CHAPTER II-THE HUNT
Selene sat in the far corner of the pub, staying as inconspicuous as possible. Since the incident with the Stone of Jas one year ago, her reputation as a mercenary had skyrocketed, and naturally, with this new fame came a host of new, well-paying jobs. So it wasn’t too much of a surprise when someone contacted her and requested that she meet them in the Flying Horse pub.
“Hey Selene!”
The call made several heads turn, including Selene’s. However, it seemed only Selene actually recognized the newcomer as Taiyama, a former Zarosian who now served Guthix. Amused, she pulled up a chair for the Guthixian, and waited for him to sit down. Once he had done so, she asked, “Why did you call me here Taiyama?”
The warrior seemed surprised at this question, and replied, “But I thought you had called me here?”
“What?” asked Selene, “Then who did?”
“Probably someone who wants the help of those people who dealt with Lucien so soundly last year,” another voice suggested. Turning, Selene and Taiyama found a Freminik girl they recognized as Jun had arrived at their table.
“You got called too?” asked Taiyama.
“Yep,” replied Jun, taking a seat, “And believe me, I’m as interested as you are at meeting the person who called us.”
“I’m curious too!” said a new voice. It took Taiyama and Selene a while to find the speaker; a white cat standing next to Jun’s leg.
“Oh, I suppose I should introduce you,” sighed Jun, “This is Sven, a ghost cat whose sole purpose in life seems to be annoying me.”
“Oh but you’re so easy to tease,” said the cat, “And besides… oh, who’s that?”
The group turned to the door, and saw a young man in dark blue clothes, with blond hair, and bright blue eyes, enter the building. Upon entering, he turned to where the group was seated, flashed a smile, and made his way to their table.
“Thank you for coming today,” he greeted them
“So, you’re the one who called us?” asked Taiyama. "He appears in the Form of a Man with many Countenances; and he hath a Book in his right hand. His Office is to teach all Arts and Sciences unto any; and to declare the Secret Counsel of any one."
