insanity. The only thing keeping me from falling into the pit is spending time with you all during the day. Sometimes I wish I could sleep like the rest of you. But it will never happen with my kind." said Rhen, looking up from his journal.

<I personally wonder what could be in these ruins... The way I imagine it, they're some kind of ancient, untouched city of a civilization dead for ages. Could be filled with old artifacts and the like that have been lost to time... And it would make sense for them to have something to combat the True Ones if the civilization had something to do with them. Can't really control something you can't kill, after all...>
"I've never minded it, so I suppose it's just a dragon thing," Forlirn said with a yawn, seeming to be tired. "As for other survivors... Well, I'd say no, but Frilarth proves otherwise. So I suppose it is possible that there are others... though I doubt there are many others."
Caelidorus nodded slightly at Rhen's words, seeming to be thinking about something.
"...Perhaps it would be advantageous for exiles to seek each other before insanity sets in, then. If neither can sleep, then you would both be able to converse at all times of the day..."

<I am curious to see what we are dealing with as well. I do not recall of any civilizations existing this far north in known history so it will be interesting to see what sort of documents they left about themselves or how advanced they were. I don't know about them having some way to control the true ones though. How do we know that it was not the other way around or that they were allied with one another? It's impossible to say what we will find until we get there though. I know we only have to wait till tomorrow but it does seem to be pretty far away.>
"Did you try searching for any survivors Forlirn? I know it's basically impossible for you to find them now considering how widespread they are now but I can't believe you wouldn't have at least tried at some point." Matt said.
