The result was the same. Adria caught his wrists with ease.
Simon roared in fury, baring a frightening set of fangs. Ignoring his bound hands, he lunged forward to try and bite the girl’s neck.
Adria was just as quick to react, releasing his wrists and catching him by the sides of his head.
“Get away!” she yelled, pushing him head-first away from her and across the room.
Simon tumbled backward, crashing through the counter and onto the floor.
“Shit!” he swore, whirling to his feet again and glaring across the room at his assailant. He was right back where he started, and even though the young woman opposite him looked and sounded harmless, the two were definitely not evenly matched.
“
GET IN HERE AND STOP HER, YOU WORTHLESS BITCH!
” Simon shouted, eyes whirling around the room for a plan.

She was incapable of ignoring Simon’s orders, and brutally quick in following them. It was a benefit he hadn’t gotten used to since he’d spent most of the previous night trying to get away from her after their date-gone-wrong.
“H-hey!” Adria exclaimed. She resisted, but couldn’t gain an advantage with the position she was in.
“Good little bitch.” Simon grinned again, suddenly confident again now that things were going his way.
He dusted himself off as he casually crossed the room – a wasted effort on his tattered and blood-soaked clothes. He looked down on Adria ravenously, now certain that she couldn’t stop his bite.
“Hold her steady and I might save you some.” Simon said to his valiant servant before leaning in for Adria’s neck.
“N-no, stop!” she protested, fighting and failing to break the vampire’s grasp.
Simon stopped.
His eyes met Adria’s.
Her crimson irises were brighter than blood, and deeper than the night-stained ocean. Transfixed, he saw in them-
A look of pure terror took over his face.
“You’re-”
