Liam Richard

"No," Liam said flatly, when Kathy approached him. "Not after that stunt you pulled in the alleyway." He pre-emptively removed his own head to prevent her from taking it without permission, and once again the armour reappeared. "What were you planning to do with it, anyway?"

Kathy pouted at Liam's reluctance to let her experiment. "Put it on backwards," she advised, then knuckled the spontaneously generated armour of the man. Yes, definitely metal.

Turning around, she reassembled herself in her leaning position against the door adjacent to the bathroom. Kathy knew when she was losing a battle, and it seemed the people in the room were determined to get to the bottom of this change in lifestyle, rather than simply go with the flow.

"I'm sure there are some industries that'd hire you," Kathy offered to Lyla, her eyes twinkling scandalously. Kathy thought money was perhaps the least of the six incher's problems, but then again Kathy had recently had an entire paradigm shift. If it hadn't have been for the manner of her death, perhaps she would be trying to consider the deep ramifications of events that had transpired afterwards, rather than simply accepting the cruelties of fate and going head first into hedonism.

"Go to the police, or to the news. Soon the Government catches wind. Then you're experiments. People will cut you up just to understand you. Or maybe they're nice scientists, and you're just confined to a gifted lab for the rest of your days. Can't let you out, though. Not when you can lift cars. Sure, you're dangerous. But more importantly, you're useful. I bet the US Military would pay a pretty penny to see what makes you tick," Kathy nodded in the direction of Ivy, who had once again started her crusade of furniture destruction.

"I think going to the beach sounds a lot more fun," Kathy stated, ending her speech with a nod of affirmation that a beach was indeed preferable to a laboratory.

Oliver Tenpenny

Oliver took a deep breath. In. He felt the earth beneath his feet; wiggled his toes. Out.
Better.

"It's okay to not know, I think." Oliver sat down on the grass, legs pointed out in front of him. "I'm honestly just glad I'm here right now. But home..." He looked at her again, eyes heavy. "I- I don't think I can ever go back."

He shuddered and looked back across the park again. The couple were walking away, arm in arm. He couldn't tell, but he bet they were smiling.

"I personally feel that we should do what we want to with this gift. The best rebuttal I can think of for that is that what I really want is to go home, but my aunt literally wouldn't recognize me, so it's not like I can do that. What I'm really worried about are, like, the cops. Maybe they think I broke into my apartment. Old apartment. Creeps me out just thinking about it." Oliver shivered, as if on cue. "Maybe we should try to get away from this. Get out of the city, see how far we can go. What are your thoughts?"

"It's autumn," Liam pointed out. "And stop trying to scare people. This isn't some film. The big bad government isn't going to swoop in and start cutting us up 'because science.' It might still be best to keep this a secret, but they're not just going to start murdering and torturing us. Especially if we're the only ones like this." He shook his head. "It's the media's attention we should be more worried about. Everyone's eyes will be on us - not necessarily in a good way, either - and it'll be hard to live in peace."

"Pfft," was all Kathy had to say in response to Liam's rather thorough put-down. She felt herself slide down the wall until she sat on the floor and wrapped her arms about her knees, consigning herself to the fate of the tedium of a serious conversation. Kathy could feel her enjoyment in the situation sapping away, the dreariness and the tedium creeping in.

These concerns were so... ordinary . Was this it? A second chance at life, purely to live with the same mundane concerns as what dictated the first? What should they do? What will people think of them? How could they plan for the future? Kathy could not believe that these questions were trying to rule her life once again.

Kathy had lived this fear before. Lived it, and hated it. And eventually the fear had won out, the anxiety and the hopelessness and the monotony and the inability to escape what she was. This second life seemed the final punchline. That there was no escape, truly. Not even in death could Kathy be rid of these feelings, these haunting emotions which had plagued her now for years.

As the dark thoughts began to creep in, the temperature in the apartment started to drop.

"No."

Adria's answer was swift and firm. "No, no, no, no, no." she repeated. "I can't... I can't just leave!" Whatever had stirred in her was very strong indeed. There was no time to even begin to process how the night's events would impact her life, but one thing she knew was that she couldn't just walk away from it all.

"I don't know what the lord wants for me, but... I have to figure it out!" she adamantly declared.

Working? God... Ivy hadn't even thought about working, but Lyla was right - getting a job really wasn't in the cards for the tiny girl. The rest of them could at least pass off as normal, but Lyla? She was in some trouble on that front. Kathy, as before, didn't exactly help all that much when she started listing off the many things that could go wrong as shown in all kinds of media. Government agents taking them away, cutting them up in a lab, keeping them locked up, the military wanting them as supersoldiers... None of it came across as reassuring, which was probably her intention since she promptly stated the beach was more fun. Liam jumped in to counter her.

" Honestly, I couldn't give less of a shit about what the media would think - and figuring out what happened isn't at the top of my list yet, " She said, not reacting at all to the room's drop in temperature. Her eyes flickered over to Kathy who seemed to be moping against the wall, the muffled sounds of someone's lovemaking starting to creep through the thin walls. " Having somewhere to stay that isn't a trashy motel with walls like paper is what I want. I don't know about you, but homeless living doesn't sound like a fun second life. "

That wasn't strictly true. Ivy definitely wanted a better place she could stay, but what she really wanted was to hunt down her killer. However, telling the whole group that she wanted to hunt down a dangerous serial killer didn't seem like something they'd stick around for.

She sighed again, eye twitching in annoyance as the sounds through the walls got louder. " What do the rest of you want? "

Titty slowly blinks, her wide eyes staring at each individual as if they'd gone insane. She huddles against the wall, hugging herself.

"I didn't die," she mumbles adamantly. "I don't look like me, but I'm pretty sure I didn't die. I'd remember, right? But I don't. I don't feel like I've died..."

This group seemed insistent on being as New York as possible. They were weird, they didn't seem to care about anything, and they joked about going to the authorities about this whole situation. Titty, however, seemed to be insistent that she hadn't died. She admitted she wasn't herself, but she claimed not to have remembered dying.

Lyla shivered, as the room temperature dropped quickly and she didn't exactly have the body mass to ignore it as well as most of the others might. Despite this, she flitted to Titty's shoulder and settled herself there. For one, this offered her more warmth. For two, she could better help to figure out what was going on.

"Can someone get her some water, please?" Lyla requested, fully ignoring the dull sounds creeping through the walls. It wasn't her first stay in a shitty motel. Hell, even her apartment - oh, ex-apartment I guess... - had thin walls that allowed her a little too much knowledge into her neighbors' preferences.

"Water might help you some, love. Whether you died or not, dehydration isn't a good thing."

Liam Richard

Liam banged his elbow against the wall. "Keep it down!" he shouted, before heard the tiny pixie girl.

"Water?" He looked to the girl from before, the one he had knocked over, and felt guilty. He had been pushed, of course, but the incident still seemed like it was at least partly his responsibility. "Yeah. Sure." He made his way to the room's sink and turned the facet. Nothing came out.

Goddamn cheap pieces of shit.

He sighed. "Water's not working. But uh... I think I saw a vending machine outside. Anyone want anything? I don't mind buying." He looked at the woman who seemed to have the hardest time coping with all this.
