Good to be back :) . Ah I'm sure they're about, perhaps just waiting in the shadows for the time being?

Looking forward to the next add, dont overly stress about it though, we all have obligations in real life. Just means we await the next add all the more :) .

Tsk, Nick, what are you doing out here? You have a part in this add, I don't care how small it is, you still need to go!

On a completely unrelated note, Prefix I have something you may want, please try to catch me in-game sometime. ^_^

“Omnipotens sempiterne Deus, qui vivorum dominaris simul et mortuorum, omniumque misereris, quos tuos fide et opere futuros esse praenoscis.”

Setkul looked up he heard these words, aware that they were recited near the end of the ritual Mephos was performing. From where he stood in the shadows, he could see the incubus kneeling before an ancient altar, surrounded by sweet smelling smoke created by braziers of smoldering incense. His eyes were shut, his hands outstretched, and his voice even and steady as he recited the ancient words he had long ago memorized.

Setkul waited a moment more, fully aware that, to the Mazoku, sacred rituals like this were considered at least as intimate as the marriage act, and that to disturb one was considered more than rude, it was considered an act of extreme malice and disrespect. Finally, his patience was rewarded as Mephos recited the words, “Et fidelium animae per misericordiam Dei requiescant in pace.“ The prayer for the dead which signified the end of many Mazoku rituals.

As soon as Mephos finished this, his eyes opened, and he stood and made his way to the carefully folded robes at one side of the temple, which he began to dress himself with, covering up the shorts and short-sleeved shirt that he was already wearing. Setkul smiled at this; he was in a position that nearly every woman in his kingdom would kill to be in.

Normally, whilst in public, Mephos took the traditional modesty of the Mazoku to the extreme; he not only wore loose fitting robes and a cloak, he would also wear gloves and a facemask as well, concealing all but the area around his dark violet eyes, and his hair, which was a light silver that faded to violet at its tips. This habit of extreme modesty, along with the common knowledge that incubi and succubi were beautiful to behold had led to numerous rumors about Mephos, one of which was that he was so attractive that any girl who saw him uncloaked would fall head over heels in love with him at first sight. With rumors like this floating around, every women in Setkul's empire and beyond wanted to at least once get a glimpse of the mysterious incubus who always seemed to be at their emperor's side.

As Mephos covered himself with his cloak, Setkul commented, “Such a shame really.”

The incubus paused and looked at Setkul, knowing he would continue.

“I've heard from my lady subjects,” said Setkul, “They inform me that my enemies would throw down their arms and beg to be taken prisoner, if only I sent you against them in something more revealing.”

“The emperor has a treasury full of magnificent jewels which only he is permitted to see,” replied Mephos, “He is not the type to display his treasures, no matter what the reward.”

“That is because, his treasures are worth more than all the kingdoms in the world,” said Setkul, walking over to Mephos. Once he was in front of the incubus, Setkul said, “If anything ever happened to one of that emperor's treasures, he would tear the heavens, the earth and all else to shreds until he retrieved that treasure. No one would be able to stand between him and that treasures... this much, I promise you.”

Setkul woke with a start. Not a few feet from him, he could see that the campfire had been reduced to dying embers.

“Dreaming of the past again,” he said to himself, sitting up. He looked around the campsite, thinking about how odd it was that they had stopped for the night; among their group were Gaudete Spes, who never actually slept, an incubus, and a half-Oneiroi; both of which were nocturnal creatures. Still, he had to admit that it had been a tiring day for them all, and so Setkul had agreed when Ayumu had suggested they set camp for the night, and then rest and plan out their destination the next day, before setting out on the following night.

“Setkul.”

The young man looked up to see Ayumu standing nearby.

“We need to talk,” said Ayumu.

“Let me guess; about Mephos and about Liam,” said Setkul.

“Are you really going to insist on sacrificing Liam so Mephos can return, regardless of his desires on the matter?” questioned Ayumu.

“Yes, just as I would cauterize a wound regardless of his desires,” replied Setkul, “You and I both know that Mephos should be the one alive and well, not Liam.”

“And you would speak of what should be?” asked Ayumu, his voice rising, “You, who should have never been? Who was an abomination even as he was conceived?”

Setkul clenched his fists and replied, “Perhaps you are right, I shouldn't exist. But, Mephos disagreed with you on that. Just like he disagreed with the villagers who wanted to burn another abomination at the stake; one who was half Fey and half human, if I recall.”

Ayumu went pale and after a moment said quietly, “I apologize... I didn't mean what I said... I just let my emotions get the better of me.”

“No harm done,” replied Setkul, relaxing a bit.

*Thank you,” sighed Ayumu, “I need to go off by myself and cool-down, please excuse me.”

As soon as Ayumu was out of sight, Setkul turned to look at where Liam lay asleep and said, “You might as well ask, it'll save you a lot of trouble and guessing.”

“You knew I was awake?” asked Liam, slowly sitting up.

“Your breathing rhythm was a bit off from what it is when you're asleep,” replied Setkul.

