While the Guthixians, who had little memory of Zaros, as he was before the high age of their religion, thought little of this, the followers of Seren, the Menaphite Pantheon, and of course the Saradominists and Zamorakians, were completely terrified. It seemed that every day Parsis had to endure the pathetic assassination attempt of one of these factions. Speaking of which…
A group of young men walked up to Parsis and one of them asked, “Are you Dr. Parsis, by chance?”
Parsis sighed, these people had done a good job as disguising themselves as civilians, but still clearly were marked by Saradomin’s power. Some had even thrown up prayers as a means of protection. Still, they were out of their league.
“I am he,” replied Parsis.
Immediately, the group pulled crossbows out of their clothes and fired at the old man. There was a look of shock amongst all of them as they realized that their enchanted dragonite bolts had not hit the old man in front of them, but instead somehow became embedded in their own chests. A moment later, the enchantments kicked in, and bursts of dragonfire consumed the bodies of the Saradominists, burning them to ash.
“I have to thank Saradomin later,” Parsis muttered to himself, “The dragonfire bolts saved me the trouble of cleaning this mess up.”
Having dealt with what he hoped to be the last problem of the day, Parsis turned to the temple and began making his way toward it. However, he only made it a few steps when he felt something change. He paused for a moment, to make sure, then broke into a grin, and nearly sprinted to the Temple of Senntisten.
“This is entirely your fault, if your friend Lucien hadn‘t taken the Stone of Jas, we wouldn‘t have had to rely on Zaros‘ troops to remove it! The prestige from that is what made them bold enough to start rebuilding Senntisten!”
