Joric Ironfist
Joric really didn't hear Azul's speech, although he would undoubtedly find Azul's claim that the dwarf had a higher kill count to be a bit of a stretch. There was an entire guild of mages and several townsfolk in hell who would disagree, and Azul had probably met them, which made him a straight-up liar. What a ****.
Anyways, the real reason the Dwarf didn't hear any of that was because he was bolting up the stairs. No, he was not retreating. You could call it the next
step
of his plan. He was trying to get his armor. Partly because he wanted protection and partly because he would snap if the building inexplicably collapsed on itself while his armor was still inside.
He burst through a door, the handle slamming and denting itself against the wall with a resounding
crash
, only to realize it was Siera's room. Crap. He was next door.
Once more he burst through a door, this time in his room and a lot more carefully. He hastily began to put on his armor with a quick and practiced precision, doing up buckles, putting on a helmet, belting his sword...

Brodus
Brodus smiled as the elemental charged. For that had been why he chose to stand on the opposite end of the room, the magical circle between him and the door.
As the elemental soared through the room and passed over the magical circle, he touched his blade to the containment ring. Then, focusing hard, he channeled his energy into the trap itself, attempting to reactivate it and seal the elemental inside once more.
If it didn't work he may or may not get torn to pieces. Which is why he kept his shield up.
He took the time to wonder if the others were having just as much difficulty. Perhaps he was overthinking the whole thing?

Alica Vendal
Truthfully, Alicia was a bit disappointed about the whole situation. Now it was just her and Karstone, the creepy old man who kept oggling her.
Beneath the gold, the Bitter Steel.