“How do you-?” began Liam. “No,* he said, “Nevermind.

To you, am I but a means to bring Mephos back?”

“Not only that,” replied Setkul, “But I do intend to bring Mephos back, and in order to do so, I will have to make you cease to exist.”

“But why?” asked Liam, “Why are Mephos and I connected? Why do I need to die for him to come back? There has to be a reason, and you know it Set, don't y-” Liam paused, apparently confused.

Setkul smiled at his confusion and said, “Since when have you been giving me nicknames, Liam?”

“I don't know...” said Liam, “Nothing makes sense... you've even admitted that you're intending to kill me, and yet I still strongly feel I should trust you... why?”

“It'd be easier to show you the answer then tell you,” replied Setkul.

Liam gave him a puzzled look, and as he did, the last embers of the campfire faded.

“Ah darkness,” said Setkul, noticing the change. “Humans fear it, or see it as a force allied with evil. There are only a few who notice how beautiful it is.” Noticing Liam seemed even more confused, Setkul smiled and continued, “This is my answer, Liam.”

Azzanadra and Parsis sat across from one another in the Temple of Senntisten.

“Almost everything is going as planned,” said Azzanadra, “The Zamorakians live in fear and discord; all of them worrying they will be made the next example. The Saradominists are confused and attempting to re-organize as our sudden boldness has caught them off guard. The Guthixians are growing wary of us, but still are remaining neutral. The Cults of the Void and Darkness have allied with us, and we are in discussion with the Cult of Order. Ravis and Vanescula have agreed to side with us, and thus Morytania is under our control... there are only two issues weighing us down.”

“Liam Nidhogg and Kalechot,” commented Parsis.

“Correct, the incubus has evaded us... and the fact that Setkul is guarding him means that as we suspected, Liam and Mephos are connected in some way,” replied Azzanadra, “I've taken the liberty of ordering several regiments to search for Liam... as for Kalechot, Kevin has it, but is clearly not attempting to bring it to us... I have no idea where he is going, but the bow is giving him quite a bit of power. Three search parties sent after him have vanished.”

“The weapons are not so easy to use as that fool Saradomin believes,” said Parsis, “The holy weapons will only allow a person to fully utilize them if they are judged worthy... the evil weapons are different; they will allow anyone to use them, but the user must always be on guard; should his or her will falter for even a moment, the weapon will subvert and destroy them.”

“I believe each uses a different means for this,” commented Azzanadra, “What means does Kalechot use?”

“You and I know what the weapons really are,” commented Parsis, *What do you think Kalechot uses?”

“The power of desire,” said Azzanadra, “Then, what does Kevin desire, exactly?”

Parsis motioned with his hands, conjuring a single piece of parchment covered in writing. Looking over it, Azzanadra's eyes widened. “I see...* he said, “Then he will be going to-” The Mahjarret was interrupted as shouts resounded from above the temple.

“What in the blazes of the inferno are they shouting about?!” questioned Azzanadra.

He didn't have to wait long to find out, as a Zarosian ran into the temple, pale as a ghost, and began stuttering like a madman.

“Calm yourself,” said Parsis, *What is happening?”

“My lord,” said the Zarosian, bowing, “Something is coming toward us.*

*What is it?” asked Azzanadra, “You act like all of Misthalin is marching against us.”

“We don't know what it is,” replied the Zarosian, “But it is nothing of human origin... it comes from the sky.”

“From the sky?!” asked Parsis and Azzanadra together.

Exchanging glances, a look of recognition crossed their faces.

“He dares come to Senntisten?” questioned Parsis. Before anyone could reply, the old man stormed out of the temple.

Making his way up the partially completed wall, Parsis could see what was worrying his men; a large shining object was indeed rapidly headed for Senntisten. With a hiss, Parsis reached the top of the ramparts and stared out at this object, whilst below, all the Zarosians stationed in Senntisten gathered to watch this strange spectacle.

When the object had reached earshot, Parsis shouted, “You dare return to this land?!”

At this shout, the object sped up until it had come to rest right beside the partially built wall of Senntisten, causing all the Zarosian gathered below to gasp as they saw what it was.

Before them was a colossal bird, made of golden light, and radiating with power. In its presence, the demons gathered amongst the Zarosians began howling in dismay and clutching their heads, and warlocks felt their magic vanish. Other than that, the world had grown silent, and an aura of peace had filled the lands surrounding Senntisten.

Parsis looked down upon his troops and realized that the faith of many were wavering in front of this being. He would not allow that; it was time to strip aside this frail form and show his followers true power. With this thought, Zaros forced as much power as he could through the Communion Portal, shattering the avatar he had built for himself, in order to better display his power.

Below the ramparts, the Zarosians gasped in awe as Parsis gave way to a being of incomprehensible darkness and power, which loomed over Senntisten in the from of a massive cloaked being. The divine powers of the two beings combined and warred, sending lightning across the cloudless sky, and tremors through the land.
