“Well this is it,” observed Usha, “Aquaregis’ last intel report led us here. And judging by the coffin this is the right place.”
“Are you sure about this, Lady Usha?” asked one of her guards, “If Aquaregis was correct, this is the ‘tomb’ of the Void King’s own son. Not only might he turn against us, his loyalty to Mephos ensures that if he figures out about Liam…”
“I know the risks,” said Usha, “But I must take them. If Liam still had his memories this is what he would want; I’m not going to bypass that for selfish reasons.”
“If that’s the case why don’t tell him that you know most of his memories already, sis?” asked Hekate.
“That is…” Usha began.
“Is it because you can’t decide if you love Liam or Mephos more?” asked Hekate, “You and I both know they cannot both be alive. The only way for Mephos to return is for Liam to die, and if Liam remains Mephos will not be brought back. Which do you want to happen, sis?”
“I… I can’t decide,” admitted Usha.
“So you’ll leave it up to fate?” asked Hekate, “Or is it that you’ll delay? Sooner or later sis, you’ll have to make your decision. The longer you put it off the harder it will be.”
“We’ll talk about this later,” sighed Usha, “For now let’s open this coffin.”
“Easier said then down,” sighed Hekate, “The darn temple knights were rather thorough with their seals, I bet only their commander knows how to open it. Of course, he‘s thankfully still alive, and now that he‘s been deprived of sleep and food for a few days maybe he‘ll be more willing to help, so guards, bring him here.”
A few moments later, an aged man in white armor was brought to the twins.
“Hey old man,” greeted Hekate, “Open this coffin for us.”
“You think a little sleep deprivation would make me so pliable?” questioned the old temple knight, “How foolish!”
“Don’t worry, I did*’t think it would make you obedient just like that,” replied Hekate, “I just needed to weaken your will a bit. Gwen, if you would…”
