Adria was one with moonlight.
She swept across the dark streets, careening about like a stray cat on the prowl. She slunk from shadow to shadow, darting in and out of the light, moving swiftly from point to point. With a sharp turn she whipped herself into an alleyway and flung her body onto a fire escape in one fluid motion. The ghostly girl then launched herself up from floor to floor, bounding along the outer railings until she'd scaled the height of the building.
Adria stood at the edge of the rooftop, basking in the calm breeze that wafted through the smoggy streets. All around her echoed the cacophony of the nightlife as she scanned the terrain with a sharper vision than she'd ever known.
It was so much fun!
Moments ago, she had been terrified and ridden with shock. Yet in her plight to rush home, she'd found herself absorbed in the swift movements of this new, lighter body. She could jump further and higher than anyone. She could climb better and faster than anyone. She could dart across the cityscape like a squirrel in a forest, and it was invigorating in ways that her sheltered life could never compare to.
None of it had truly sunk in yet. As far as she knew, all of this was some kind of dream. The kind one hoped to not wake up from. Everything in that moment felt perfect. All except for... that tugging sensation at the edge of her mind... That subtle call in all directions that she couldn't yet understand. It was a murky feeling... the only blight on her enlightened state.
