Chapter 8, The Last Stand of the Void Knights

A Deep booming voice above the clouds shouted out at the gnome encampment that was at the outskirts of Varrock "Fear you gnomes and tremble for i am Guthix the creater of Gielnor and bringer of balance. You have been warring against your fellow mortals, burning their cities looting their stores, attacking their innocent civilans, you are leaving none in your wake. I tell you now you shall assult the Great City of Varrock the last great human stronghold in this land, and it shall take you three attempts to break over its walls, heed my warning that if you attempt to take Varrock the thrid attempt at victory will be succesful but at a terrible price" Then the voice ended.

The gnomes ignoring this warning led their army to Varrock. The soldiers, archers, calvary(terrorbird mounted troopers), and their supporting air force all assembled in their formations for the assult on varrocks great walls. They expected Arrav's great city to be in their hands by nightfall, thinking the voice was a mere trick of their human foes. The gnomes charge at the walls, under heavy fire from the human defenders, their seige towers and ladders were nearly at the walls, when all of a sudden a cry rang out. A group of Void Night Mages teleported into the temporary glider airport set up south of varrock, and burned it to the ground, burning up half of the gliders there, forutantely for the gnomes half of their air force for the invasion was already in the air. The Mages then teleported away and teleported right into the genter of the gnomic ranks razing hell, untill Zooknock led an elite force of wizards out into the fray to finish off the last of these void knight interlopers, the battle between them raged on for hours, mostly because the void knights refused to meet the gnome mages in battle whenever confrotned they teleported to another section of the gnome lines to raze hell, eventually they were cornered and killed.

Chapter 9, The Second Battle of Varrock

As Guthix had forewarned the gnomes had suffered heavy losses in their first assult, but still they tried a second time, assembling their infantry, archers, cavalry, mages, and what remained of their invasion air force for a second assult. They were smarter this time making sure atleast half of their air force was up at any one given time, so as to prevent the disasters of the previous day. This time the citizens of Varrock were awakened with an intnentse early morning bombardment by the gnome air force, with no mages to shoot them down the varrockian archers shoot desperately into the air only shooting down three of the thirty six bombers that had swooped down in over the city to drop their payloads. Intenste fires sprung up all over the place throughout the city, firefighting crews were quick to respond, however much of the residental distric was burned down.

The Pheonix gang and Black Arm Gang aggreed to set aside their differneces for the duration of the assult, and herded much of the civilans into their hideouts to save them from the fires. Part of this cooperation was the inseration of sabetours sneaking through the night onto the plains outside the eastern and southern sections of the city(the sections being assulted by the gnomes) and planted many spikes hiden in the high grass and fortified dark wizard's cicle, which the dark wizards had aggreed to make a final stand in. As soon as the gnomes got close enough all hell broke loose. The spikes were slaughtering the calvary and infantry, and giant covered holes were pulling down the siege towers that had mistakenly rolled over them. By the end of the day the losses were horrific, 47 siege towers, 2,457 infantry lost at the dark wizards circle alone, another 2,000 lost to the spikes, with 500 calvary lost to the spikes as well. But this was the second assult, and it had cost the gnomes greatly, but if Guthix was right, the third would work and Varrock would be gone.

Chapter 10, Varrock's Fall

After hearing and seeing the terrible losses, Zooknock decided he would lead this invasion, first he and his mages formed a giant magical bubble of protection around themselves, walking over all the traps so as to expose them but not be harmed themselves. Nothing stood before the walls of Varrock now, so the gnomes marched on in the same order they had been in the last two battles. Once the first seige towers and ladders reached the walls, all the archers fell back to the castle, to defend to the death those walls. Now it was the knights turn to do their part, they fought valiantly killing gnome after gnome, but there were to many of the enemy and to few of them. Zooknock walked up to the gate, muttered a spell and blew open the gate in a blaze of fire, now the calvary charged in looting the city as they went.

Meanwhile King Roland watched from his castle as the maddness and murder raged on in his city. "These gnomes fight like demons, suredly we shall not win but we must take as many with us as possible.Get me my horse and prepare the last of the nights we are going to charge into the fray, killing as we go untill we ourselves are killed".

So the king and all the knights assembled and chraged into the great host of gnomes, slaughtering the infantry and archers as they went, and mowing down the mages, meeting little oppostion once they reached the terrorbird troopers, they kept going driving back the gnomes, as the city rallied for one last fight alongside it's king. But then something terrible happened. The knights were nearing the gate, they had almost driven out the invaders, when all of a sudden the tortieses appeared, and in the lead of them was Zooknock on top of his armored tortise."You are mine King Roland, you have put up a valiant fight killing many of my soldiers but now you must die."Screamed Zooknock, and with that he sent a blade of magical fire right through the king cutting him in half. Thus was the fall of Varrock.

