"It's a possibility, though I doubt you could do so fast or easily," Forlirn replied. "Proteins only function properly in incredibly precise environments in which factors beyond temperature play pivotal roles. Successfully incorporating them into an object would require an object roughly as complex as a living organism..."
<Possibly... But I'm really not entirely sure...>
<How should I know what it means? I think it's quite clear I'm not a scientist either. It sounds like a word that means your blood is cold. And my blood definitely isn't cold.>
Frilarth did a light spin in the air, apparently believing that to be a sufficient response.

"True. It may take me another 1000 years to get it just right. But seeing as I live forever anyway.....I have plenty of time. I want to start work now but I do not have the tools to do so. But as said before I have more than enough time." said Rhen as he pulled his coat and cloak tighter around him.

<Well don't go by what I say. I am looking at this having never seen your clan and having little idea as to how it works. Maybe it is for the best. Anyway, what do you think we will find in these ruins? Could there really be anything that could help us? My fear is that it could be nothing more then a trap.>
<Doesn't it have something to do with body heat? I'd ask Forlirn, but I doubt he is in the mood to talk to me. Science, or at least magic, seems to be his strongpoint.>

"True, true, that's always a benefit of biological immortality..." Forlirn said, yawning lightly. "Although to be honest, I've always had difficulty seeing the appeal to living forever. I suppose it's beyond my comprehension..."
<I really don't know, but I don't look forward to it. I remember what happened last time I was exposed to that aura... I fear what may happen if it fills the ruins. I have a feeling it will work against our minds every second it can... I simply hope it doesn't result in us being the deaths of each other, if you know what I mean.>
<I really have no idea... and I can't say I know how Forlirn would act toward you, though I wouldn't be surprised if he's still fuming. He has always struck me as the sort that can hold a grudge...>

<I'm guessing you mean that the aura will drive us crazy and force us into killing one another. Do you really think it could do that? I've felt this too, and I had no thoughts of killing you or anyone else. It is a terrible feeling, but can it really drive us insane?>
<I get that feeling as well. Forlirn held a grudge against his own brother for most of his life. Remember when he met Frilarth? He hated him at first. I could see him still hating me for what I said twenty or even thirty years from now.>

<I really don't know. What I do know is we can't act as our completely true selves with it around... and while we have felt it before, we've never felt it for an incredibly long period of time. It definitely plays with your mind... how much though I do not know, but I'm not discounting anything.>
<I always wonder how some can hold such grudges... I can understand long-term anger, but for centuries... I can not fathom that...>
"I'm always a bit tired," Forlirn replied. "In my lineage, I'm around the age where one is considered old, as this is the time when all the sorts of ailments and the like associated with old age begin to appear. Perpetual tiredness happens to be one of those, so it's to be expected."

<I wonder if someone with enough willpower could resist it's influence. I don't want to kill you or even attempt to harm you in any way. So what I wonder is if I wanted that enough, could I, or anyone else for that matter, resist the aura?>
<I can understand it to an extent. Frilarth did basically play a huge role in the death of Forlirn's entire clan. That is huge, and would take a long time to forgive. If you had a brother, and his actions somehow destroyed the entire tempest clan, would you be able to forgive him?>

((Nothing much; it's been mostly progression in conversations. Part of a post of mine on the previous page was directed at your character, however.))
<Well, I'd guess it's possible, though I don't exactly know. Willpower is quite a strong force, so I doubt anything could defeat it in every circumstance.>
<That's not really an entirely fair comparison, but I really doubt I could. In fact, I would probably do all I could to slay him to avenge the clan.>
Soul laid her massive head down after the group had flown off.