Chapter 11, The Godly Confrence

While the battle was raging on the ground bewteen the gnomes and their allies and the humans and their's, there was debate amongst the gods over who should be supported. Naturally Zamrock wanted to support the gnomes because they were winning and causing so much destruction, and Saradomin favored the humans because many of them were his followers, and he like the other gods knew the truth of King Borelin's death. Guthix bringer of balance, was growing weaker by the day do to the fact that his life force was tied to balanace, and now that thousands of soldiers and civilans were dying almost daily, he was going steadily weaker. The three had long ago aggred that they shouldnt interefere any more then offering support, so they all cast a spell that protected both sides from their direct involvement, while it didnt stop their disciples from getting involved, it did limit them to offering only blessings, and none dared break it for if it was broken all three would die.
One day Guthix passed away his last words were " I shall return when order is restored". "Hmph i like it better with him gone" said Zamrock. "These gnomes must stop soon or all shall be lost, i fear that if this war is won by the gnomes it may result in another god war, and i dont know if i can win this one" said Saradomin "Well i hope it does end this way becasue then I, Zamrock shall be ruler of all of Gilenor.""your a horrible person, do you know that" "yes, and i stopped caring a while ago, i suggest you do the same"
Meanwhile down on Gilenor, Zooknock announced to his troops " be hold my brave warriors, this campagin is won, now you may rest, and rest well for soon we shall march to the west to wipe out any human infestion there." and at these words a cheer rang out throughout the camp.
With the gods in a stalemate the war was now to be decided by mortals, by the humans and the gnomes the two dominant races in Gilenor. But which way will it turn out?

Chapter 12, The Long Awaited Victory

As Zooknock's army was winning successed off to the east, Glough saw a need to win over the Kahazad troopers at their battlefield where the semmingly eternal battle waged for so long, now it was time to end this.

Upon hearing of the eastern victories he quickly lead a charge of heavy calvary down up the rear flank of the Kahzard troopers, burning down the obers**tory as he went. Simulatneously he sent a group of heavy gnome paratroopers to land in the Kaharzd arena, killing all the guards, beasts, and sadly all the prisoners as well. Port Khazard met the same fate. Now with their fate sealed the soldiers of Kahazard fled to the sacin**** of Castle Wars, barricading themselves in along with the adventures and the staff that were there. They fought valiantly eventually retreating into the portals then into the game itself, the epic battle raged on, claiming many lives, towards the end it turned into a giant game of castle wars, with the humans desperately holding onto their castle, catapult firing, hundedreds of arrows and spells raining down upon the gnomes. But all hope was lost when the gnomes broke through the caved-in tunnels, and came flying up through the basement, at the top most tower it was Lucas, and the Khazard commanders fighting for their lives, in the end they to perished under the might of the gnomic army.

With this one fell swoop Glough had driven a wedge between Yannile and Ardougne.Yannile was now on it's on. Luckily a peace had been reached with the ogres who conceded to aid the humans in the coming battle. With Castle Wars now conqeured Glough led his army down to Yannile, where on the way he met a group of Ogres on patrol, arrows quickly flew at the ogres piercing their heads and killing them. This is going to be easy he though, what he had not counted on was a whole army of ogres streaming out of the city.

A long awaited victory had been won over Kahazad, but the next battle might not be as easy.

Chapter 13, Ogre Charge

Glough and his generals quickly rallied their army to face the ogre threat. Quickly realizing that his infantry would be decimated in a clash with the ogres, he instead elected to send out his calvary to deal with the ogres.

Major Grinlock the Terrorbird commander, led his calvary into the oncoming ogres. "For Honour and Glory" He Yelled, as he led the Terrorbird Troopers into the ogre lines getting the first kill when he sliced off the front ogres head with his broadsword.

The Ogres proved a very tough foe, being able to pick up the gnomes and even the terrorbirds as clubs. The Calvary was decimated, when Grinlock led his remaing command back in retreat. He was not treated kindly upon returning to camp. Glough was greatly angered by his failure. "Bah" spat Glough right at Grinlock's feet. "Your a failure major, and i wont have failures as officers in my army, i hereby strip you of your rank and bust you back down to private. "Yes Milord" replied the respectful Major. "All these losers under my command,i must show them all how its done and lead a charge of Tortises to finish off these Ogre pests and move onto the City."

So Glough summoned his Tortise, and led all the Tortises in his army straight into the Ogre Ranks. The Tortises faired much better then did the Terrorbirds. They were larger and the ogers were not able to pick them up. That said they were still picking off their riders, and throwing them hundreds off feet into the air, where they'd come crashing back down to earth with a bone-cracking "Smack" that would either kill or horribly wound the unlucky gnome that was thrown. The battle raged on bloodily,Glough himself was almost killed at one point, when an ogre grabbed at him. Luckily the Mage that was on his Tortise shot an acid spell right into the face of the Ogre, blinding him horribly, while the acid burned away his face and eventually his body.By the end of the night the ogres were beaten, and the city lay vulnerable.
